Please Introduce Yourself

Hi and welcome Maia! Enjoy and happy reading! :)
Hi Maia and welcome to the group. I hope you find what you are looking for in classics here. May I suggest that you look through some of the Women's Century challenges. You should be able to find some great classics that people are reading that are written by women.
Here is a link to that folder and happy reading .

Thanks Kathy! That's actually one of the threads that caught my eye, it seems full of great book recommendations! :)

I'm interested in the beginnings of horror and sci-fi, so I started reading a few more obscure or foreign classics like Capek (R.U.R and War with the newts) and Abbott Abbotts Flatland.

Hi Jon, welcome! You're in good company here! I love William Shakespeare and I don't think his writing is too old! I loved Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson and 1984 by George Orwell. I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here! Happy reading! :)

I hope to change that this year by holding myself more accountable and connecting with lovers of the classics. Thank you again Loretta for the invitation :)

Hi Robin, welcome! I'm sure you'll enjoy the classics we read here and the discussions with members! So jump in anywhere and happy reading! :)

I'm Sabina, from Uruguay. I just graduated from Cinema School and now I’m working on some projects and trying to write. I have been an avid reader all my life, love to read classics but also modern literary fiction, fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction and nonfiction… so it's easy to fall behind with my TBR classics list.
I hope that this group, which I find very welcoming and well organized, will help me catch up while generating interesting conversations. :) Please excuse my English, It’s my second language.
Looking forward to meeting all of you!
Sabina
