SOLVED. YA fantasy about a princess and prince who have different special powers [s]

I'm looking for a young adult fantasy book that I read in 1997 or 1998. I believe it may have been part of a series, but I'm not certain. It was about a Princess (whose name I can't recall, but I believe it begins with an L) who is engaged to the Prince of a Neighboring Kingdom (I want to say his name was Corin, but I honestly don't remember.) The people from the different Kingdoms have different powers. The Prince's people's powers (sorry for the alliteration!) are the ability to read minds (I think.) The Princess's power is to sort of change reality, and create things, but her people aren't really allowed to use their powers freely and insist on maintaining a "balance," which she doesn't approve of.

A number of things happen in the book, one of her adventures involves making copies of herself and her fiancé that she thinks her parents would approve of.

The end of the book involves her going back in time and actually being the creator of the "balance" in her kingdom herself.
