Did you already list the new order for rounds?"

Message 2 was edited to include Glyn, so unless you notice any errors or clashes with people you've reviewed before, or people who have reviewed you, that's the final version.

K.A. Krisko (kakrisko) | 1702 comments Hi, folks, just checking in to let everyone know I'm back. I'll be getting the lists organized so I can keep track of who's done what - looks like I'm already a step behind! Thanks for filling in, Jay, and of course, our usual thanks for the organization!

Ubiquitous Bubba (ubiquitousbubba) | 21 comments I've finished Round 1 of my Review. (Actually, I cheated. The author wanted me to review her second short story in a series, so I read/reviewed the first and second instead.)

Here are the links to the reviews for the first two short stories in the Leaving Traces story.

Treasure of the Guardos by Jennifer Moreland

message 77: by Brannon (new)

Brannon | 11 comments Thanks, Dermot! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

message 78: by Nicolas (new)

message 79: by Brannon (new)

Brannon | 11 comments Unfortunately, I was unable to put the illustrations into the Smashwords ebook. There are about 14 pictures from WWI that my great-grandfathers friend took in the hand held copies. Thanks, Nic!

My review of Gone for a Soldier is coming soon.

message 80: by Nicolas (new)

Nicolas Wilson | 75 comments That's unfortunate. I enjoyed it, but I definitely enjoyed it more after stumbling onto them online. I've never tried putting pictures in an ebook. Smashwords is a notorious chore to work with, though. I'm not surprised pictures create problems on their end.

message 81: by Jay (new)

Jay Howard (jay_howard) I've not tried it, but the explanation in the Smashwords Style Guide of how to handle pictures looks comprehensive.

message 82: by K.A. (new)

K.A. Krisko (kakrisko) | 1702 comments And Nicolas pulls into the lead! Had me confused for a minute there on Brannon - posting name vs. author name!

message 83: by Brannon (new)

Brannon | 11 comments Yeah, I tried for several days leading into weeks to insert the pictures but in the end, I was unable to format them into Smashwords guidelines. Some are posted on my website. I'm debating about putting the rest of them on there too. Any thoughts about that? http://www.thatswar.com/

message 86: by Nicolas (new)

Nicolas Wilson | 75 comments Brannon--- sounds like my experience trying to get a finished Createspace paperback. Wouldn't wish that on anyone. I'd love to see the rest of them on the website, and to see the website cited in the ebook version. Is the ebook distributed mainly to reviewers, or is it available for purchase as well? Especially for reviewers, I might leave a note letting them know any differences between their version, and the version available for sale (Like the supplemental material available on the website).

message 87: by Brannon (new)

Brannon | 11 comments There is an ebook copy for 2.99 without the pictures and there is an ebook copy for 9.99 with. They are both being sold by many different distributors. I did add a hyperlink to the website but I guess that's not really clear in the ebook. That's definitely a good idea to go back and add the website info into the ebook. Thanks again, Nic! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

My..."

I was having a hard time with that as well. The illustrations always went whacky when it went through smashwords 'meat-grinder'. So what I ended up doing was signing into epub bud, and used their format to creat the ebook, then uploaded it to smashwords. I think it made the difference.

My review of Dermot Davis' Zen and Sex
(need to wait 48 hours before I can post it on Amazon sites. Turns out all this time I've been using my husband's Amazon account which won't work for this. And they make me wait 48 hours after buying an item before letting me review. Boo) on another note: Dermot, are there any other sites you'd like me to get?

Thanks, Annie! That is good to know! I will know that for future reference and at some point, I will go back and add the photos from the Great War to the ebook.
Also, thanks for the heads up about Amazon. I just opened my own account and didn't realize about the 48 hours waiting period.
