Karin Hi, I'm Karin and found you through at least one of my GR friends. Since I have just started rereading (this time by audio and am enjoying it far better than in print) Don Quixote and am starting Wake-Robin and have The Pickwick Papers in my tbr for another reading challenge (wills start that one after Wake-Robin) and also have a 4th classic to read before Feb 1, I will wait before joining in on one of the group reads here. I cut my reading teeth on classics my parents had at home, both for children and adults (well, I read more than classics, naturally) and have a soft spot for certain ones in particular.

I'm happy to have found this group!

Flor (florgenghini) | 1 comments Hi! My name is Florencia, i'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I'm a graphic designer and student. I guess the firsts books I've read are mostly classics and lately, it's been a while since I read one. Until this day, The Picture of Dorian Gray is one of my favorite books of all time. I think the idea of the group is great, so I joined right away :)

message 3956: by Brina (new)

Brina Welcome Karin and Florencia. So glad that you both joined here to read classics and I look forward to seeing you both in the group.

message 3957: by Halle (new)

Halle | 3 comments Hello everyone. My name is Halle. I am relatively new to goodreads. I like a lot of different genres and have been working on reading a variety of books. I've read a couple of classics and enjoyed most of them. My two favorites are The Great Gatsby and Siddhartha. Going forward I would like to incorporate more classics into my reading selection and thought joining this group might help. I'd also love to have more friends on goodreads with different reading interests. I like seeing what other people are reading and what their opinions are.

message 3958: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Scott (Ashley_BeautifulBrownSkin) | 3 comments Hey everyone my name is Ashley, and I am literally addicted to books. I won't say I'm necessarily new to goodreads, but rather newly devoted. I am 23 and I am a full time college student finishing up by BA in Psychology, then on to grad school. When my face is not in a book or doing homework(which is rare), then I am either cooking or listening to music. I try to squeeze friends in every now and then (kidding I do have a social life.....somewhat). I read a ton of African American literature, but I do enjoy classics as well. I also like YA, romance, fiction, biographies, etc. I am honestly open to just about anything.

message 3959: by Brina (new)

Brina Welcome, Halle, and Ashley glad you found this great group. I hope you both enjoy it here.

I've just started reading classics over the past couple of years and have only read a few too, but I'm also interested in reading more. I've been having fun checking out different genres and finding where my interests are as I go into my adult years.

Allison | 55 comments Hello everyone! I'm Allie from Michigan. I think I joined this group way back when I joined Goodreads a million years ago but then I downsized groups. Now my reading goal for 2017 is to participate in more group/buddy reads and to do that, I needed more groups! Plus I love the Classics. That and Historical Fiction are my faves. Looking forward to reading books with all of you!

Well you can using some html (just remove the space before img and the the one after "/ at the end of the code)

image: < img src="https://www.goodreads.com/image..." width="40" height="100" alt="description"/ > (Width must be 0-400, Height must be 0-1000, alt is a description of the image. All three are optional, but recommended.)

Theresa~OctoberLace (octoberlace) | 17 comments Hello! My name is Theresa (screen name OctoberLace~Theresa), and I actually joined this group on January 17th. I live in Texas but grew up in New York, married with two daughters. I love all sorts of literature, but classics are my favorite. I really like the mix of books you seem to read here.

Pardon me if I'm a quiet member for a while. Long story short, I took my husband to the ER on January 4th after his doctor said the symptoms we described would probably need IV antibiotics. It turned out he had liver and kidney failure, and spent most of the month in the hospital and nursing facility. I brought him home on Thursday, and he's now under hospice care. Picking up the books the group is reading will mean one less choice I need to make right now. I've already gathered several books from your January, February, and March selections to read.

Right now I'm reading Can You Forgive Her by Anthony Trollope, after which I'll start Hard Times by Charles Dickens, one of the February selections. I'll pop in occasionally in that thread.
