In the margins of one thousand pages lake
where the trees of all shades of cover colors reside,
there lurks a camp that the most devout of all readers wish to find.
It's name is Camp Gottaread and I've got to say,
action and adventure are mere moments away.
Just pick up a book and what you most desire,
can be found within its pages in only one, two, or possibly several hours.
Take a trip, live in a castle, or gain mysterious powers,
for books are the genies which make everything we desire ours.

Lisarenee | 7659 comments Sarah wrote: "What counts for the hike activity. How long does a book need to be? Or can we skip an activity?"

You can choose which activities you want to do, you do not have to do them all unless you wish to. The book you choose as your "hiking" book could be something huge like The Passage or a classic, like War and Peace or it could just be a book that is out of your normal comfort zone/genre (perhaps a nonfiction book) that you've heard so many good things about that you've considered reading it, but something has held you back from doing so. For me that would probably be the The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. It's something only you can decide.

Lisarenee | 7659 comments Tahlia wrote: "Hello im new to this group and im not to sure what to do in this group could somebody please explain to me?? :)

Hi Tahlia. This is a challenge with some guidelines, but ultimately you get to tweak it to yourself. This is a three month challenge so the first thing you should do is figure out how many books you think you can or want to read in that time span? With every challenge we give you options so you can feel comfortable with what you choose. We understand everyone reads at their own pace and we try to accommodate them. If you read fast, you can read more books. If you read slower, then select a smaller number of books. With this challenge we hope you can read at least 1 book a month (if you can't just expand the time period to suit you--we won't get mad. Nothing is set in stone. These are just guidelines and we're totally flexible about them. Our main goal is to encourage you to read.)

Once you establish your time period, decide which books you wish to read. Just remember to select books from the categories we established at the beginning of the challenge. You can mix, match, or do all of one type. Like I said, this is a challenge that you can adjust to you. If this challenge doesn't suit, I'm confident another challenge in the group will.

Does this help?
