Yes, it sounds like that qualifies.

Assuming Ric Kealey stays a central character in the book, this qualifies.

Thanks for clarification JMom. I will put it at the bottom of my list and if I get round to reading it I will. That way, if it turns out that character isn't in it for long, then I've not wasted valuable reading time!

Are you sure Kimberly? All it takes is one book. And it looks like I've already assigned you to Camp Amly :) I'll remove you, but I know they'll miss you. Let me know if you change your mind.

Kimberly | 2033 comments Thanks Jmom :) I'm sure. I'm more of a 24 hour toppler girl.

message 161: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3259 comments So I was having a miserable day conferring with doctors about an upcoming surgery I need. When they gave me the date I blurted out " oh good I won't miss the Toppler!" The doctors looked at me like I was crazy but it made my husband and I crack up. This group has been a great distraction! As a thank you I promise not to post any videos of me singing for the talent show- I was kicked out of an all volunteer choir in grade school because I can't carry a tune!

message 162: by jaxnsmom (new)

You don't have to find everything, look for as many items as you want.

Janice (jamasc) | 59897 comments Besides memories, you may have kept a diary, and possibly you sent post cards to family. Read a book that’s in a diary, letter, journal, or similar format.

OMG! I still have my autograph book from summer camp. I'll have to dig it out and share some of the things that are in it. "Yours till... "

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4027 comments For the car trip task, I recommend Amy and Roger's Epic Detour.

Love the tasks but I want to do so many and not enough hours in one week. :(

I'm planning on reading Floundering Floundering by Romy Ash for the road trip one :-)

Alas, we don't have Kindle in Canada; we have Kobo.

message 183: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59897 comments You can download the Kindle app on any apple products in Canada. I don't know about other smart phones or tablets. I think you can also download the app onto your computer. I have it on my iPad and iPhone.

message 184: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 915 comments My iPhone is soooo old it wants me to go out and buy another one~

message 185: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59897 comments Oh, and the app is free (thought I should mention that).

Pragya's link is to the American Amazon site which says that pricing is not available for Canadians. We have to go to Amazon.ca for pricing and orders, so the Canadian link to 100 Camping Recipes is HERE.

message 186: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4027 comments Cathie, I hope you can get it on your Kindle app on computer. To see what I cooked for you, head over to Camp happy. :)

Thanks for the Canadian link, Janice. :)

Slap me up alongside the head! Of course! My dad has a Kindle, as do others I know. I'm having one of those fractured days. I drove through a red light, treating it like a stop sign. LOL!

message 191: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 915 comments Thanks Marie Claude; I guess I'm just patriotic towards Canadian products. I don't believe it's been available here for long. It's good to know that we have the option of buying a kindle here in Canada if we want to :-).

Thanks for the Canadian link Janice :-).

Lynn | 2974 comments jaxnsmom wrote: "Besides memories, you may have kept a diary, and possibly you sent post cards to family. Read a book that’s in a diary, letter, journal, or similar format"

May be a silly question but does this include Autobiographies / Memoirs? Or are you looking for fictional books that read like a diary / letter etc. ?

message 195: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments jaxnsmom wrote: "4. Books can only be used for one task in the Toppler, but can count toward the monthly challenge, the group theme read, and the alphabet yearly challenge if they qualify."

Another question, which I think I understand but want to double check. This rule is for individuals rather than the whole group yes?

So 3 members can read Great Gatsby for the round robin task. While another member can read it for the Movie Task?

message 196: by Joe (new)

Joe | 93 comments I would love to participate in this!

message 197: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 915 comments Uhm, I don't think so Lynn, because of Rule #4

4. Books can only be used for one task in the Toppler, but can count toward the monthly challenge, the group theme read, and the alphabet yearly challenge if they qualify.

I think if a book is chosen as your camp's round robin, that is the only task it can get points in.

That's my interpretation anyway...will be interested in seeing what the real answer is :-)

It doesn't have to be fiction, but it should read like a letter/diary/etc.
