Please Introduce Yourself

Hi and welcome Rasha! Enjoy and happy reading! :)

Thank you! Definitely give Jane a try; most of people that I recommend it to find the first few chapters a little trying but end up loving it.

Thank you!

Thanks! I hope so too :-)

Thanks Kathleen! And I'm so glad to hear that; I find myself loving something new about it every time I re-read it.

Hi Linda and welcome! We're glad you found our group! You should check out the books we're reading for the month of December and check out our bookshelf. That will give you a starting point. My personal favorite is Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Enjoy and happy reading! :)

My name is Ruth and I'm from El Paso Texas.
I love reading all genres especially the classics and fantasy.
This seems like a great group and I can't wait to get started!

Hi and welcome Ruth! We are a nice group! Enjoy and happy reading! :)

Miriam from Australia. Love classics and fantasy.
Hoping to read more classics next year! #readinggoals"
Hi! Welcome Miriam! We're glad you've joined us to read more classics! Enjoy! Happy reading! :)

Hi, Linda, I see you have Pride and Prejudice on your list to read. That is a great place to start in my opinion. I love Victorian novels and that one is so enjoyable. But also, I recommend Dickens, I love Great Expectations. What classics did you read in college?

thanks,
Jonathan

Hi and welcome Jonathan! You're in good company here with your list of favorites! I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here! Happy reading! :)

My name is Karin and live in Belgium. I love to write, read and craft.
At the moment I am attempting to read all the "BBC's top 100 books everyone should read". I like to broaden my horizons and read books I would normally not pick. I just finished 1984 and am currently reading His dark materials by Phillip Pullman (love it).
I'm looking forward to participating in discussions and discovering "new" classics to read.

;o)
seriously though, Welcome! :o)

I'm currently a senior in high school and have never really read many classics unless it was for school, so this school year I'm gonna try to read some more classics than usual.

Welcome Manda!
That 101 Year Challenge is a fantastic idea!
I was born in 1964 so I might pinch that idea and do something similar myself!
a quick search for 1864 reveals Jules Verne's Journey To The Centre Of The Earth which by curious coincidence is one of my faves, so that puts me off to a good start!
Another great day to welcome so many new members. Hi and welcome to Adrian, Manda, Franzi, & Quyen! So glad to have you all here reading classics with us. Welcome, welcome.

The 101 Challenge is a cool idea! I may do this as well!

Thank you!! I can't wait!

They do look like a lot of fun. I've tried a few challenges before, but was unable to because of work and school. So I am going to hunker down and read a lot this year!

I am excited, thank you :)

Congratulations on your graduation and welcome aboard!

Hey thank you! :)

I'm Jane, I live in London and I grew up in a home with classic literature and Agatha Christie books, so I had an early start to classics!
My favourite author is Edgar Allan Poe and I'm just about to jump into reading The Birds for this month's short read :-)
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
