What are you Reading and Why

If I ever write a fantasy series , which I won't, I would name my characters tom Jeff mike and Steve. Any one else tire of trying to spell and pronounce screwy fantasy names

I think there could be a happy medium between the screwy fantasy names and "Steve" - Steverus, or Steevus.

How we pronounce it here, which I believe is the Welsh way is Miff-Fan-Way. Us Aussies could very obviously be wrong :)

I didn't think the narrator was bad but he wasn't the best choice for a fantasy novel in my opinion. Michael Page is among the best in that genre as you'll find with Locke Lamore.
Recently I listened to a fantasy book. Can't recall which one but had the usual mix of unique names and then there was something common like Jim or something. It was so out of place just horrible to the story.

I like you're thinking Janice. It got me thinking of "fantasy" names for us (I must be bored!!!) I would be Seraphina or Saraia or Sarahna or something like that! ;-)
@Travis - yes Wayne does stand out a little as a bit "normal" when compared to Waxillium!

I was a bit underwhelmed with the voice the narrator gave Kvoth. It just seemed a bit off to me, but not enough to give up listening to it. :)
Locke Lamore will be my first Michael Page book. I'm looking forward to it.

I am now starting We Have Always Lived in the Castle

Pies and Prejudice and starting Young Men and Fire for my ABC challenge after I listen to The Cricket on the Hearth - free from Audible.

There are mentions of Rusalkas in this story, btw. :)

I'm now trying to get myself in a Christmassy mood with Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. I'm enjoying it ...
I seem to be on a bit of a YA spree at the moment!

I'm reading La inspiración dormida. Regreso a los colores olvidados
because the art is so pretty and I love the stories.
Aaaand I'm reading Fushigi Yûgi: The Mysterious Play, Vol. 13: Goddess
because of the art and it's so romantic (and it's fast to read.)
Aaaaand I'm reading Divergent
because I saw the trailer for the movie and it looked pretty good.
Aaaand I'm reading Much Ado About Magic
because it's cute and fluffy and I started the series and darn it I'm going to finish it!

@Rusalka, are you Uke? I'm 1/2...the other 1/2 Russian. :)

Oh no. Sorry for the confusion. Just in name only (Rusalkii being Slavic/Russian mythology). I'm 1/2 Aussie and 1/2 English, but the Aussie part tends to take over.
I do very much want to visit that part of the world though. Sounds/looks incredibly interesting and beautiful.

I've started my final alphabet book. Zulu Hart (which I managed to reserve in large print, for some unknown reason) looks pretty good based on the first chapter. And I've got a whole 10 days to finish it - easy peasy >:-)

I'm at Zee as well. However Zeno's Conscience is just too intimidating for me!
I've ordered something more "fluffy" from the library.
(Just so I can bite my fingernails while waiting 'til the last minute. More exciting that way.☻)

Indeed, I know not what this letter Zee is. I do hope the alphabet hasn't been extended to 27 letters >:-0

☺ It is hard isn't it? Had to bite my tongue over "colour" versus "color" and theatre" versus "theater".
I got myself in trouble a while back, I believe over "you lot".
I don't think Helen is speaking to me!☺

In Canada, I have heard, there is an extra vowel, "A", between every sentence.☻ eh?
