We have had a board game theme going since May and would like to continue this for our August Challenge in the following way.
Let's Play RISK! Electric Lime Style
***A big thanks to Lauren for offering another fantastic board game for us to read through!***

Categories:
1. Orange (N. America)
2. Yellow/Gold (S. America)
3. Blue (Europe)
4. Brown (Africa)
5. Green (Asia)
6. Purple (Australasia)
The Plan:
Pick any of the above categories for your starting point. Read a book which meets one of the following criteria: a)cover color matches region/continent chosen b)setting is in chosen region/continent c)author was born in region/continent. You have completed your first "turn" with this book.
To take your second "turn" (and each of the following) move forward one number or back one number. Using the same category and criteria above, choose a book for your new continent/region.
My first four turns may look like this:
1st turn: I choose to start with Europe (3) and read Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens who was born in England
2nd turn: I move on to Africa (4) and read We Need New Names: A Novel by NoViolet Bulawayo which is set in Africa
3rd turn: I move back to Europe (3) and read The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas who was born in France
4th turn: I move to South America (2) and read

As a team, we must hit each continent/region at least once.
For the game to be complete, we must read 75 books.
Each book must only be one "space" away from the one before it.
"Worm hole Option" If you get stuck, you have two (2) worm holes which will allow you to move from you present location to any other space on the board. This will not count as a book, but will give you an opportunity to skip a location for which you do not have an appropriate book.

Thanks! We are looking forward to having some fun with it.

I know we were approved but I added the links to the green covers under my spoiler tab.

If we need to use cupcakes to help us to our goal of 75, should we post that there or somewhere else, since we won't know until the challenge is over?

You may post cupcakes on the spreadsheet, that's fine. Do you know how to do so? If not, I can explain it.

Is it the same as the 7% challenge where 7 cupcakes = 1 book?
Rebecca wrote: "Thanks! I'm not exactly sure how to do that. Would you like me to just add the cupcake picture to certain categories? I'm not positive we'll need them, but just in case.
I'll post some screens to show everyone.
Is it the same as the 7% challenge where 7 cupcakes = 1 book?"
Yes. Ditto as before with "blinkies."

How to Add a Cupcake Image onto Your Spreadsheet
FYI, here is the Google Support: Insert images into a spreadsheet link.
• Go to the cell of the type of cupcake you desire and do an “edit” and “copy” of
the html code. A larger picture of this is here.
• Go to your spreadsheet and do “paste” into your desired cell.
• As far as I know, only one image may exist in a cell, so you would NOT be able to
put seven (7) regular cupcakes into one. It will just be understood by the Mods
that you are cashing in seven. Or six, with a “Blinkie.”

How to Merge Cells
FYI, here is the Google Support: Merge cells link.
If you want to make a header type cell to reach over two or more smaller columns, use the “merge” command. Larger copy of the picture is here.
In the example shown in Screen #1, the titles "August BOM" and "Posted DQs" are above all three BOMs and "Blinkie" columns.
like to “merge” - or “become one.”
• Right click on them, so you will be able to select “resize column” and change width
(first number). Most people usually make the 60 since ‘standard’ for columns is 120.
Now they have become ‘smaller.’ You can do this step one column at the time, also.
• Next, choose cells you want to be one. In our example we chose the first row cells.
• Click on “merge” cells icon (between border and alignment) on your toolbar, as
indicated by the red arrow in Screen #2, and they become one cell. The little ▾ down
arrow to the right will give you a dropdown menu, but you don't really need it for this.
