I agree about Strike and Robin. But No, I had no idea there was a TV series. I'd better track it down.
Cuckoo was a 3 parter and the silkworm a 2 part drama, it was on the BBC if that helps Nick, I did enjoy them but I thought the silkworm should have been longer on tv, interesting to see Strike and Robin on tv but the books were better as always

Starting The Crucifix Killer which is my first Chris Carter book, I hope I like it I've bought a further 6 of the series
Have not read the books but I am always hesitant about British dramas, they tend to lack the polish of their American parts though the actors are usually good.
Over the weekend i read theseThe Eleventh Victim by Nancy Grace I finally read this book i had it for the longest and I really liked it Gonna have to read her others in this series
Shell Game by Carol O'Connell This book wasnt good at all. I found it pretty boring I got it finish but it just wasnt good as i though it would be
I will be starting on these nowBy the Light of the Moon by Dean Koontz It's a reread for a BOTM on Dean Koontz Group. I read it before but for like of me i cant remember what is about, Then I will start on All Fall Down by Erica Spindler And also Listen to Carrie by Stephen King
Hex by Thomas Olde Heuvelt
Has a cover quote/blurb by King that says, "Totally, brilliantly original" so I thought I'd check it out. 80 pages in -- so far, so good. I like it.

It's so tough! I have a schedule for a reading challenge so I should read all these within 2 weeks but I am such a slow reader ... oh well.. I brought this on myself :) :)
Michele wrote: "I am trying to read 3 books at the same time 'Salem's Lot , American Psycho, Lady Midnight"Great. I'm reading three myself, All the Birds in the Sky, Salem's Lot and Wizard and Glass. Okay, I haven't started the latter two yet, but I'm about to. :-)

Good luck ;)
I cannot limit myself to one book at a time. I do try to read different genres though to keep the story lines straight. I am currently listening to The Fireman by Joe Hill. Reading Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate on Nook, The Awakening by Lisa M. Lilly on my Kindle Fire, and lastly on my phone, I am reading My Mother The Liar by Ann Troup provided by NetGalley.
I usually read one in the evenings and listen to an audiobook while driving. If the audiobook gets too good then I stop reading at night and listen then too.
I like to devote my time to one book, I have read the odd short story while reading a book but I prefer to stick to one
I also prefer sticking to just 1 at a time but now I have these challenges and I am trying to do my best to read everything in time . Although it messes with my reading diary entrences 😣
I once tried reading two books at a time, but somewhere along the way I ended up reading the more interesting one all the way to the end and then switch to the other one.So now I just read one book at a time.
Finished The crucifix killer by Chris Carter I rated 4☆ because I loved it up until the conclusion which was unrealistic

And since I write, I'm also writing or reading or proof-reading at least one other book. So that can get me up to four or five books at once. No wonder I'm so damn confused. :-)
I once had three books on the go with out using book marks, I am luck I can remember what page and where on the page I am for up to 6 months.
mrbooks wrote: "I once had three books on the go with out using book marks, I am luck I can remember what page and where on the page I am for up to 6 months."That could be a curse, a form of mental illness, or a super power.
I would love to be able to read more than one book at a time - because there are so many that sound interesting, how do you pick?! - but I really like just focusing on one book at a time. I love relaxing with a real, physical copy of a book in my hand, and getting lost in that one story. I've tried reading multiple books and I've tried audio books and Kindles and nothing is ever as pleasing to me as that one book. Ya find what works for ya.
I'm reading The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan right now. Also technically reading Aliens: Alien Harvest, but that's more a "when I need to read something on my kindle" book that I've barely touched, mainly since honestly it's not very good. Should be reading Salem's Lot too, but I don't think I'd like trying to juggle two larger books.
Reading ‘Ready Player One.’ It really is as good as I have heard! I’ve read 500 pages in like 3 days because it’s impossible to put down.
Nicole wrote: "Reading ‘Ready Player One.’ It really is as good as I have heard! I’ve read 500 pages in like 3 days because it’s impossible to put down."I'll have to try and read it before the movie comes out.
I only like reading physical books but kindle and audio seem to be really popular here. Don't you audio readers get distracted easily when listening to audio books? Because I tried listening once and couldn't stay focused on the story..

There was a time when I only read physical books, but now I couldn't do without my Kindle.

I currently check most of my books out at the library (and buy physical copies of ones I want to keep) and I am able to find everything I've wanted to read so far. I do have a Kindle that I never use though, so maybe I'll consider it if I have more options...

Beca..."I have quite good options in my local library but they don't really have that many books in English (I live in Finland) and the last time I went to my local bookstore there were only 5 books written English... So I have considered kindle but I don't own any other electronic devices other than my phone and the screen is just too small and uncomfortable :( . I feel like I'm whining haha . Luckily I'm going to the capital in 2 weeks and there is a larger bookstore with more books in English.
Steven wrote: "I am always tempted to go for a Kindle but I love the feel and sound of turning pages too much. Old school I guess."Same!!!

Don't you audio readers get distracted easily when listening to au..."So I started reading books on my iPhone soon after it came out. Just got the (free) Kindle app and it worked great. I read a lot of King's longer works (including The Stand, Dr. Sleep, and the Regulators) on my phone. The secret is just to make the text really big, then it's easy. Yes, you turn the pages a lot, but really, how hard is that... just swipe your thumb. When I got an iPad, I switched over to that. The thing I miss about print is that it's easier to go back and check on quotes and clarify passages... it's also easier to know where you are in the book. If the book is important enough to me, I get both the print and the e-book, sometimes there are deals if you get both. The thing I don't like about print is that big books can be cumbersome. At the start and near the end, the pages are hard to hold it's so much easier to hold a Kindle or an iPad rather than say 1000 page plus 'Infinite Jest'... which I listened to and have the paperback of. Also, e-readers are backlit so there's no problem with the lighting in the room. I can lay next to my sleeping wife and read without having on a light that might keep her awake. If anyone with a phone wants to try it, get a short e-book and the Kindle app for iPhone, download a short book, and see how easy it is.
As for audiobooks, I'm a big believer in them too. But you can get distracted or even fall asleep if you are listening at night. Then you have to go back and figure out where you were when you drifted off.

A curse only if it's a book I want to forget and can't. Mental illness could be I have been told I am crazy many times a day. Super power nah not good enough for that.

And no I can't listen to the stand on line as it would get me in trouble within the first few chapters LOL.
I normally find when reading more then one book it is the second and third book that chooses me. Sort of like in Harry Potter when Mr. Olivander explains wand Lore to Harry in the Deathly Hallows. The Wand always chooses the Wizard that much is always true Mr. Potter, the wand always chooses the Wizard.
Tim wrote: "I'm reading The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan right now. It is Epic.

I've learnt I listen better when I'm not doing anything else but sometimes my mind still wonders off.
