Otherwise I started Binge Trading: The Real Inside Story of Cash, Cocaine and Corruption in the City while I was sitting in my car this afternoon. I can already tell I'm interested by the very few pages that I read...However, I don't think I placed it on a challenge so I might stop for now :x
Oh and I currently got through-
VORK #1
Simpsons Summer Shindig #4
Green Arrow #30 to 32
Futurama #48 -52

Mailman of the Birdsville Track: The Story of Tom Kruse by Kristin Weidenbach.
Not far in yet, but I'm enjoying it..

This month for my book club we are going to be reading
The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary - but the version I am reading is called "The Surgeon of Crowthorne" - small world

I'm curious Knowledgelost, would one assume you are a major Frankenstein fan by your amazing & somewhat scary avatar!!ha ha"
Frankenstein is my all time favourite book, I read it every year

Mine was a book club book too. I found it a little dry but I hear The Surgeon of Crowthorne is better

I also picked up this book in a book sale last week. I loved Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil so I have high hopes for The City of Falling Angels.

I have just discovered Jane Austen. I've recently read Emma and Pride & Prejudice. Next on the list is Northanger Abbey which I hope to start next week.

Wow, now I call that dedication, keeping Frankenstein alive!!"
There is always something you can get out of Frankenstein

I finished reading Animal Dreams my first Autumn book ticked off for the season. I love Barbara Kingsolvers novels. She manages to make you live with the characters. They are so increadibly real. I haven't written a review, I need time to sit and think about it further.
I am back to finishing reading Unaccustomed Earth. They are short stories so it was easy to interupt and read another book in between. These stories are simply told. About family relationships of Bengalis surviving the transition of living in America. I love these stories, they give you a feel of the alienation felt by these people.

I have just started reading People of the Book. This book will tick off one from the Aussie Authors challenge and one from the Autumn challenge. The embarrassing thing, but great thing about this book is that it was recommended to me by one of my American friends. (Embarrassing because I didn't know she was Australian before it was recommended.)

i just started reading Across the Universe as a friend recomended it to me..i was excited has it had a beetle quote at the beginning but now....not so much

You also supplied us with Goodreads. We love you for that. :)

They really don't seem like your preferred type of books Jessica! LOL

Shane, what do you think of Desperation? Ive got that on my shelf, and am dying to read it soonish. Have you read The Regulators? Do they need to be read in any order?

I liked the Garden of G & E tt. It's a book I wished I hadn't read so I could read it again. Laurel

Ditto! I enjoyed "Oryx and Crake" even more the second time around.

Laurel, a friend of mine read all three books and said the stories were great but those occasional forays into measurements and meaningless detail nearly drove her crazy.

Now for some busy days ahead I've chosen something really light ... back to my fav author Janet E. ... Wife for Hire :-)
Really have to catch up and check out what you guys are all reading .... sounds interesting. So much to read, so little time ... *sigh*
