Pink | 5491 comments I love audiobooks, especially for long and winding Victorian classics. I've listed to all of Austen's novels narrated by Juliet Stevenson, which made doing chores much more enjoyable!

Louis Arroyo | 23 comments Hello to everyone.

I'm Louis and I live in New York. I am very happy to join a group that has so many interesting individuals that share my love for classic's.

I have a M.A in public communication and I am currently making plans to start my Ph.D in some field where I can sit around and think big thoughts and not make any money for doing it :)

My reading interest covers a wide range: fiction, historical, biography's, western's, classical literature, sci-fi,fantasy, crime mysteries, science, etc. I try to keep an open mind when it comes to books ... stepping outside your comfort zone can be a good thing.

Looking forward to being part of the group.

Brady Parkin Hi, I'm Brady. I have been on Goodreads for what feels like forever but have never joined a group. I figured since I love the classics I have read and really want to read more that this would be a good group for me. My favorite classics include Crime and Punishment as well as The Great Gatsby. The #1 thing on my life's bucket list is to read Anna Karenina. It is my "mountain book". Very intimidating. Anyhow, I look forward to being a part of this group.

Zane Gray Hey all, I'm Zane...I joined Goodreads late last year, but it's quickly become one of my most used apps- it really has reenergized and focused my love of reading. Lately I've been reading mostly essays and novels which lean towards postmodern, but in the past I've greatly enjoyed classic literature. So, I've joined this group to both revisit some favorites and discover some new greats! My favorite lit authors include: Robert Penn Warren, Faulkner, Chekhov, and Borges.

Chandler Brett (chandlerbrett) Hey, Fellow Readers!

My mother was an English teacher, so I got into books early. I love British literature from Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, Charles Dickens to Joseph Conrad, Graham Greene, C. S. Lewis, and J. R. R. Tolkien. But since I live in the United States, I have a special place for Thoreau, Hawthorne, Melville, Twain, Cather, Steinbeck, Faulkner, etc.

I also have an interest in multicultural reads--Amy Tan, Louise Erdrich, August Wilson, Maya Angelou, N. Scott Momaday, Shusaku Endo, Helena Viramontes, Oscar Hijuelos, etc.

I've also taken up the pen myself, and you'll see this list influencing my writing.

Hi all! I am Lisa Ann and reside in the US. After needing to cut back on my partipation on Goodreads a few years ago, I am trying to get back into participating within some lively group discussions.

Sometimes I have a mental image of not enjoying classics very much, but then I look back on the types of books I have read since joining Goodreads in 2013 and realize I have liked a significant proportion of them. I am glad this groups also includes New School, Short Classics and Revisit the Shelf, as I am hoping that will improve my chances for finding some enjoyable books to read.

One of my favorite books so far this year is Rebecca and I am looking forward to clearing out some additional classics off my tbr list, such as Out of Africa.

Wreade1872 | 943 comments Hi all, this seems an interesting place to hang out. I'm currently reading things referenced in the 'League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' graphic novels.
Which anyone aware of those comics will know, contains a LOT of classic stuff!
Anyway look forward to discussing some of it with you :) .

Pink | 5491 comments Welcome Wreade, I'm glad you think this is a good place to hang out. We're all friendly here! I loved the classic references in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen too, although I've only seen the film and haven't read the graphic novels. It's great when older books are referenced in newer works of fiction. I look forward to discussing some of these with you soon :)
