That's funny! I think if I had read this many years ago, I would have been scared if I was reading it alone as well.

I am reading Volume 4 of the Locke & Key series and also just started re-reading It :)Locke & Key, Vol. 4: Keys to the Kingdom
At home I am reading "Never Never" by James Patterson for the first time, at work I am reading "From the corner of his eye" by Dean Koontz. This is the third time I have read this book.
I'm reading Black House for the first time. I'm conflicted - I think it's a great book on its own, but as a sequel to the Talisman (one of my favorites) I don't think it's that good.
I read black house when it first came out but I never knew it followed on from the talisman, since then I've bought the talisman but everyone tells me I need to read the dark tower series!
I've finished Déjà Dead, first book of Temperance Brennan's series. Good book, but in my opinion, too much focused on Brennan's life, his feelings, impressios and problems, than the real story. Today I started Norse Mythology, Norse Mythology told by Neil Gaiman: a promising reading.

I only finished the first chapter, but it hooked me. :)
Having never read any of Joe Hill's books I thought I would try a few of his short stories to see what I think. So I picked up The Cape, My Father's Mask and Voluntary Committal

ElleEm wrote: "I finished The Lovely Bones......"So glad you enjoyed it! Wonderful book. I love Alice Sebold's writing.
I'm still working on re-reading IT and probably will be for a while. That's a lot of book to get through around work. But it's been 11-12 years since I read it the first time and it's 1000x more amazing than I remembered :)I've finished Locke & Key though and now I'm continuing the graphic novel volumes of Saga, Vol. 1, which is amazing. If anyone hasn't read it yet and wants to test the waters, you can read issue #1 here online: http://readcomiconline.to/Comic/Saga
Finished blood sisters by Jane Corry yesterday it was brilliant 5★ now starting coptown by Karin Slaughter
Matthewcross87 wrote: "you might want to read the first comment on this page / thread all i can make out is the author of Jurassic park i cant make out what the book is called"Hover your mouse over a cover and the title appears to the right.
Hi, Matthew. The Crichton book you couldn't see the title of is Pirate Latitudes. Are you on the phone app? I don't really use the app much because I prefer the website, so I'm not sure if things look/work differently. But I'm on PC and was able to hover like Kandice mentioned to see the title, or I could click the book picture and and it takes me to the books main page.

I'm on a second read of Desperation. Haven't read it in 20 years or so and thought it might be one of those that hasn't aged so well. I was very wrong.
Greg wrote: "I'm on a second read of Desperation...This is one I will definitely re-read! I read the Regulators first, but I remember I ended up liking Desperation even better. I actually got creeped out every time I read a "Tak!"

Actually I had trouble getting my head round The Regulators at the time and ended up quitting. I think this time I may leave a gap between the two rather than reading right after Desperation. Definitely worth a reread though, I'd forgotten what a page turner it is.
I much prefer The Regulators to Desperation, for many reasons, but like Nicole, every time I read "Tak" it creeps me the hell out!
It is interesting it has been years since I have read either of these books. I will have to pull them out dust them off and re-read them. I do remember noticing a connection to Hearts in Atlantis either that or I'm loosing my marbles which is just as likely.

Among other things I just started an audio book of Dune. It's always been a favorite of mine and I discover something different each time I read it.
Kandice wrote: "Among other things I just started an audio book of Dune. It's always been a favorite of mine and I discover something different each time I read it."I loved the book Dune, I have listened to it as well like you every time I read it I discover something new.
I loved Stardust! I want to re-read it soon. I read it and watched the movie right after. I hadn't seen it before and I really enjoyed it. A good adaptation for sure.
Just finished Cop land by Karin Slaughter, don't know what I'm gonna choose next I need something a bit different
Nicole wrote: "I loved Stardust! I want to re-read it soon. I read it and watched the movie right after. I hadn't seen it before and I really enjoyed it. A good adaptation for sure."It was alright, not my normal type of book to read but I have to say it was well written.

I liked both books, easy and nice readings.
Now I'm reading Soles, an intriguing horror.
