What Are You Reading Now?
I just finished Uglies by Scott Westerfeld and was all ready to continue with Pretties, but I realized that I didn't have it. I thought I had bought the first two books in the series but had only bought the first one. So, I'm reading a Hamish Macbeth mystery by M.C. Beaton, A Highland Christmas. I always enjoy Hamish. I guess Pretties will have to wait.
I'm reading Love on Cue which is just what I need after reading Lincoln: A Life of Purpose and Power and William McKinley... :)
I just finished reading "The Hunger Games" and now I have to wait for the book "Catching Fire" I can't wait, I really liked the first book. I work in a library and so I get most of my books thru interlibrary loan, my head librarian is not all that into YA books, so I am going to jump into a book I just got called "The Glass Maker's Daughter" by V. Briceland, hope it keeps me entertained til I get Catching Fire.
I picked up Prettiesby Scott Westerfeld today at Barnes and Noble, so now I can continue the series. Starting it tonight.

On the third book (final for me since I read the 4th recently when it came out) Starcatcher book Peter and the Secret of Rundoon.

It DEFINITELY was! I thought it was awesome!
I'm currently reading "Fire" by Kristin Cashore, and I have to say that I am not loving it as much as I loved Graceling. I wasn't able to put down Graceling at all, but I'm not having that problem with "Fire". It's good though. Just not "OH-MAN-I-MUST-FINISH!" good. So far. I have hopes that it will pick up soon. :)
I loved that series! What do you think of it?I took everyone's recommendations about Neil Gaiman seriously and just finished listening to The Graveyard Book read by the author. Wow -I really enjoyed getting to know "Bod" although the ending was a surprise since he was only 15 by that time! Any news of a sequel planned?

I just started Let It Snow: Three Holiday Stories by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle.
I am starting Ice by Sarah Beth Durst. I'm not sure if I am going to get to Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow, so since I owned this one, I decided to read it :)
I just got the 4th book - I really love the books also - are teens very involved in these books? This is one of the authors (or team of authors) that I would love to see involved in the "Teen Stage" for our event - but that is more because I like the books - I haven't seen a lot of teens/YA reading them. ;-pBTW - the Graveyard Book is the first book that I have ever recommended that people LISTEN to rather than read...Neil does such a great job of telling the story in his own voice...

It's pretty funny. I'm enjoying it.

This is on my TBR this month!
Jennifer wrote: "I'm reading An Abundance of Katherines"I loved An Abundance of Katherines. It's my favorite John Green -- some of the others are too heavy, but this one has a nice, light, humorous touch.
I am reading Uglies - Scott Westerfeld cos I heard loads of good things about this book. Here are the others I am gonna try and read over the next month:
Uglies - Scott Westerfeld (Currently Reading)
Pretties - Scott Westerfeld
Specials - Scott Westerfeld
The Secret Hour - Scott Westerfeld
Touching Darkness - Scott Westerfeld
Blue Noon - Scott Westerfeld
Housewife in Love - Alison Penton Harper
Sliver of Truth - Lisa Unger
Dream On - Bali Rai
Parasite Positive - Scott Westerfeld
I will be done reading Rant by the end of the work day. I thus will start Zipporah Wife of Moses on my ride home.
Just finished Freak the Mighty and I really liked it. The style is fresh and it would appeal to young (jr high, probably) boys. I think good non-fantasy lit for boys is hard to find!
Robyn wrote: "I just got the 4th book - I really love the books also - are teens very involved in these books? Am almost done with Academy 7. Had to talk myself into putting it down at 2am. This is becoming a habit.

There's another in the series, too. It's called Extras.
Peeps (parasite +) is fun and has a great boy "ick" factor. (That one has a sequel, too, called The Last Days -- not that I'm trying to make your list longer or anything. :P)
I just finished Let It Snow: Three Holiday Stories by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle. All three stories were SUPER cute, and they were interconnected, not just random stories about Christmas lumped together, which was fun. I thoroughly enjoyed it!I'm just starting the audiobook version of Alice's Adventures In Wonderland & Through The Looking-Glass. It's pretty random so far! Also, my next book-book will be Fire.

Misty, got both of those on order from library hon x

Thanks for posting your little thoughts on it : ) I'll read it after Paper Towns (possibly at the end of this week or sometime next week)

Ooh, I love those covers. Very evocative, though I think maybe the originals are more fitting with the actual story.
That's SO FUNNY, because I was just thinking about how much I DON'T like those covers! To each her own, eh?
Uggh! I hate those covers I liked the old ones with the faces on them, finished Tunnels onto Deeper.
I just finished the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland portion and am on to the Through the Looking Glass portion of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass, read by Donada Peters. It's WACKY. I think Lewis Carroll have been *insert funny euphemism for doing crazy drugs here*... yeah.
I like the old covers better for the Ugly series, but I like the edginess of the new ones. I finally finished Pretties and enjoyed it, but I think I liked Uglies a little better. I plan on reading Specials soon, but I am taking a break from the series to read the new Sue Grafton, U is for Undertow.
