What Are You Reading Now?
Alyson wrote: "Just finished reading The Total Tragedy of a Girl Named Hamlet. It was really a fun middle grade book."I have this one, Alyson, on my soon-to-be-read list. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
I think I have a love hate relationship with Patch. I hated him b/c he really is a jerk but then you get to know him throughout the book and a lot gets explained as to why he is that way. Plus he's funny! So finished Impossible and now reading Hunters of the Dusk from the Cirque Du Freak series.
I think I agree with Amy. I mostly hated him because he is really a creepy jerk throughout most of the book and then all that stuff where he was talking about how he was planning on killing her . . . but then he, well the people who have read the book know what he does in the end so I won't give that away. Anyway I am trying to decide how many stars to give it - still haven't written my review. . . .
Finished Hex Hall. It was really good. I loved Sophie. Now trying to decide between The Graveyard Book and The Van Alen Legacy.
I definitely would give Hush Hush five stars. I didn't like Patch but I kept reading, hoping he would be redeemed somehow!

I just finished Pride and Prejudice and absolutely adored it! I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it yet! Now I'm starting The Shining and am really excited for it!
Amy wrote: "There's going to be another one? anyone know the title?"I think it is Cresendo or something like that.

I just read Hex Hall yesterday and I really enjoyed it. Do you think there is going to be a sequel? I'm guessing yes, because there are unanswered questions. Now I have to wait a long time for it!
I also just read The Body Finder, and I really liked that one too, even more than Hex Hall.
I finished reading Enchanted Glass and really enjoyed it. I'm saddened to hear that Diana Wynne Jones has cancer. I hope she gets better and conquers the big C.I'm on page two of Incarceron. The action packed opening was too much for me, so I went to bed!

Yes, Hex Hall will be a trilogy. So two more books to come.

I recently read The Body finder and I loved it.
I cannot believe Diana Wynne Jones has CANCER!! SO SAD. I am reading Airhead. So far so good. . . Cresendo, not a bad name for a sequel to Hush Hush. Anyone know WHY Hush Hush was named Hush Hush? Didn't really get that. For anyone who was wondering I ended up giving Hush Hush four stars!

and Garth Stein's The Art of Racing in the Rain
"Hope you like Everlost, I sure did. I've moved on to Everwild now though I am reading at a much slower pace than I would like.
I'm currently reading Blackbringer, and I'm surprised by just how much I'm loving it. The faeries are old world, the mythology is fantastic, and the hero is a lot of fun.
I'm reading Peeps by Scott Westerfeld. But I've heard it's pretty gross (maybe creepy gross) so I'm a little nervous about it.
I didn't think it was that gross either... I didn't love it like the Uglies series, or even as much as the Midnighters but it was good. I have the second Peeps book waiting to be read on my bookshelf still.
I don't know. A friend of mine is three quarters of the way through and she said it's creepy because of all the parasite talk. I didn't know there's a second Peeps book. What's the title?
Amy PLEASE let me know what you think about Peeps. People have told me it is creepy/weird too!! Just started Beautiful Creatures and being the southern girl that I am I am loving the talk about the "War of Northern Agression" and "War Between the States". They got it exactly right - everyone over 60 calls it northern agression and everyone under calls it the war between the states. I am really enjoying the tone of this book! So far - amazing, but I am only 10 pages in!
I'm reading A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. I love the gothic, mystery and romantic elements. I'll be reading the 2nd part of the trilogy, Rebel Angels, soon. I hear that Libba Bray will be coming out with a new series called The Diviners in 2012. The series takes place in the 1920's. Should be interesting.

Arya - I loved Beautiful Creatures and I have had several opportunities to meet & hang with Kami & Margie who wrote the book and they are so amazing. It is nice when the books is great and the authors are fantastic too.
So far Peeps is a hard read. It seems very "scientific" because they explain about parasites and it just doesn't flow very well (for me). I usually don't have trouble reading books and finish them quickly but I'm struggling with this one! So far it's a little gross because they are very graphic about HOW the parasites work! Ick!
Alyson wrote: "Roshini wrote: "The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting."What do you think? I hear it is really good."
The reviews are promising, but I'm only up to chapter 2 so far. So far so good! But I just realised there are sequels?

What do you mean sequels? As in this is the beginning of a trilogy?

Not sure if it is a trilogy, but book 2 is due out next year. The title is on Ms Derting's goodreads page. I'm guessing book 1 didn't end with a cliffhanger?
Still reading Beautiful Creatures, it is good, but moving a bit slow for me (probably because I have been so busy!)
I finished listening to The Reckoning last night. I should have gone to bed earlier and finished it today. Stayed up way too late.
Arya wrote: "WOW - just finished Beautiful Creatures. Cannot wait for year Seventeen!!"Tell me about it! Beautiful Darkness is another one of the books I am impatiently waiting for!
Finished Susan Campbell Bartoletti's Hitler Youth: Growing Up in Hitler's Shadow and was deeply disturbed and fascinated, so I picked up her novel The Boy Who Dared.
