You should also try Mary Stewart. She was a writer around the same time as Phyllis A. Whitney. She wrote gothic romances as well. Sooo good!

I have read Mary Stewart's books. I agree:) They are very good. In fact, I just finished reading, This Rough Magic. It was wonderful. I enjoyed that story for several days after I finished reading it. :)

My all time favorite of hers is Madame Will You Talk. It is the only one I kept through the years. Wish I had the others as well, but I guess you can't carry around every book you ever read...boo!

Jeane Daly | 6 comments Jan Karon's Home to Holly Springs. It's an interesting read and I'm enjoying it. I've read all of Ms. Karon's books and look forward to her next. The Kindle is nice, but I still enjoy sitting down with a hard cover book and a cup of tea. That's my idea of pleasure.

I love the Mitford Books. Cynthia is my favorite character1 :)

Jeane Daly | 6 comments I just finished Maeve Binchy's biography. What an interesting person. I love her books and by reading the biography the books have a newer meaning.

Jeane Daly | 6 comments Katherine. I enjoy Cynthia as well. I believe Jan Karon has a new book coming out this month. The anticipated wedding is taking place.

Hey guys! Sorry I've been awol, I've been busy working on my next book. It's going to be a departure from my normal romantic suspense novels and instead be a near-future dystopian. I really felt God telling me to write it so I'm obeying and trusting Him with where it's going and how it'll be received once it's published (I'll probably self-publish it). After I'm done with it, it'll probably continue writing more Regency romances.

Lately I've been reading a lot of manga! I don't read Japanese so I've been reading the ones translated into English, but I'm relearning my Japanese to hopefully be able to read the Japanese language manga one day. Manga can be so imaginative and funny! As well as romantic (which is what I like best.) My favorite series right now is My Little Monster, Vol. 1 which started off a little weird, but it's become absolutely funny and romantic. I absolutely love it.

Yes. I heard. I am looking forward to reading it. :)

Carissa (Regency Woman) (sparklingangel84) | 4 comments Camy, I used to read manga too, but it's been a few years since I last read one. That was a fun and interesting period of my life.

As for your departure into dystopian lit, good for you! I read Rachelle Dekker's first book not that long ago, dystopian, and it's refreshing to see Christian authors breaking into that genre. Even if it's self-published, I'm sure I'll read it since I LOVE that genre.

As for what I'm reading this week, I've started Like a Love Song by Camille Eide. Loved her first book, but I think I love the sequel even more. Great writer! I'm at the beginning of The Iliad by Homer and need to start Inkdeath for a read-along type thing I've doing on my blog, Bookshelves and Daydreams. Oh, and I do have Journeys of the Heart to start reading. :)

Glad to find this group!

Aw thanks Carissa! I hope people enjoy it. It won't be a Christian book, per se, but I am hoping it helps non-Christians understand who Christ is and open them up to Him.

I've heard only good things about Camille Eide but I'm afraid I haven't read any of her books! I just haven't had time since I've been reading other books (like manga or Regencies) that are more related to what I'm writing at the moment.

I read Inkheart several years ago and really enjoyed it, but I haven't had time to read books 2 and 3. :( They look really good, though!

Heather (readingrainbowbrite) | 103 comments I just finished Jesus Swagger: Break Free from Poser Christianity Jesus Swagger Break Free from Poser Christianity by Jarrid Wilson . I would encourage everyone to read it. The title is silly but the theology and applogetics are solid. I highlighted a third of the book.

Carissa (Regency Woman) (sparklingangel84) | 4 comments Camy, if you ever get a spare month or 2, definitely read the sequels to Inkheart. They are soooooo worth it, especially Inkdeath! Oh, how much I love those books!

I'm about to start Luther and Katharina by Jody Hedlund by Jody Hedlund. Very excited about this one because it's her first historical, not historic romance. We'll see what I think! :)

I'm having mixed opinions about it. Just got to the part where it is meshing with The Princess Spy and I am finding that very interesting and exciting.

Heather (readingrainbowbrite) | 103 comments I just finished Sealed with a Kiss Sealed with a Kiss (Inspy Kisses #2) by Janet Tronstad . If you are interested in the book of Genesis, this is a good companion. Though it's not a commentary.

Carissa (Regency Woman) (sparklingangel84) | 4 comments Ola, everyone! So I'm actually hosting a Christmas Fiction Extravaganza over on my blog Bookshelves & Daydreams and would love it if any of you would like to participate. If you're got a blog and want to write a review and add it to the list, share the button, that would be awesome! I have 4 reviews up so far, and am planning on 1 a day (hopefully) up until Christmas! :)

P.s. Camy, I fully intend to read your Christmas book and add it to my list. Can hardly wait!

Heather (readingrainbowbrite) | 103 comments I'm reading Jesus Feminist: An Invitation to Revisit the Bible’s View of Women. I know the title might sound polarizing but the book starts solidly with the Gospel. The author has the majors down. She really wants to have a conversation with the reader. It's very good so far.
