Alyson (Kid Lit Frenzy) (alybee930) | 446 comments I have seldom given up on a book that I have spent hours trying to read and gotten to 350 pages in but I agree with Misty. It was so disappointing. It was one of two "did not finishes" of 2009 for me.

Misty wrote: "Not to deter you, because you should read whatever you want, but Inkheart is one of those books I LOATHE and wish I hadn't wasted my time on."

message 1468: by [deleted user] (new)

Reading I Capture the Castle, which I am adoring.

Also reading Bridge to Terabithia, which I'm finding a bit dull, and a little irritating.

Alyson (Kid Lit Frenzy) (alybee930) | 446 comments If you like ghost stories you can try Shadowed Summer by Saundra Mitchell. And How to Say Good-bye in Robot is a quirky but fun read.

message 1477: by Roshini (new)

Roshini Thanks Alyson, haven't heard of those, but I'll go look them up. In the meantime I've started on Lucky by Alice Sebold.

Alyson (Kid Lit Frenzy) (alybee930) | 446 comments Lucky sounds like a difficult story to read.

message 1479: by Natalee (new)

Natalee (nataleem00) | 459 comments I am still making my way through The Dark Divine. I am really enjoying it. I wasn't expecting the supernatural twist in it. And being a lover of anything supernatural and YA, I am happy with the path it's taking. I hadn't read much about the book before reading it and the back cover didn't hint to it. Anyways, I'll keep ya posted... so far, so good!

message 1480: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (readr4ever) | 342 comments I'm trying to get to If I Stay, but I've gotten sidetracked from my 2010 reading list already by the Hamish Macbeth mysteries by M.C. Beaton, nice little cozy mysteries set in the Highlands of Scotland. With the snow we just received, cozy mysteries are just the ticket.

Jennifer (JenJen1221) | 623 comments I'm reading Audrey, Wait!.

I'm going to have to try this one. I have it on my shelf (well, one of my many book shelves--LOL).

Alyson (Kid Lit Frenzy) (alybee930) | 446 comments I finished The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner...can't wait to read the rest of the series. Started "Al Capone Does My Shirts" and it is a fun read so far. Good Middle Grades book.

message 1488: by Sara ♥ (new)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 719 comments I'm slowly but surely working my way through Geektastic: Stories from the Nerd Herd. Some stories are better than others... I think it really depends on where your geekish tendencies lie. I love Star Trek, Star Wars, and Battlestar Galactica (the new version), so of course I'm preferring stories that have something to do with those... (The first story was amazing!) :)

It is, I can only read a few pages at a time. I'm wondering if I should read something lighter in the meantime.
