I loved Life As We Knew It! And now I'm FINALLY in the mood to read Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow by Jessica Day George.

Buffy can be hard to get through in the first season, just because of Joss's inexperience, he hadn't learned to break the formula yet. The quality really improved after though. My favorites are the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th seasons.

I agree. THe first season was odd but by the second season is was much more put together. I didn't really care for the Angel series as much. The thought of him off fighting evil was just eh. Never really liked Cordy much so maybe that's why. Loved Lorne though.

I'm still having a hard time getting into Clockwork Angel and I have two books at the library waiting for me. (A Swift Pure Cry, The Windup Girl )
I may put Clockwork aside for a little bit

AWww really? I didn't like Cordy in Buffy, but in Angel I thought she was HILARIOUS!! Especially that part in the first season where she kisses Angel because she wants to give him her seer power! And he is like "Man, she's snapped!"

I am going to start a discusion thread for us to talk about Buffy, Angel and Roswell so that we don't totally hijack this one!

I read that it's written in a different format, so I'm hoping it's as good as the first. I've got 2 books ahead of it still. Have you read them all Kelly?

I have. The book that's written from Alex's perspective was harder for me to get through but still good. The continuation to the first book was scarier I thought.

I've read all three and I gotta say I didn't care for the middle book, and was angry with the third book.

I have held off reading the next two books. The first one was anxiety producing. Does the third one end hopefully????

None of those books are hopeful Alyson. Sad to say. That was the biggest downer series I've read.

I can't do it then...guess I won't be reading the two additional books in the series. First one was hard...not sure I can read another 500 pages of downer.

For me, it was a downer but at the same time I felt like I had to continue the story to see how it turned out.

Stayed up late to finish reading Five Flavors of Dumb by Anthony John. Really liked it despite some of my initial irritation with some of the technical stuff about deafness.

I liked The Scar. It was my first Mieville (and only so far) I've heard his other in the same world is darker, but this was pretty dark. His imagination is very inky. Not sure what that means, but that's the word to describe it in my head. :)

Also not YA, I started Brideshead Revisited today. Interesting beginning.

Beyond the Grave by Jude Watson. It's book four of the 39 Clues series. Hopefully there aren't thirty nine books or I'm gonna have to be done with the series.

I'm listening to Waiting for Normal but not really enjoying the narration. It's a MG book, which is fine, but I guess it wasn't what I was hoping for.

Plus, it's supposed to be set in NY (not in the "big city" though) but the characters all have twangs like they're from OK or AR or something. Do New Yorkers sometimes have twangs too??

No New Yorkers (which I used to be) have really heavy accents where the "r" is usually drawn out. No twang.

I am listening to The Replacement. It's a bit creepy, but I am enjoying it.

I read A Tale Dark and Grimm and The Strange Case of Origami Yoda today. Both are great middle grade reads. A Tale Dark and Grimm is a twist on Hansel & Gretel - I thought it was well done but would have to say it can be a little bit gory. If you have kids that are sensitive to that kind of stuff, I wouldn't recommend it to them. And The Strange Case of Origami Yoda is just hilarious and I have two copies at school and I can't keep them in. Someone always wants to be reading it.

I'm listening to Mockingbird on audio. My son has Aspergers, but not nearly as severe, so I'm not relating to it as much as I thought I might.

I've been reading Dead Until Dark I'd picked it up a while ago when True Blood had just come out and just never got around to reading it. I like it, apart from certain key characters missing, I'm surprised how true to the story the first season managed to be. The characters they added or enhanced are some of my favorites on the show however, so I do miss them a little in the book.

Oh you are not enjoying it as much?? I loved that book! To be fair I did read the second one first and go back to read the first one. I really liked Fate! Hope you start to enjoy it more! :D

I am reading three books right now Blue Fire, Down to the Wire and Spirited: A Retelling of "Beauty and the Beast" . . . I don't know which one I will finish first! Exciting!!

I was going to start Dracula, but I started The Princess Diaries instead. This is my first Meg Cabot, I've heard a lot of good things about her.
