Does anyone think that maybe Maxon isn't REALLY the Kings Son?

I just got the inkling that maybe Maxon wasn't really the Kings Son in this book. Maybe they adopted in secret or something because the Queen was having miscarriages? Did anyone else get that feeling? I just had this thought when Maxon stood up to his Dad and there was that confrontation and then the King said "Son" in that weird tone. That would be a total shocker if it was true!

it could be posible it did say the Queen was having alot of miscarriages before Maxon but i doubt that she would add that to the book its to much

i never really thought about that at all - i just got the sense that his father (the king) was a Type A personality who likes to control things and when Maxon wasn't exactly as he wanted, he took his anger out. I don't think that it would add to the story at all if he were adopted or the product of something other than his parent's relationship. it's an added story line that doesn't really bring things to a closure i don't think.
we'll have to see i guess....

I think it is a possibility, but a very small one. I think Maxon would have exposed that to America by now. Or to Kriss, or Celeste- whoever he's in love with.
I don't think Queen Amberly is the type to cheat, or lie about something like that. However, if that's the case, it may be why the king beats Maxon.
I think its a possibility Sara. Thatd make me want to read the book even more! But...if they adopted, wouldnt someone else would know already and tell somebody? And...does Maxton even look like his parents? When she described him, I think I totaly skipped the description or I forgot...but if he didnt, then maybe the adoption thing might be real because of Queen Amberlys miscarriges.
Did not think about that. Now I will.

Yeah. Maybe America would think of him better and forgive him for more of his mistakes if he wasn't the kings' son/
...more
It could be possible. That might be why his father hurts him. But unless it's adoption I don't see him not being their real son an option. I can see the king cheating, but he would have left the kid with the mom. (not bring the kid in and let the chance of his affair get out) Plus the queen doesn't seem like the one to cheat. So if he's not their son, then he really has to be adopted.
Wow. Maxon not the King's son. I have never thought of that.... It's possible! Guess we will have to find out in "The One"
