Goodreads Listopia

This is re. the 2014 Booker longlist. Although as yet only 2 of the 3 voters on the smaller list have also voted on the "main" one.

List title is the title of a book, the "description" is the book plot, the reason why these books are featured is unknown

I removed one person's votes for wrong category and wrong publication date and explained why in the comment section, and then he went and added them back a few weeks later, and got his sockpuppets to also add some of them too.
I flagged the list and pointed out the problematic books, but GR doesn't seem to have taken action yet, and that was a couple weeks ago. Should I just remove all the books again? Or wait for GR to do something?

Please feel free to send another message to the Contact Us link on the Help page. If books violate the list's stated guidelines, they may also be removed.

And I just had a fellow librarian change the description on a list *I* created to alter the rules, so I had to change it back and put a note in the comment section stating the purpose of the list. I didn't flag that person, but it annoyed me that someone would mess with a list I intended to be for a certain genre of book. If they wanted to add a different genre, they could have just created their own list.

I came across this list: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...
"2015's Most Anticipated Book in a Series (Sci-fi/Fantasy)"
The idea of this list is for books published in 2015 to be listed. As can be seen from all the other votes - they're books that aren't out yet and are going to be in 2015. (I mean, unless I'm TOTALLY misreading it?)
But in the list, the author Lillian Roberts voted for her book - 2 editions of the same one. Published 2012, with a reprint 2014.
This is not 2015 - as the list title states!
See her votes: https://www.goodreads.com/list/user_v...
I wasn't sure if I should have deleted the votes or not.

The "Deleting books that aren't will result in a loss of librarian privileges, and possible deletion of account." thing sort of made me hesitant, even if the books shouldn't be on the list. I guess at times I'm overly cautious? Lol.
Edit: I have removed the 3 books that were published prior to 2015 from the list. So that's dealt with.

That worries me too! I always try to make a note in the comment section as to why something was removed, but I don't want to accidentally remove the wrong thing and get someone pissed at me. Or get someone annoyed at me even if their book didn't belong on the list. There's a lot of sockpuppetry and some authors are very determined to spam their books to the top of every list, genre and category and publication date be damned.

I think that before the librarian status gets removed the person should have the chance to explain why they did it. Maybe instead of the little box that says "Are you sure you want to delete this book from the list" there should be another box where someone can say why they wanted to delete a book from the list.
If an author keeps adding his/her books to a list more than once even though they don't belong there, would it be ok to send them a pm and tell them not to? And if we risk losing our librarian status to remove those books shouldn't be something similar for people who keep adding wrong books to a list?

I might PM an author and point out that they are not adding their books to appropriate lists but remember that Goodreads Authors very rarely seem to lose librarian privileges irrespective of what they do. They all know that so it is a waste of time and
174 edited. 175 is vague, but it isn't violating any rules that I can see, and a bunch of people have voted on it.

I've created this listopia:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...
Is it possible to "close" it, so people can't add other books? It's based on a list contained in a book by an italian author, so there must be just the 100 books I've added.
Thanks!

I've made it into a 'static list'. That means only librarians (and the list creator) can add books.

Okay, this author obviously set up the list to promote his own books. He also seems to be the cover model for many of them.
Acceptable listopia?

Totally confused by this one....but I feel like it should be deleted.
Re 183: It's a general list, and appears to be open to contributions from other users.
Edited or deleted 184-188.

Can someone try to delete the duplicates on this? I tried it but it timed out.

That is not true, unless they are voting their books onto lists they don't fit (e.g. a contemporary YA romance novel onto Best Historical Fiction).

Must have gone through, because I get "0 duplicates found and removed".

Re 198: It violates no rules, and I expect there are other books which qualify. Plenty of publishing houses plan at least that far ahead.

Description edited. If the list needs updating, that can be worked on but isn't a reason to delete it altogether.

I specified that the list is only for children's fiction, and the vote in question is for a young adult novel. I tried asking the person who voted to remove it, but got no response.

I specified no self-published titles, and these were both self-published and voted for by the author.
