Fast zombies would make for an even more difficult apocalypse..if we were talking reality id definitely hope for slow. lol as for books, Im open to either.
World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War and Dawn of the Dead are two good books to get you started. You are welcome to have a look through my book list for more ideas.
Lacy, if you're up for testing your zombie skills, may I recommend my book? It's a gamebook for adults--at the end of each section, you have to choose what will happen next. There are more than 40 different outcomes (including turning into a zombie yourself and making zombie decisions!). I'd love to know what you think: it's "Undead Rising: Decide Your Destiny," if you're interested.
Hi! I'm new to Goodreads and am trying to figure out how to get friends/followers. I'm the author of a screenplay formatting guide called Your CUT TO: Is Showing, and I am currently working on my first ever fiction book (a zombie novel).I'm starting a blog on my Goodreads page where I'll discuss the writing process, horror books and films, screenwriting, and lots of other things. I hope you guys will friend me and follow me. And if you have any tips on how Goodreads works, let me know. Like I said, I'm new at this.
Also, feel free to ask me anything!
I don't think I introduced myself here when I first joined. I only recently (in the last couple of years) discovered that I enjoy zombie books. My absolute favourite series so far is written by an author that's not very well known- Jake Bible His Z-Burbia series is an awesome mix of zombie gore/violence, and irreverent humour. Has anyone else here read his work?
Hi everybody,I'm a new member here, and I wanted to present myself.
My name is Lawrence Herbert Tidez, and I've been writing my firsr novel, a Zombie Horror Story, despite the fact that my first preference has always been Science Fiction.
As 'Event Horizon' and 'Alien' proved it very well, Horror and Sci Fi aren't incompatible genres.
I loved to discover the two first seasons of 'The Walking Dead' Series !
I want to know more the zombie genre, and I hope to make friends with many writers who love it.
I'm French, with a double cultire French and English - American, thanks to 5 memorable years in Australia.

Hi Roland,Lots of writers and readers in this group! Sometimes we're silent, and sometimes not! Sorta like those zombies. Sometimes they creep up on you...
Read anything good lately?

I'm new as I finally found the Group section of Goodreads. Huge zombie book/film/comic/sometimes-video game fan & wannabe author (just ask: I'll bore you with my percolating zombie novel treatment any day!).
As way of introduction, I'll list my top 5 zombie-themed things across all genres I mentioned:
1. Fiend by Peter Stenson (Windmill books novel)
2. I, Zombie by Al Ewing (Abaddon novel)
3. Return of the Living Dead (Orion pictures film)
4. World War Z by Max Brooks (non-fiction novel: :-)
5. The Walking Dead (Telltale games video game)
Happy to be here!

@Beau: and quite funny too! I remember when Sean of the Dead came out and the marketing material called it 'the first zombie rom-com' and I remembered that ROTLD did it first. Same with 28 Days Later which (feckless) critics said was the first cinematic instance of running zombies. Again, ROTLD was years ahead of its time. But it's the humour that makes it. I think it's because it was written by Dan O'Bannon (of Darkstar and Alien) fame.
Hello all, first time commenting. Like many have said, tired of FB, etc. Veteran zombie fan from Cleveland (been going to zombie walks for almost ten years). Also a zombie novella series writer.I'd have to say, my favorite zombie media would be Mark Tufo's Zombie Fallout series, and I appreciated Zombieland (movie) for its humor (and of course, Bill Murray).

Rachel; have you watched Dead Set? It was a mini-series that focused on the Big Brother house during the outbreak of the Zombie Apocalypse.
