http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...

I object to that lady finding nudity objectionable! Geesh! Americans are such prudes.

message 2: by Kasia (new)

Kasia Yeah I know, that thread! & poor Manny...

The way I see it it shouldn't be an issue, especially when we were over this stuff before with David's reviews. Ban on pictures, feh.

The Crimson Fucker (tcf123) | -6 comments I didn’t even read it… wtf! Y’all take shit too seriously.

message 4: by Matthieu (new)

Matthieu An edited review is even worse than the standard deletion. Creepy.

message 5: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) I hate people. Why can't they all just mind their own business and keep their damn mouths shut? Huh???

Be quiet. I'm not talking to you.

message 7: by Georg (new)

Georg Wouldn't it be great to have a link to all deleted reviews and pics? Kind of Badreads?

message 8: by Lori (new)

Lori (tnbbc) Georg, you might be onto something there!
Quick, patent it before someone else does!

message 9: by Georg (new)

Georg Lori: I am willing to share the copy-rights if you want to develop it. But how do we call the "Best of List"? "Worst of Goodreads? Best of Badreads?" Worst of.. You've got the picture.

message 10: by Donitello (new)

Donitello "Badreads" -- I love it.

message 11: by Donitello (new)

Donitello You know, these fundamentalist types... I wonder if it ever occurs to them that if you're doing the whole j'accuse thing at people who are actually really nice (like Manny), you may just be on the wrong track in some way.

I just read that thread, again, and the WORST part is when that dude says he thinks book reviews should be standard book reviews and not just pieces of writing or excuses to write about yourself. I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE SAY THAT! I love inventive reviews that tell me more about my friends and I love when I'm told how the book reminded them of their own life and/or made them analyze themselves because that's how I read. I've heard so many people on this site say similar things. Aside from being extremely dorky, it's just mystifying that people care. You can choose who your friends are and what comes up on your feeds. Also, there are plenty of sites with straight reviews if that's what you're after.

message 13: by Georg (new)

Georg I totally agree, Montambo. Nothing worse than people who say: "we want to be creative and inventive, but, of course, within rules." It's worse than people who at least admit that they are conservative and limited to their own prejudices.

[Look at my own review of ("Winnie the Pooh"). Oh, f***, it consisted only of pictures that were deleted.:]

Reads with Scotch Georg, I know I am surrounded by hippie commies here but... go make a German scheißen film.

There, that's better.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, luckily for you, Rusty, "regular" reviews abound.

message 17: by Rusty (new)

Rusty (rustyshackleford) | 2198 comments That doesn't necessarily reflect my views - I just couldn't resist in a thread about hating censorship.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

So, Rusty and KD are both smartasses! All is normal!

message 19: by Georg (new)

Georg Servius, it's not that easy to mae a German Scheiße Film (as you call it). All that paperwork with German "Bürokratie" and all the questions you have to answer ("Is the director REALLY half-jewish or at least Romanian?, Is the story REALLY absolutely incomprehensable? Are you REALLY sure that there exists no prize this film could win?", etc.).
But I am working on it.

Reads with Scotch Georg, I have confidence you can complete it in a timely manner if you ditch the lazy hippie gene.

Hahaha! This is really funny. I just started a reread of Catch 22 and this is what Yossarian is doing at the beginning of the book. Hahaha you guys are a riot.

Oh it didn't show the censoring.
