Where does everyone have their book listed to be purchased? Amazon seems to be the obvious choice whether by choice or not but is in fact a no brainer but where else? There are the companies to which published your book for one but how about other small sites? From experience I just recently had a small indie site similar to this one feature a link to purchase my book..but...it goes to Amazon. So aside from Amazon and your publisher, where else is your book available?

Hey Justin-I've returned to the land of the living & reading. ;-)Good thread. Mine is sold through Amazon & my publisher as well, but also on Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, ediesel and various other sites I had honestly never heard of like booksamillion and alibris. Other than Smashwords, my (self) publishing company sent it to all the other sources for sale. You can pick a well known book on Goodreads and look at all the places it is for sale by chosing the drop-down box on it's page.

I have my books listed on Amazon and Smashwords - which distributes to other retailers. To date, I've sold most of my books from Barnes and Noble through Smashwords.

Like I said on another group in the same thread, I've noticed and believe that books are basically featured in three main spots. Amazon, Barnes&Noble and Smashwords. Amazon as far as I'm concerned is a must, if your an author then your book has to be featured on Amazon, if it's not then you live under a rock and need to come out immediately! Barnes&Noble is hard to get your book featured on if your self-published/ Indie author like most of us are. I know smashwords does it for you automatically but for those of us who aren't with smashwords I have heard that B&N tend to treat Indie Authors like the plague and need a real good sales pitch to even consider you. Why? I haven't the slightest clue just going off what I've heard. Finally, Smashwords. I have heard much about it and I've looked into it myself but I really don't know much about it. They sound legit and seem reasonable personally it confused me kind of like KDP does but whatever works I suppose. You basically want three main distributors for your book, four okay and more than five however you face risk of reducing the sales of your book on the main sites who carry your book. Hope that enlightens some of you and helps.
Barnes & Noble has no problem with carrying indie authors' books in its online store. Per Kris Rusch and Dean Wesley Smith, a major change is in the words where POD paperbacks are concerned, but up until now, B&N bookstores were very unlikely to carry indie books as a chain, although some local stores could be persuaded.Smashwords distributes to iBookstore and Kobobooks, as well as B&N, for those who choose those distribution channels.
Hi I'm Athanasios. I've got three books in the horror genre and they can be found in all the online retailers. Please contact me at the links below if you want to know more.I've made video previews for all three and viewable at:http://www.youtube.com/playlist?featu...
The first video preview is for my shortest story: I Am Eternal: Cowboys and Vampires.
The second is for my books series on the whole: Predatory Ethics.
The thirds is for Mad Gods: Book I of Predatory Ethics.
The fourth is for Commitment: Book II of Predatory Ethics.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to post about my new book, GNASH, available on Amazon for only $2.99! It's a great new read just in time for summertime. This book has zombies, failed government responses, military heroes fighting for survival, and even a little romance. Please check it out. Quick summary: An ancient fundamentalist organization has chosen to lash out against its enemies by conducting several attacks simultaneously across the globe. One of the assaults unleashes a deadly virus within the Pentagon. When the virus mutates beyond anything the terrorists expected, the nation's capital is plunged into a violent zombie outbreak that threatens to infect everyone in the region. A desperate attempt to stop the potential global epidemic backfires as the infected survive a brutal pre-emptive strike and continue to wreak havoc on the human population when they reemerge from the bowels of the ruined city.

My book (a collection of interlinked short stories set in Bombay, India) was originally exclusive to Amazon. It's now available for Nook and Kobo, and I'm waiting on iBooks.I suspect most of the sales will still come from Amazon, but I'm giving the other channels a try to see what happens.
My books are available through Amazon, and can be ordered through booksellers, though I suspect Amazon is the preferred option in many cases.I have seven titles, and they are all highly readable. Here's the Amazon link to the latest: my 2013 release, ENCORE. It's am anthology of mostly romantic vignettes. http://www.amazon.com/Encore-ebook/dp...
Daimones and Tender Moments... are a bit everywhere. Too long a list to put details here. Thanks also to the Smashwords Premium Catalogue distribution and the CreateSpace extended distribution features.Daimones is even listed at Foyles, UK.
Hi everyone, Amazon is still the no-brainer for most of us.But my book also just became available at Barns & Noble.
Time will tell how it will do there.
Pirate Tales
My book is available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Books a Million, our publishers website, www.tatepublishers.com, and locally at the Brick and Mortar Barnes and Noble in Geneva, IL and through our website www.thefivesisters.net which links to these sitesFluffy, Funny, and Fabulous: A Tale of Five Sisters
I put up my book first on Lulu. But now it's only on Amazon because I'm trying the Select program of theirs.Requiem: Will the Dead Come Back for Love?
Amazon, Createspace, Smashwords because they get it everywhere else that sells ebooks. (Sony, Kobo, iBookstore, Barnes and Noble)

I put mine on amazon and smashwords. If you want to reach some of the platforms as a UK author you have to go through smashwords (B and N requires an american bank account). Smashwords will also distribute to amazon, apple etc as well as having the format to download your book in multiple formats on their website. The formatting is a nightmare. You get better royalties direct from amazon so I wouldn't publish to amazon through smashwords but I've found it to be fairly easy to work. It's also the easiest way to do give away free books as you can create vouchers for discounted or free versions of your book on smashwords which you can't on amazon. Hope this helps. Here is a link to my book on smashwords if you want to check out how it looks. http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/...

I think putting it on Smashwords allows for a large audience to read your books.
My books are only on Amazon now. I did have them on Barnes and Noble and the Kobo Store but sold nil except to a couple personal friends who only have Nooks.
Hello there! My book

I haven't considered a third party host for my book other than my current two of Createspace and Amazon. Although Barnes&Noble would be my first choice to attempt.

Thank you to all those who took advantage of my book promotion last Thursday and Friday 13th and 14th June 2013 to download a free copy of my book.
If you have the time I would very much appreciate some HONEST reviews or just simply comments upon the tale as a whole and upon the presentation style. I am aware of some textual, punctuation and grammar errors and of the need to rephrase/reword in places; an updated and revised edition is being worked upon. However, any review, comment or observation you can provide would be welcome including negative ones.

I've tried to make mine (The Policeman of Secrets) available in as many places as possible. Smashwords suggested a list, and I submitted it to every one. So far only Amazon and Smashwords have been really effective, although I was recently delighted to see my first sale at Barnes & Noble. My thinking is that the more distributors it has, the better.
All of my books are available on amazon. Today and tomorrow I have a free promotion going:http://www.amazon.com/Murder-Summers-...
Some of my books I have published through Smashwords, though I find getting through their autovetter a bit challenging.
But click the link above to get a free copy of my latest mystery novel.
All of my books are available on Amazon and the publishers' sites; my new book, door of thin skins is available on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/door-thin-skins...
My latest novel, "Blinders Keepers" keeps popping up all over the place ...

Much of the presence is the result of achieving Premium Status approval at Smashwords. If you can get beyond the fastidiousness of their Meatgrinder ebook converter, it opens up a lot of channels of distribution.
I just went with Amazon. Every author before me know understands statistics said that Kindle Select was more successful than going with all of the other other sites.
I skimmed through quick, so I might have missed it, but one place I don't see a lot of people put their books up is AllRomanceeBooks (ARe) and/or OmniLit. They're both combined under one banner, but OmniLit is for general fiction and ARe is for more romance/erotic romance/erotica focused. They're smaller and a little more effort than the others (and you have to apply for a publisher account, you can't just make one like most other places), but I like them.
Hi,I've just uploaded my e-book to Smashwords http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/...
but it's too new to tell how the sales are going.
Have a good one,
Magda
