Gigi | 833 comments Hi! I know I'm a little early. So, its getting closer to that time again. What was your favorite or least favorite book this month?

I've read:
The Reluctant Dom (The Suncoast Society) by Tymber Dalton Wallbanger by Alice Clayton Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn Bared to You (Crossfire, #1) by Sylvia Day Courting Miss Hattie by Pamela Morsi

Re-read:
Duncan's Bride (Patterson/Cannon Family, #1) by Linda Howard Hummingbird by LaVyrle Spencer Once and Always (Sequels, #1) by Judith McNaught

All of my re-reads are favs and either 4 or 5 stars. I've really enjoyed Gone Girl and the Reluctant Dom the most, excluding my re-reads.

What about you?

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I'll have to look before I post. But, for now I'm almost done with The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce .

Really loved Mercy by Julie Garwood on audio. So much better than just reading it; all due to the narrator's performance.

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments My faves were Heart of Obsidian (Psy-Changeling, #12) by Nalini Singh and Shards of Honour (Vorkosigan Saga, #1) by Lois McMaster Bujold .

Bookcrazy | 327 comments My fave as far was Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison .

message 6: by Gigi, Moderator (new)

Gigi | 833 comments Wow! Looks like alot of good books so far. I think I'm going to get Mercy on audio as well. I don't read a lot of PNR, but it looks like the Dragon Bound and Psy-Changeling series are popular.

message 7: by Gea (new)

Gea (gea89) | 412 comments I've read 28 books this month, but there were some very short ones among them. I will probably read at least one or two more this weekend.

PNR: Cynful (Halle Shifters, #2) by Dana Marie Bell Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling, #2) by Nalini Singh

Second book was much better than the first one: Under the Covers (Maverick Montana, #2) by Rebecca Zanetti Trish, Just Trish (This Can't Be Happening, #2) by Lynda LeeAnne

It seems that I have acquired a taste for western romance: The Ranger and the Redhead by Lynna Banning Lawless by Diana Palmer Lawman by Diana Palmer

Historical romance (both 4 stars): Rendezvous by Amanda Quick Seduced by Virginia Henley

There was only one good new adult book this month: Dangerous to Know & Love by Jane Harvey-Berrick

These three were huge disappointments: Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) by Jamie McGuire Rocked Under (Rocked, #1) by Cora Hawkes Exquisite (Exquisite, #1) by Ella Frank

message 8: by Gea (new)

Gea (gea89) | 412 comments Gisela & ShoSho I see you are far ahead in Psy-Changeling books, which were your favorites? (so I can know which ones to look forward to)

I have Lawless and Amanda Quick on my Kindle and/or Audible. I'm going to have to move them up. I've heard mixed reviews about Beautiful Disaster. I may have to move that one down.

message 10: by Gea (new)

Gea (gea89) | 412 comments I loved Lawless and Rendezvous was a sweet book, but Beautiful Disaster was a really disastrous like the title suggests :/

My favorites were: Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh , Caressed By Ice (Psy-Changeling, #3) by Nalini Singh , Kiss of Snow (Psy-Changeling, #10) by Nalini Singh , and Heart of Obsidian (Psy-Changeling, #12) by Nalini Singh . I had the most problem with books where both H/H were changelings and Clay's book Mine to Possess (Psy-Changeling, #4) by Nalini Singh , hated the heroine in that one.

message 12: by Kari (new)

Kari My favorites this month were Captured Heart (Highland Hearts, #1) by Heather McCollum and Tangled (Tangled, #1) by Emma Chase and Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh . I definately want to continue with the Psy series.

Kari Yes, Lisa K.! I have Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling, #2) by Nalini Singh downloaded and read to go. I'm going to *try* to go in order. :)

Tangled (Tangled, #1) by Emma Chase was great, Gisela. We get a male 1st-person POV which was really fun and different.

Nichole, for Go the Fuck to Sleep, did you read the book or listen to the audiobook? If you read the book, you should check out the audiobook at some point. Samuel Jackson is the narrator which adds to the hilarity of the book.

It looks like Nalini Singh and Tangled were big hits this month.

message 19: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 512 comments Gigi, I listened to the audiobook. When I saw that he was the narrator, I had to :)

message 22: by June (new)

June (ladyjune) | 315 comments This month I read Mary Jo Putney's Fallen Angel series, well most of them anyway, and I really adore them, especially One Perfect Rose by Mary Jo Putney . Its not mere romance book, its a story about love, and Ms Putney wove it beautifully. :)

★★★★★ Audios
Mercy by Julie Garwood <---Christina Traister kicked it up a notch, definitely!

The Diviners (The Diviners, #1) by Libba Bray <---the narrator, January LaVoy, raised this a star to star and a half.

The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit Set by J.R.R. Tolkien <---radio dramatization (therefore, abridged)

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce <--- narrated by Jim Broadbent

★★★★★ Reads
When He Was Wicked (Bridgertons, #6) by Julia Quinn

★★★★½ Reads
Summer Knight (The Dresden Files, #4) by Jim Butcher - this is probably a five star read; I'm just being moody.
