Please Introduce Yourself

I'm looking forward to discussing classics with you!"
Thanks, Andrea!

I'm glad you'll find some extra time for reading now and hope that you find some more favourite books with us! :)"
Thank you, Pink! I've peeked ahead, and I'll be tempted to reread and discuss Frankenstein and Lord of the Rings in the coming months! This group chooses some wonderful books!

Welcome Melora! I just joined this group in July, and I think this is a great group and yes, they pick a lot of wonderful books that I have yet to read. That is one reason why I like the Revisit the Shelf category.

Thank you, Renee! Yes, "Revisit the Shelf" is a neat idea -- very fitting for a classics reading group!

Hi and welcome Melora! So happy you decided to introduce yourself and glad to have you here! Yes, we do read an array of books, something for everyone, which is nice! I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here! Happy reading!

Thanks, Loretta! Yes, I really like the generous selection of books offered here for discussion each month! I will have a hard time choosing which to read -- always a lovely problem to have!

Oh, yes! Problems like that are welcomed! :)

Thank you, Kathy! It's wonderful to have a place online to talk books!
Hi Everyone, I'm Laura from the UK. Have always loved the classics, along with most other types of fiction, but haven't read as many recently as I'd like (and there's never enough time to get to them all) so have joined this group to try and give myself a bit of a push to read a few more. Looking forward to discussing with you all

Thank you, Kathy! Now that I've "dipped a toe in" with We Have Always Lived in the Castle, taken a closer look at your shelves, and enjoyed such a friendly welcome here, I'm really looking forward to more reading and discussions with this group.
Hi,
I’m Lena. I’m a student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in art with an emphasis on photography. I enjoy reading all kinds of books, but my preference seems to lean more towards non-fiction. Recently, I got into this habit of reading so many books at once to the point of losing track of what I’m reading, and so I decided to join a group to get myself motivated and become more focused. I only read very few classics, but I can tell I’ll enjoy reading more. My favorite book is Wuthering Heights. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Hello and welcome my fellow favorite book person! Wuthering Heights is my absolute favorite book of all time! Glad you've joined the group! Enjoy and happy reading! :)

Hello and welcome Elena! :)

I am currently studying architecture.
Reading has also been my rescue from stress, bad moods or loneliness. At first I thought books to only be a passage to a secret and magical world, in which I would lose myself and had to slowly learn to live by its rules, tradition, culture. But as I grew, I found myself interested more in the characters, in the ideas, in the author, rather than the plot itself. ( that's why I am extremely scared of buying new books, written by authors that are foreign to me ) So, I decided to join this group, to share ideas, opinions about authors, their books, and to discover other similar authors, perhaps even gain the courage to try something new. ( Because I always read the same ones ). I love classics ( I rarely read contemporary fiction ) and I will never give up on reading them ( first priority ) . My favorite authors are Kazantzakis , Dostoyevsky, Dickens, Tolkien and Steinbeck. :)
I also love drawing, photography and architecture !

While I love GoodReads for tracking books and feed my growing TBR list, I'm hoping to become involved in a group that shares my love of reading :)

Hi and welcome Andreea! Wow! You're preaching to the choir! I don't like buying new books either for the exact same reason you mentioned! That's why I decided to go a completely different route and read just classics and, obviously, the reason why I joined this group! You'll find great discussions here with our members and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. Happy reading! :)

Hi, welcome Christine! Lots of members have said the same thing, myself included, that we're all trying to play catch up on reading classics! I'm sure you'll enjoy the books that we and the discussions! So, happy reading! :)

Hi and welcome Chidi! I am sure you are super busy with your residency but glad that your leisure time activity is reading and now spending time with us to read classics and discuss them! Enjoy and happy reading! :)

I'm loving it. I'm actually in a difficult place with my dad and the moment so i can relate a whole lot to the plot.
