I have this one, Alyson, on my soon-to-be-read list. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Amy Okay now I see it. Thanks!

message 1804: by Arya (new)

Arya (izlandzadi) | 686 comments Hush Hush was intersting but it was definitely weird!

message 1805: by Bhumi (new)

Bhumi | 274 comments I agree, Arya!

message 1806: by Arya (new)

Arya (izlandzadi) | 686 comments Did you like Patch?

Alyson (Kid Lit Frenzy) (alybee930) | 446 comments Reading EVIL GENIUS by Catherine Jinks. Not sure...I think it is fine...just not my thing.

message 1808: by Amy (new)

Amy I think I have a love hate relationship with Patch. I hated him b/c he really is a jerk but then you get to know him throughout the book and a lot gets explained as to why he is that way. Plus he's funny!

So finished Impossible and now reading Hunters of the Dusk from the Cirque Du Freak series.

Kellyflower | 136 comments Arya wrote: "Did you like Patch?"

I really liked Patch!

message 1810: by Arya (new)

Arya (izlandzadi) | 686 comments I think I agree with Amy. I mostly hated him because he is really a creepy jerk throughout most of the book and then all that stuff where he was talking about how he was planning on killing her . . . but then he, well the people who have read the book know what he does in the end so I won't give that away. Anyway I am trying to decide how many stars to give it - still haven't written my review. . . .

message 1811: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (angelashly) | 23 comments Finished Hex Hall. It was really good. I loved Sophie.

Now trying to decide between The Graveyard Book and The Van Alen Legacy.

message 1812: by Amy (new)

Amy I definitely would give Hush Hush five stars. I didn't like Patch but I kept reading, hoping he would be redeemed somehow!

Me too. Can't wait for the next one to see what happens.

Arya (izlandzadi) | 686 comments Oooh there will be another one? Sounds promising!

message 1815: by Amy (new)

Amy There's going to be another one? anyone know the title?

message 1816: by Jessika (new)

Jessika Hoover (jessalittlebooknerd) I just finished Pride and Prejudice and absolutely adored it! I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it yet!

Now I'm starting The Shining and am really excited for it!

Ashley (angelashly) | 23 comments Amy wrote: "There's going to be another one? anyone know the title?"
I think it is Cresendo or something like that.

I just read Hex Hall yesterday and I really enjoyed it. Do you think there is going to be a sequel? I'm guessing yes, because there are unanswered questions. Now I have to wait a long time for it!

I also just read The Body Finder, and I really liked that one too, even more than Hex Hall.

message 1819: by Paula (last edited Apr 27, 2010 12:54PM) (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I finished reading Enchanted Glass and really enjoyed it. I'm saddened to hear that Diana Wynne Jones has cancer. I hope she gets better and conquers the big C.

I'm on page two of Incarceron. The action packed opening was too much for me, so I went to bed!

Yes, Hex Hall will be a trilogy. So two more books to come.

I recently read The Body finder and I loved it.

Arya (izlandzadi) | 686 comments I cannot believe Diana Wynne Jones has CANCER!! SO SAD. I am reading Airhead. So far so good. . . Cresendo, not a bad name for a sequel to Hush Hush. Anyone know WHY Hush Hush was named Hush Hush? Didn't really get that. For anyone who was wondering I ended up giving Hush Hush four stars!

Alyson (Kid Lit Frenzy) (alybee930) | 446 comments Finished reading Evil Genius. A little confusing but I liked it by the end.

Hope you like Everlost, I sure did. I've moved on to Everwild now though I am reading at a much slower pace than I would like.

Andrea (alwright1) | 4 comments Blackbringer (Dreamdark) by Laini Taylor I'm currently reading Blackbringer, and I'm surprised by just how much I'm loving it. The faeries are old world, the mythology is fantastic, and the hero is a lot of fun.

message 1828: by Amy (new)

Amy I'm reading Peeps by Scott Westerfeld. But I've heard it's pretty gross (maybe creepy gross) so I'm a little nervous about it.

message 1829: by Angela Sunshine (new)

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) I didn't think it was that gross either... I didn't love it like the Uglies series, or even as much as the Midnighters but it was good. I have the second Peeps book waiting to be read on my bookshelf still.

message 1830: by Amy (new)

Amy I don't know. A friend of mine is three quarters of the way through and she said it's creepy because of all the parasite talk. I didn't know there's a second Peeps book. What's the title?

message 1831: by Arya (new)

Arya (izlandzadi) | 686 comments Amy PLEASE let me know what you think about Peeps. People have told me it is creepy/weird too!!

Just started Beautiful Creatures and being the southern girl that I am I am loving the talk about the "War of Northern Agression" and "War Between the States". They got it exactly right - everyone over 60 calls it northern agression and everyone under calls it the war between the states. I am really enjoying the tone of this book! So far - amazing, but I am only 10 pages in!

message 1832: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (lesld) | 27 comments I'm reading A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. I love the gothic, mystery and romantic elements. I'll be reading the 2nd part of the trilogy, Rebel Angels, soon. I hear that Libba Bray will be coming out with a new series called The Diviners in 2012. The series takes place in the 1920's. Should be interesting.

Arya - I loved Beautiful Creatures and I have had several opportunities to meet & hang with Kami & Margie who wrote the book and they are so amazing. It is nice when the books is great and the authors are fantastic too.

message 1834: by Amy (new)

Amy So far Peeps is a hard read. It seems very "scientific" because they explain about parasites and it just doesn't flow very well (for me). I usually don't have trouble reading books and finish them quickly but I'm struggling with this one! So far it's a little gross because they are very graphic about HOW the parasites work! Ick!

Alyson (Kid Lit Frenzy) (alybee930) | 446 comments I started SEA by Heidi R Kling. So far I am loving it.

message 1836: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I put down Incarceron for now and I am reading The Lightning Thief.

The reviews are promising, but I'm only up to chapter 2 so far. So far so good! But I just realised there are sequels?

What do you mean sequels? As in this is the beginning of a trilogy?

Not sure if it is a trilogy, but book 2 is due out next year. The title is on Ms Derting's goodreads page. I'm guessing book 1 didn't end with a cliffhanger?

message 1843: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (angelashly) | 23 comments I started The Carrie Diaries last night. Pretty good. I got about 160 pages in.

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) Finished Susan Campbell Bartoletti's Hitler Youth: Growing Up in Hitler's Shadow and was deeply disturbed and fascinated, so I picked up her novel The Boy Who Dared.
