ARCHIVE TWO: PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF ~
My name is Debbie and I am from Austin Texas. I just graduated with my master's in library science and my undergrad is in medieval and renaissance humanities. My interests run from ancient Egypt to the 1920s-mainly fiction. I also enjoy anything in the costume variety for film or TV and early music.
Welcome Debbie, we are glad to have you as a member. With your interests I am sure you will find books and topics to discuss with others. As you get started please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link after all of the text of your post at the bottom of the post . Placement at the bottom of the post calls the reader's attention to the book and/or author and increases the readability of your post. This is how books you mention should look:

Hello, all. I received an email directing me to introduce myself, so perhaps I did not do so when I joined the group a couple of years back!I live in New Haven, CT and once was a junior high history teacher, and now am an immigration lawyer. My reading time is very limited, so I am not able to be as active here as I'd wish, but this is a great group and I have loved the reads in which I've taken part. And I look forward to participating as much as I can in the future. There is a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm here!

Hi all. Im Jan from switzerland and I'm generally interested in history. I studied architecture (although I work as a software developer right now) and I'm fascinated by all the links between history - arts - architecture. Actually I'm reading Eric Hobsbawm's Age of Extremes. I'm looking forward to discover new enthralling books.

Hello, all. My name is Dale. I just found the group and am delighted to find The Metaphysical Club as the latest read. I read it in 2001 and am very excited about re-visiting it and enjoying a discussion. (I just ordered Blood Tyrants to begin our next read.) I am retired from business, but currently teach the French Language to high school students as my "retirement" job. I developed a love of American history from living it as a college student of the 60s. I especially enjoy obscure historical accounts of how we as a country came into being.
Cheers.

Hey! I'm Carly. I'm from the U.K and love to read. pretty much anything...but my biggest passion is History...& that's why I'm here!! I read History for my degree, & it was at uni that my fascination with American history / culture began. So, although I love history in general it is my interest in America which is most closely reflected in the books I read. My particular interests are: 19th century history / 60's counter culture, and organised crime. I don't pretend to be a massive intellectual who knows all there is to know, but I'm passionate X

Hello Mariana
I have reposted your intro below minus the segment which violates our rules and guidelines - a minor fix.

Hi, I am a teacher ........in New York City. As a teacher, I took the opportunity to teach children to read and write using history as a primer. I am fascinated with the past and the characters that have shaped and molded the present and the future.
As a child I adored the library as it was passageway to the biographies of all I admired Helen Keller, Eleanor Roosevelt, Thomas Edison among others.
Given a choice, I prefer Nonfiction or Historical fiction as a genre.
I look forward to meeting other like minded individuals.
Marianna Randazzo
Below I have given you some examples of the citations for the three authors who you mentioned. They must be cited just like books.
They have the same components as a book minus the book cover.
Eleanor Roosevelt
Helen Keller
Thomas Edison

Hello all ,I am from Egypt ,36 years old and I am an Architect ; so my study encouraged me to explore history some how .
I am trying to increase my historical readings options (fiction and non-fiction) .My focus interest is the history of the Middle east and the historical relations/interactions between East and West (Andalus , crusades , Ottoman Empire , WW1 , ww2...etc )
I joined the group after noticing a challenge about The middle east with so many detailed threads about ME countries - including my country.
I am also interested in African and Asian history , I find Japan facilitating . and I hope that at a certain point I will be able to read more about India .I am a very slow reader in general ; yet I want to read lots of books , so my "to read" list is getting fatter everyday !
I am still exploring your wonderful group and I guess it will take me a long time to do so ...:)
Hi all. I'm Jenny. Currently residing in the Washington, DC area and working at a large non-profit as a Project Manager. Raised largely in Minnesota by two ex-pat Brits. I have a particular interest in Welsh history, the American Revolutionary War period, WWII and economic history. I studied History and Economics at American University and if it weren't for the need to have some sort of income, I would have been perfectly happy to pursue my Master's and PhD in History. Perhaps, at a future date...
Looking forward to some fascinating discussions with fellow lovers of history!

Hello everyone, I am new to the Goodreads app. as well as this History club but am impressed with how both are formatted. I look forward to interacting with fellow historians and history buffs and widening my knowledge base and skill set in the field of historical inquiry. I have a BA in history but would like to pursue a graduate degree one day (if I can we get away from the farm long enough). My major interests are in classical, medieval, military and US history; I never was able to select one as an area for future advanced study while earning my BA, which is one of the things I hope this group can help me with! I just finished reading Victor Davis Hansons' Savior Generals, and am now reading Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs, and Steel. Best Regards,
Matthew
