Hi Poliana! Fancy meeting you here you here! This is an awesome group! Enjoy! 😊

Hi and welcome Vicki! We are an interesting group and I know you'll enjoy yourself here! I also read A Christmas Carol every year! It puts me in the Christmas mood!

Hi and welcome Odette! Best of luck with your planning for your 2018 bingo! Meanwhile, enjoy yourself here and happy reading! 😊

I saw I have a few of the same novels on my own tbr list, and this looks like a wonderful place to join. Thank you for allowing me to join. I have already added a couple more from your list of books to mine. I look forward to be reading more classics. Also, I checked out some of the "personal challenges" I hope I may borrow some of the ideas for my own challenges to keep me focus for 2018. :)

Hi Sherri and welcome to the group. So glad that you have joined us. And feel free to borrow what you like for your own challenges.

Hi and welcome Erin! And rectify it you will! Our group really is encouraging when it comes to reading the classics! I know you'll enjoy yourself here! Happy reading!

I have an eclectic taste in books. I bounce all over as to what I read, both fiction & non-fiction. I'm currently about to finish Proust's work, Remembrance of Things Past Volumes 1-3 Box Set.
Besides reading, I enjoy cooking & baking, am learning tai-chi, am a short distance (5K) runner and enjoy working on crosswords, Sudoku and anagram puzzles.

Hi Petra, has Ulysses encouraged you over?! In for another year of Joyce!

I’m a lifelong reader from a family of lifelong readers. In our house, books are considered a birthright, and I was always encouraged to read beyond what I was assigned in school. I’ve never been particularly interested in or felt constrained by “genre”, so my taste is basically all over the place. I’ve had a Goodreads account for some time, but only recently began to cultivate it.
I was just looking for a group to discuss the books I love, and this looks like a fantastic place to start.

Hi Sara! Fancy meeting you here! Welcome! Enjoy and happy reading! 😊

Thanks for all the welcomes!
Pink, I'm not sure if I'm up to another reading of Ulysses. It's tempting but after Proust I may want to wallow in easier reads for awhile. ....but a discussion of Ulysses is always a good thing to join in on. :D

I have been a book lover since childhood. I loved reading classics, fantasy books(those with fairies, gnomes, and dwarfs) when I was young. Shifted my focus to non-fiction, motivational, fictional books as I grew up. Some of my favorite books are Peony, The Monk who sold his Ferrari, The Godfather, The Memoirs of a Geisha.I also read Assamese books (my first language).
I am a practicing physician; not married, in a relationship. I am excited to join this group and learn more about good classics and hope to keep my favorite hobby alive!
Welcome to the group Arunima -- so glad that you have joined us and are ready to read classics with us.

Hi and welcome Arunima! So glad you've joined our group! Enjoy yourself and happy reading!

Besides reading, I keep busy with my 2 very active teenagers, have become involved with volunteer activities at my local library, enjoy hiking, attending concerts, and love spending time with friends and family.

I'm happy to be here, Sara! I think the challenges will give me a push to increase my classic reading next year. I have so many unread books on my shelf at home that I would like to work on.
