So I just downloaded Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norris...has anyone read that yet? I am excited about it...it sounds really good!

Downloaded? reading or listening...this is a daunting read that at the start can be off putting - but stick with it! It is one of my all time faves!

In my opinion....it will get a little better but not much...there are parts that keep you interested but to me they were far & few.

David...you will DEFINITELY have to read it and let me know what you thought of it because I have been wanting to read that and I haven't gotten to it. :)

Guess I'll keep reading, I find it really hard to put a book down once I've started it. Thanks for the tip Jinnifer!

I actually really like that series, which surprised me. Minus the shallowness of the richer characters, I think the storyline is pretty rich with history and religious references--I am looking forward to reading the third and fourth books.

Now reading two mysteries, a classic ..."
I miss the Lightnint Thief series - it was awesome. Must reread it. I'm working on the Peter and the Starcatchers series - amazingly well done too.
BYT - it's great to see so many new people here in Wild Things!

I just finished the Percy Jackson series- I loved it! Wish it could go on and on :)
I haven't read Peter and the Starcatchers yet- recommend?
I do get to meet Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson next Friday, though!!!

RECOMMENDED! Just got the fourth book

it's sitting on my bedside table.
P.S. How do you quote?

I just finished Found and I enjoyed it, it was definitely a YA and maybe even a JF. I am now starting Sent...
I think Haddix has already started the 3rd installment in the Missing series.
Then I am going to read

Lucky you to meet them - have always loved Dave Barry's humor books but am just blown away by the creativity of the 2 of them together!! Am about to start #4 - oh tell them the audiobooks reader is pretty amazing too! Though I think Mr. Barry could possibly hold his own if he tried. I totally agree with David of Wild Things - RECOMMENDED. The books make the Disney movie "myth-like" which is the beauty of their writing.

I just started listening to the first Peter book on audiobook- it is a very good audiobook- very good voices!
I will pass your love onto them :)
I just finished Sent. It was really good and so was Found. I am interested to read the rest of that series when it comes out.
Now on to Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell

Hayes, JSMN is not YA, when I first got interested in it I wasn't sure if it was YA or just fantasy. But it is an Adult fantasy book. To tell you the truth, I totally could not get into that book at all! I tried to push through it as much as I could and I hate to not finish books but I couldn't finish this one. It wasn't a bad book, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I really hope you like it.
So far I am liking PJ I think I about to get past all the introduction for Percy and into the really fun stuff! :)

A lot of people have said that... it seems to be a love it or hate it kind of thing. It is awfully long! It's sitting there on the shelf... eying me...

Sent I felt was a bit of a let-down and seemed to be written to a younger audience. not sure how to explain it but it felt "fake"."
Hm. I actually disagree. I felt that Sent was a great extension of Found and beautifully mixed history with adventure and fiction so that young adults and juveniles would enjoy and understand it.
