Yeah... it would probably mess up the whole Selection. And I think the One will be more focused on the Selection than the background of who Maxon is.
Actually, I think the Selection will be more of a minor part of the The One. I think The One will be chosen in the first half of the book and most of the book will focus on the discourses in the nation, especially the rebels and why they are rebelling in the first place and what they are looking for.
Good observation. I am sure that Kiera Cass will make the talk of the rebels and nation fun, though. I also think the beginning of the book will be centered around choosing America and then the rest will focus on the changes she makes and her marriage with Maxon.
