task 30.5 This connection is too attenuated- there is little relationship between Life After Life the war in Britain, the blitz and Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption a US soldier in a Pacific theatre POW camp

Eeep. I was hoping world war ii would be enough of a connection. Luckily I did read another book that may work. Off to Sandy's thread to check before I make another booboo!

Edit: Well. I'd cleared another book with Sandy and then switched the places of this book and that in my personal records. Arrgh, my brain! Now I just need to finish reading Troublesome Young Men.

When you are claiming a GR author, please include the name of the author in your post - it really helps with the process.

It isn't necessary to edit or repost a previous total. But knowing that there is a discrepancy lets us both know if something was missed that may need correcting and keeps a problem from continuing.

Please do not delete posts. Records are kept with the post numbers and if you delete a post all the numbers change.
That is why the title of the Completed Tasks thread is
"Summer Challenge 2013: Completed Tasks (DO NOT DELETE POSTS)"

I must have carelessly selected the wrong edition when I did the search for the book link. My edition has 256 pages (which is why that book was pre-approved, as note). I will repost the task. Thanks for the catch.

BTW, re: this post, my current readerboard score doesn't match the number it should be.

Without the 50 for the book I have to re-post, I still get 20 for the other task, which should give me a total of 385.

If you disallow my entire post, I should have a total of 365.

Right now, my readerboard score is 360, five points less than it was before I made my last update. Can you please check? Thanks so much.

I really appreciate all the work you put into this. The Challenge is so much fun for all of us, and I wanted to make sure you knew of my gratitude. Thanks!

Karen Roman Dlmrose wrote: "Please explain the underground/underwater connection. It is not included in the book's description The Rime of the Modern Mariner"

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. In this modern re-interpretation of Coleridge's classic, the mariner spends much of the second half of the book underwater, and he has visions of the future of the world's oceans. I don't think he is ACTUALLY underwater, but in his hallucinations he imagines himself underwater, and he sees first-hand the impact of man's abuse of the environment on the creatures who live in the sea. He eventually finds his way ashore, and spends the last bit of the poem on dry land.

For ebooks, the page count for BB tickets is determined by the various paper editions. From the Rules of the Challenge:If you read an ebook, or audiobook use the page count for the mass market paperback if one exists. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition.

Your link for City of Bones is for the kindle edition, and neither the hardback nor the paperback edition appears to have 500 or more pages.
