What Are You Reading Now? Pt 2.
Just finished Locke & Key, Vol. 2: Head Games, nice book and interesting series. I'm reading The Long Walk: nice, but a little slow.
I really enjoyed Rubbernecker by Belinda Bauer and I'm definitely looking out for more of her books, it was pretty bizarre reading about my home town and surrounding areas, now I'm reading a book of short stories called They move below by Karl Drinkwater, I won a book by him a few weeks ago and he kindy sent me another 2 books this week
I'm reading Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson.
A couple of days ago I've finished Locke & Key, Vol. 3: Crown of Shadows. Now I'm reading Preacher, Vol. 1: Gone to Texas and The Running Man.
Diana wrote: "Just finished Mr. Mercedes and diving into Finders Keepers"Hey Diana, it would be great to know how you compare the two when reading one after the other. A lot of us had to wait for the second one to come out after reading the first. I have my own opinions but don't want to prejudice you.
Diana wrote: "Just finished Mr. Mercedes and diving into Finders Keepers"I just started Mr. Mercedes. I'm devouring it.
Catch-22. One of the funniest books I've ever read. I'm not sure I want it to end. But if it doesn't end, I might go insane.Catch-22!
stephen king- revival and haruki murakami- undergroundA friend of mine said that she would lend me revival if I lent her the shining. It's awesome to have friends that read the same stuff you like
Just finished Blindsighted by Karen Slaughter. Gripping... an audio book I listened to day and night. Thanks for the recommendation, Rhian. I think I'd better dive into something a little more gentle, maybe good old Tom Robbins.Read my four-star review at - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Reading Dark Matter - Blake CrouchJust started but I have already been sucked in. Looks really good.
Rhian wrote: "Glad you enjoyed it Nick"I really did. Didn't quite freak me out the way pretty girls did... but that was good.
Attempting a semi-complete reading of the Dark Tower series plus the major tie-ins. It's semi because I forgot to order Salem's lot. XD
Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas, by Tom Robbins for a few laughs, and Backwoods Ripper, by new Australian Goodreads author Anna Willet... for a few scares. The latter is starting to take on the feel of Misery. Not sure how that will work without the literary subplot... we'll see.
In the last 5 days I've got through 2 books (damn insomnia) behind closed doors by B A Paris which is way overhyped, and I let you go by Claire mackintosh which was very good, now onto a book I won with goodreads giveaways Black rust by Bobby Adair

I am currently reading Disappearance at Devil's Rock, which is okay. Not creepy. Not horror. Just a parents worst nightmare when a child goes missing. I won it in the GR giveaways. I hope there is a twist somewhere. :/
I am also reading High Moor 2: Moonstruck which is a pretty fun follow-up to High Moor. Nothing like Werewolves ... :)
Finished John Everson's Bram Stoker Award Winner, Covenant
. Not a bad first offering. My review can be read at:

Also finished Last Train from Perdition
by Robert McCammon. I can't express how glad I am that he's back and he hasn't abandoned the horror genre. Actually, his marriage of horror with historical fiction works really well. Love it!You can read my review at:

Currently reading the "Parric Cycle" (1977) the first two novels by Charles L. Grant. I just finished "The Shadow of Alpha" (first book in this series) and am currently reading "Ascension".
The City of Mirrors was worth the four-year wait. 5 stars!Starting The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

I have that but only read the first and never went and read the second version.
Too many books and too little time to read the second version, LOL. I enjoyed the version I did read. Maybe one day I will do a re-read and read the alternate version. Then I won't be comparing the two since the fine details will be lost by then.I didn't know there was more than one version of Annikhilation. I borrowed the one I am reading from the library on Overdrive. How do I know which version?
I posted the book link to the one I am reading. I thought you meant the same author had written multiple versions of the same book.
I have finally started 11/22/63. That the book is good shouldn't be surprising, but I didn't expect it to have such a different atmosphere from King's usual books. King proves his capablity to write not only from the horror genre in this novel, that's for sure.
Yesterday I finished Batman: The Killing Joke. Great and incredible story.Today I started Preacher, Volume 2: Until the End of the World, a very raw book of this series. It tell the story of young Jesse and his awful life with grandma.
Trying to decide between Skagboys, by Irvine Welsh, or Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, by Susanna Clarke... Both really long books, but that's what I'm in the mood for.
Finished two excellent ones. First, Charnel House
by Graham Masterton. Old school horror done right.Second, Chasing Ghosts
by Glenn Rolfe. For this one, I think Rolfe outdoes Laymon at his own game. Both reviews at -

I've read several takes on Bundy, but Rule was, by far, the most chilling.

Okay, thanks for the recommendation. I'll add look for Green River Running Red. But first, there's Karen Slaughter's book. She does a masterful job with sickos herself.
