Gone. No one had shelved it as fantasy, which is suspicious.

Can you replace book #7 edition with this edition and delete the previous one.

Delete books #47, #48. These are upcoming editions but not yet published

Thank you very much!

Have you noticed that the list has 2 each of 45,47,49,51?
Replacing an edition will lose all the votes for the old edition. Books can be added or deleted but not, as far as I know, replaced.
For your deletes, do you mean to remove the current book 45 and add the new edition as book 58, etc? Obviously the numbering needs to be changed because of the duplication mentioned above.

This is a specific situation. Fantasy Masterworks is a special series by Gollanz. I know that editions will lose votes when deleted, but, those editions do not belong on that list in the first place.
Click here for more info on this specific series:
https://www.worldswithoutend.com/list...
I have added editions 47,49,51 because these are the correct editions. And book WAS by Geoff Ryman was missing from the original list in the first place so I added it. I don't see duplicate for it as you say. Which book number is that?
Editions 43,
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7...
45,
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
47,
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8...
and 51
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9...
are not part of Fantasy Masterworks published by Orion Publishing Group and were added there by mistake, or because there were no correct editions on Goodreads.
Book 49 "The Falling Woman" is not even out yet.
As far as the votes go they will normalize after a while. It's better to have correct editions, because this list is called Fantasy Masterworks, and that means specific editions, not just any old book.
Here is more on wiki as well
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantasy_...
This list is not updated though.
Thanks.

Never mind. It is just the voting positions. They change all the time.
Looks like Viriconium is wrong as well, or at least has a different cover. The Falling Woman removed. I'll finish it later.

Looks like Viriconium is wrong as wel..."
Ok thanks.
Lyonesse (book 7) is wrong as well. It should be this: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
Virconium is not wrong. Fantasy Masterworks edition has ISBN13: 9781857989953 which is the one on the list.
Also, I don't understand why you deleted correct editions of Last Call, Aegypt, and The Dragon Griaule
and you left the wrong ones.
Correct editions are
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
The Well of the Unicorn by Fletcher Pratt should be this edition:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8...
and The Phoenix and the Mirror (book 49) is not even out yet.
Hope that makes things clear.

That was the wizzo automatic duplicate checker (and slightly less wizzo automatic duplicate deleter. Sorry.
Viriconium seems to have had several different covers in this series but Goodreads doesn't have them all. I'll add them later.

Oh I see. Hope you can fix it later. And thank you very much for doing this.

OK, check that now. The new books have decided to be in the middle of the list. Must be a fantasy list. Back later.

But it seems to suggest that only 3 people should vote on it.
And what are lists for specific groups? I don't think I have seen one.
From the List page:
"Lists are public and everyone can vote on them, so don't create "Michael's Favorite Robot Books"—instead create "Best Robot Books" and seed it with your favorite books about robots."

You were probably editing them to be identical to existing titles of other Listopias. It won't allow that.
All edited.

They do. One of our developers looked into this quite a bit when you raised this issue with other "uneditable" lists several months back. It doesn't take much to be unique -- a single additional letter will do it. If you try to create a list with a taken title, you get the error message "There is already a list with that title."
We've had this conversation before.

No.
I suggest you get more people to vote on the list. With only 12 voters, 6 votes for one book count a lot. With 30 voters, they'd count far less.

Msgs 9-10 in that thread. Meghan says contributors rating and reviewing is against the rules. Why is Listopia voting different?
You are misquoting her somewhat; it's only against policy if they are not listed as contributors of the book with author profiles.
Noting that a vote is from a book's author is not a current feature on Listopia, so it's moot.

I am very active in maintaining my "2014 YA Books with (Possible) LGBT Themes" list. It's been going strong for several months now.

Just now I noticed that someone created a duplicate list a few days ago!
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/6...
I really don't understand why they created the list, but it's an exact duplicate of the one already on Goodreads. I don't see the need for two of them at all. Is it possible for that list to be deleted? I mean, I don't want to mess up anyone else, but it seems really unnecessary and a waste of energy to have people voting on two lists that are for the same topic.
There are middle grade books on my list too, and I will probably go ahead and add a note to say it's ok to add middle grade books in case people were unsure. There are only two MG books with queer characters in 2014 (so far), so not enough for a separate list.

I don't get what the criteria is for deleting a list if being identical isn't one?
In general, we try to edit lists rather than deleting them when possible. Some are too personalized, too promotional, etc. But many can be edited instead.
The warning is there, but users who feel their list is different enough have the ability to create one.

It seems kind of silly if someone can make, for example....
"2014 Vampire Books"
And then a few weeks later someone else can make....
"Vampire Books in 2014"
And the two lists just stay side by side even though they're the same topic.
Rainbowheart wrote: "Thanks, so how do you mean edit the lists?"
For example, "Bob's Favorite SciFi Books" might become "Favorite SciFi Books".

I admit I feel..... kind of usurped. My list was unique for a long time and now there's an identical one. I dunno why someone would totally ignore the warning and create an identical list to one that's already there.

You're in a better position, though, since your list is older. I'd rather have the older, established list so that (hopefully) I and my friends have gotten our votes up there which dominate the first page.

Unique, including case sensitive? So "YA Favorites" and "ya favorites" could both exist?

Can someone please remove a book from a list for me?
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2...
The Changing Sky by Steven Forrest should not be on this list as it is not an Evolutionary Astrology book. He has another book, Yesterday's Sky, that is an Evolutionary Astrology book. After the incorrect book is removed, I will add the correct book.
Thank you!

The book cover claims it is an Evolutionary Astrology work. Is that wrong?
