I'm almost finished with Fiasco by Imre Kertész(Nobel prize for literature winner). It's a bit of a book inside a book. Very unusual writing style but has made me laugh a few times, just due to its peculiarities. Worth a look!

I finished Akropolis by debut Aussie author Catherine McCallum last night... brilliant!
And started Thin Blood by (new to me) Aussie author Vicki Tyley .. really good so far:)
The talent of our Australian authors is outstanding!

I just started Fetish, my first by Tara Moss. It starts well. Wish I didn't have to work today - it is ideal weather to curl up in the warm with a good book.

I'm going to tackle Fetish next week. I love Tara Moss, and what I've read before she's just so-glossy and brilliant. Absolute killer.

I've just finished The Light Between Oceans and I'm going to give it 3 stars. I haven't reviewed it yet because I really need to think how I felt about what had happened...my feelings seem all muddled up atm. But I know for certain that I felt a great sympathy for the child more then anyone else in the book.

yeah looking forward to it Brenda :)
Finished Fetish and enjoyed it. I will read more of her books. Now I have the pleasure of choosing which of my August challenge books I am going to read first!
They're worth it Phrynne:) I read her final one last year and was devastated it was her last of that series! Assassin I read them in order too, which is a change for me!! lol

I usually like to read a series in order but Fetish only cost me $7.99 at QBD so I thought it would be a good one just to try . I will search out the others now.
Just started reading Zoo for my winter challenge. The hero has just arrived in Botswana - one of my favourite places in the world!

Aha! Although it is dated, I still like it immensely for the fact that it was written half-a-century ago so vividlyNow reading Perdido Street Station - all I can say about it is that it is WEIRD.

Well he does say he writes weird fiction.
And yeah I've never read any George Orwell before, always meant to.

I would love to read Perdido Street Station as a graphic novel. There are some images attached to reviews and they have whet my apetite.
Half way through Zoo and gosh it is fun! Are all James Patterson books like this? If so I have been missing out!
I am almost finished The Ark. I didn't really go into the book expecting much, but it has been really good. A bit of controversy in it as well.

No I haven't, sounds good though.
I highly recommend The End Specialist - similar type of thing, aging is "cured", but very dark.
TBRed! 2BR02B is just a 12 page short story, available here for free - http://www.booksshouldbefree.com/genr...
Finished Death in the City of Light: The Serial Killer of Nazi-Occupied Paris - fascinating and really interesting read
Finished Always Watching by Chevy StevensNow I'm reading The Art of Racing in the Rain byGarth Stein
I've just finished True Detective by Max Allan Collins and I'm now onto Let it Burn by Steve Hamilton.

I am about to start reading 'Divergent'
I'd like to say what it's about but I don't know. It's part of a no-synopsis challenge

As a great fan of M.C Beaton (AKA Marion Chesney) I am currently working my way through her work again. I was introduced to her through my local library but love her work so much I've decided to try and buy my own copies. What I love is that pretty much all of it is on Kindle and at lovely affordable prices. So I'm not running out of bookshelf space and can read them in the dark at night. :-)Right now I am reading Agatha Raisin and the Wellspring of death. I love a good bit of cosy crime fiction and Beaton's Agatha Raisin and hamish MacBeth are fun books of that genre to while away the hours with. I also love her Regency period books and plan on embarking on those shortly too. I just need to decide which series? Possibly the Poor Relations first?
Janis.
