Not yet!! How have you been, Miss Tammy K.?
BTW, I signed a contract for the Zombie Fighter Jango series!
On the "What would you do with your pet?" topic... I imagine we'd have to stay in our home and hunker down. We couldn't get all of our critters into a vehicle in order to relocate and I can't imagine leaving them behind to fend for themselves!!
What kind of and how many critters do you have, Rebecca?
We get to test out our "critter transport plan" in the next few weeks, as all the animals have to be out of the house for a minimum of 6 hours while the exterminator is spraying. 3 kids, 4 cats, one minivan... if you see a flare go up, send help. Bring therapeutic quantities of Bailey's Irish Cream.

I've been a member of this group for awhile but haven't been as active as I'd like. I'm the biggest fan of zombie books alive! Or Unlive, not sure how to define it yet. I review for Buyzombie.com and occassionally write a book or two.
Hi. Are real Zombies allowed to join this group or is this just for live people? I've been a member of the Shuffling Dead (Walking Dead over 60 years old)for the past three years. We even have a Facebook page and go by #smellyfeet on twitter. I'm also a Goodreads' author. Love books about us as well as vampires, although Dracula's great grandson can be a royal pain. Have a great day.
Welcome, guys! It's great to have you here!
And of course zombies are welcome. We loooove zombies. For, er, target practice. Hmmmm. It's kind of rude to shoot at group members though, eh?

I just seen on ABC News that author
Tom Clancy Died.http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/b...
I have read several of his earlier books. He will be missed in the world of Thriller/Mystery.
I loved all the Jack Ryan books. Tom Clancy was a master of the techno-thriller. I also liked Red Storm Rising. I never got into Splinter Cell or the other series written by his proteges. And I did worry that he gave terrorists the idea to fly airliners into buildings. If so, he had a bigger impact on the world than we knew. In any event, he has left a legacy that will not soon be forgotten. On the lighter side, my good news is that Permuted Press just released an anthology that I edited. It includes contributions from 20 authors, including Hugh Howey, Craig DiLouie, Rhiannon Frater, Shawn Chesser, DA Roberts, Dan Williams, Mark Clodi, Samuel Garcia, Sean Liebling, and many more. Each author offers their own idea of the Zompoc in "Outbreak: Visions of the Apocalypse." Best of all, the proceeds go to charity!
Permuted Press will donate all profits from the anthology to Direct Relief International (www.directrelief.org), a medical relief NGO that helps victims of poverty, disaster and war in over 70 countries and is rated 99% effective by Forbes. So this is one zombie book you can feel good about buying. DRI would be on the front lines of any global pandemic, including a zombie apocalypse. :)
I hope this is viewed as more of a public service announcement for the zombie community at large than a promotion, but the news is too good not to chat about. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F...
Hey all. New member who's been lurking for a couple of months. I've always got a few zombie novels in reserve and have read a few since joining Goodreads in July. Looking forward to joining in the discussions round here.
The anthology looks amazing, I'm looking forward to reading it very soon. It's great that it's all for charity as well.
:) thanks Angie. I hope you enjoy it. I bought a copy yesterday (for a good cause) and must say it is even better reading it on my Kindle than it was editing on the PC. :)
I'd definitely say so. I've got the 2nd one deadline and I've just read the first chapter before I have to do some jobs around the house. You should give it a try :) Shaun is a lot of fun.
I have all three. Just have a mile long list ahead of it. Working on zombie, inc and deck z right now. :)
I have been posting the Zombies! group on Facebook at intervals, however, my viewership is solely composed of the three people I know from the Zombies! group, so.... It's the thought that counts, right?
I read Alice in zombieland. Wasn't thrilled when I started it, but enjoyed the end very much. What a freaky trip that was
Alice in zombieland, Susan is that a take on Alice in wonderland? It seems as if that's the case. I've read a few spoofs of this sort and they've all been very enjoyable :)
It was a new take on Alice in wonderland. Some was predictable of course. But u loved the croquette scene where they use body parts as the mallets and heads as balls. But u had to be careful not to be bitten by the heads. Don't want to spoil too much, but it really was a fun read. Working on deck z. Titanic sinking and zombies. Definite possibilities :)
Hi all! Didn't know where to post announcements... GIRL Z: My Life as a Teenage Zombie was named the Young Adult winner in the 2013 Halloween Book Festival!.... A different kind of zombie story....http://cverstraete.com

About Mira Grant´s Feed - mixed feelings, not the right time for me I think. It seemed really good but when I..."
Hi Mariliis,
I'll agree with the mixed feelings about Grant's Feed. As much as I loved the first book of the trilogy, I was highly disappointed in the second, and couldn't bring myself to read the third.
And I do agree that Bell's "The Reapers are the Angels" is an excellent book, although not to everyone's tastes.
sometime back 'I read a book and I cant recall the title or author. the storyline was about a female doctor and her daughter. the virus was introduced to the US via collectable toys given away by a burger chain in plastic packets. when the packets were opened the virus was released. anyone know the title or author?
It was a great book but it ended with the survivors moving into the Sierra Nevada Mountain range there were some really good twists to the typical zombie story and I was hoping to find out wether or not the author continued with the series
Been busy and away on a road trip along the coast of Oregon and Washington (research of course). Also a nice way to spend my birthday. Back now and counting down to ApocaCon on Saturday (Oct. 26) at the Long Beach Zombie Walk where apocalyptic horror writers will face a horde of "walkers" with nothing more than books and pens to fend them off! See http://zombiewalklb.com/apocacon-2013/
The surviving authors will regroup at Mysterious Galaxy bookstore in Redondo Beach the next day for a more traditional book signing. http://www.mystgalaxy.com/Event/Apoca...
The public is welcome at both events. Admission to the Zombie Walk includes ApocaCon and a full afternoon and evening of live entertainment & classic zombie movies. It's the best Halloween party in SoCal. Need tickets and more info? http://zombiewalklb.com/tickets/
The bookstore venue is free and Mysterious Galaxy is a GREAT store for zombie, horror, sci-fi and fantasy books. I hope any of you who are local will stop by. :)
I was just We have 30 new group members since last Saturday (October 19th).
Welcome x 30 :-)

I look forward to getting to know you all through the group discussions.

I'm surprised they didn't put a Kindle and usb solar charger at the top of the list! :) Thanks for sharing that, Randy. Good to know!

This I did not know.
Upon glancing at the page, what spring to my mind is just how useful that emergency shelter aka nylon tents category is?

Lord knows I've read enough books over the years where I can recall the plotline but not the author or title of the book.
Agreed, Netanella. There is a thread like that over at Apocalypse Whenever. Should be one here. Lord knows I've read a lot of zombie books with titles I can't remember offhand. (Tip for authors - come up with a memorable title.) It's sort of funny but one of the reviews of my books on a horror website says something like, "The author calls it the Sovereign Spirit Saga, but everyone I know calls it the Voyage of the Dead Series." Fine by me! As long as they know about it. :)
Hello - I figured if stop in a say hi. I'm an avid reader of the end of the world type stuff and I joined this group a few weeks ago. Been on Goodreads but never really participated much in Groups, but I think I'll have to change that right now.
