sorry *blush*...

STarting I Am the Cheese, which is a re-read for me. very eerie, and strange, and compelling. Lovely use of language and atmosphere... I'm glad I found this again.

Misty | 1505 comments I've never been able to get into anything by Cormier. I don't think he can write. (Sorry, since you obviously do, if this is a reread, Hayes)

Kirsten (kirsten27) | 53 comments I wanted to love JSMN but I didn't and had to give it up. I am currently reading Catching Fire and loving it.

I've just read this one, which I really like. Couldn't say about the others.

Roshini Ok finished City of Bones...and for once, I have absolutely no interest in continuing the series, felt like I had to drag myself to the finish line. Would appreciate it if anyone who has read the series could offer input (and perhaps change my mind about not reading the other two).

Kirsten (kirsten27) | 53 comments I loved City of Bones. I cared about the characters, and was interested in their world. I enjoyed the trilogy, and was psyched to hear there may be a book four. However, if you didn't like it, you didn't like it. There have been lots of books that other people loved that just didn't do it for me. I think that's just the way it is with books.

I enjoyed the trilogy. There were things that had my daughter not read them before me that would have kept me from going any further but I am glad I continued on.

I just got Leviathan in the mail the other day (!). I want to read Evil Genius, too. Though I think next up will probably be Looking for Alaska, which someone gave me.

Susan, Absolutely True Diary is one of my favorite ya books. Enjoy!

I have it but I haven't started it, please tell me that I am not going to regret buying it. It sounded so good to me. I am reading Black Rain- A Thriller that I won as an ARC on here that I am reading right now.

message 1288: by Kellee (new)

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) Michele,

I know that it is supposed to be good... I just need to hear a true human being tell me that it is.

Maybe I will put down Black Rain and pick it up and read it.

message 1290: by Misty (new)

Misty | 1505 comments READ IT!!!!! It is a little hard for some people to get into I think, because it is very different. But it is one of the most unique books I've read in awhile, and Todd is such a great character in a book of great characters. There are a lot of issues raised (ie food for thought), and it's one of those books that gets in your head and takes over a bit. I think it really does become incredibly fast paced and edge-of-your-seat reading, and I LOOOOOOVED it. Easy 5 stars for me (and I can be pretty nit-picky).

Adequate pep? I can do more...

message 1291: by Kellee (new)

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) Misty,

Thank you. I will let you know if I need more pep talks in the next 400 pages. Luckily a weekend is coming up, so I can curl up with it for a while.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ รђ๏รђคภคђ (shoey924) | 17 comments I have to back up david in his encouragement of The Maze Runner!!
As I said in my review, it's a combination of Hunger Games, The Lord of the Flies, and the TV show LOST!
Fantastic story line and character development! I simply can't wait for the sequel. It's torture waiting for sequels. I think I need to catch up on all the old books I've set aside beacuse these new books keep coming out. All they do is get me fired up for nothing because it's at least a year before another one comes out! Ack!
Anyway, sorry for the rant, get the Maze Runner asap! :-)

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ รђ๏รђคภคђ (shoey924) | 17 comments I forgot to say...

I'm currently finishing up Madapple and just started Hush, Hush.
They are both really good! Hush, Hush is so addictive, I had to force myself to put it down last night so I could go to bed. And madapple is very unique and not at all what I expected. The author really did her research! There is a ton of religious history, mythology, and even botany in there which is really cool to me as I really love knowledge of any kind. I find all of her waxing on about ancient languages, jewish mythology, and plant properties fascinating! This may be a turn off for others though.
It also has quite the murder mystery going on ala Jodi Picoult!
I'll let you know how these turn out!

message 1294: by Susan (new)
