Jus looked a this Mary. You've done an awesome job. While I would agree with the assessment of The Dovekeepers being a book about exraordianry women, I don't think it has much to do with women gaining the right to vote.

The books do not have to have anything to do with the women's right to vote. They just have to be written by female authors.

Oh OK when you said in honor of women geeting the vote I thought it was a bit more specific. I think in honor of through me off since there is an implication that these authors had something to do with the vote, or at least to me.

I'll read for "P" next, after I finish this book (within the hour). And a book I'm waiting on starts with "O" and comes out on the 15th if that letter hadn't been covered yet.

fits the summer fling. It's like 276 pages, female author, it takes place on the west coast in California, there are beach scenes.

Books can be moved so if another book is read that only works for the spell-out, we'll just move something. Probably not going to be an issue.

I just looked for this at one of my libraries and there are 8 holds on it already. I have to check another library to see what their hold period is otherwise I'll probably download it. That said, I didn't care for The Hunger Games- never read the last book but from the blurb of Divergent it does sound good.

I did download Divergent yesterday. A really good price of $3.99. Now the only thing is when will I be able to begin it. LOL

Oh, already am. Finished Insurgent around 4 today. :) I liked Divergent better, there was SO much craziness in Insurgent, but I still really liked it.

Haha same Brooke!!! If you like Divergent then you should definitely try out other dystopian series such as Legend by Marie Lu. Divergent and Hunger Games got me into dystopian books and I now moderate a huge dystopian book club so I'm pretty passionate :)

I'll probably look at a few, see if anything catches my eye. It's not normally what I'd read (I'm more of an action/adventure, thriller, suspense) type person but I've been trying to read outside my comfort zone and I've found some books that I like, so yay! :)

I saw that you are (re?) reading Incarceron ~ that's been on my TBR pile for a while. I just haven't gotten around to trying it yet.

In that case you must recommend some thriller or suspense books for me (adult ones are fine) the only adult authors I've tried are Dan brown, Michael Crichton, and Khalid hoisseini- and those three were all amazing.

And yeah I loved incarceron the first time around so I'm just regrading it before starting the sequel! It's quite complex but it was a really well told story!

Oh there are so many. Let's see, my favorite murder mystery/thriller is Chris Carter starting with The Crucifix Killer (very gruesom). Great stuff, I love him. I also loved ~ The 13th Hour, Think of a Number, Kill Me Once, Jennifer Hillier's Creep & Freak.

I like romantic suspense and enjoy ~ Catherine Coulter's FBI series, J.D. Robb's Eve Dallas series, Chelsea Cain's Gretchen series (though it's been boring me the last 2 books, the first few were good).

I compared our books. I read Wake, and it was ok, not my favorite thing ever but it was enjoyable. But I must say try Ready Player One!! One of my favorite books, EVER!! If I remember correctly, you're young, so read it near an older (30s-40s) person if you need help with any of the 80s references. There are TONS. I missed half of them because I was sheltered in the 80s but it's still a fun fun book! :)

Oh and , the most beautifully written book ever!! :D Not the above genres, but WONDERFUL!!

Nancy - I think Divergent is not written well at all and is not that great so far - not for me. I am 1/2 way through the book. My opinion.

The book picks way up over half way through - but then it ends very abruptly. I know there are sequels - but I literally turned the page and it said -Acknowledgements. I was like - Oh that was the conclusion? I will read Insurgent though.

So tru Brooke- The Night Circus had amazing visuals!! Honestly a great book! And what Khaled Hoisseini do you like Sarah? Divergent isn't for everyone; it's entertaining and fast paced but by no means perfect.
