The Paladins are Earth's guardians. Anytime the others break free and cross the barrier to Earth it's their job to kill them before the wreck havoc on Earth. Devlin is more or less the leader of The Paladins. They have medical and research teams that monitor everything because while they are able to come back from death one of those times they'll come back insane and have to be put down. Laurel is Devlin's doctor/handler and there's no denying the sparks between them. But what if the person you're in love with you may have to kill one day because he's a danger to himself and others. But Laurel makes Devlin feel more human and it seems to be helping him and diminishing the chances of him becoming insane. It turns out that they have bigger problems though, someone has ordered a hit on Devlin and it's obvious that they have a mole somewhere.
My thoughts:
For a PNR book this one was unique and didn't fall into the cookie cutter form that so many PNR books do. It was a quick enjoyable read and I will be reading more in the future.

I did enjoy it. I did bad boy rockers with tattoos and piercings... BUT it was tied up with a bow at the end a little quicker and neater than I expected. Also, the misunderstandings (drama) almost grew a little tiresome.
Still would definitely recommend as long as you can handle the the steam, although you really need to read book 1 (Torn) to fully appreciate the story and the characters. Maybe have a few ice cubes to help cool down.
I received an eBook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Yes we had a blast! Disney World is my favorite place on the planet. I would go there every year if we could afford it but so far we've been averaging every 3 years :)

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I started it without knowing much about it and I ended up being hooked in the first chapter! Morgan is an exorcist of demons. Turns out Morgan is a little deeper in the demon world than she thought she was. She constantly shoots herself in the foot with her actions throughout the book. Which I find entertaining in a book. This was a nice break from the typical vampire and shifter books and I'll definitely be reading more in the future!

Review: Another good BDB book. I think the more books I read in this series, the better I like it. I was really blah with the first couple but they're growing on me. They're definately Paranormal Romance and I'm more of an Urban Fiction girl, having love stories tied up in little bows at the end is unnatural to me :)

If you love the series, what is stopping you? Hunted does NOT disappoint and throws more than a few curve-balls!
Atticus, Atticus, Atticus... what is UP with pissing off all the gods, and I do mean darn near ALL of them. Well, I suppose with them taking offense at the drop of a hat, there's just no hope for it. Must not forget a shout out to my favorite hound, Oberon, you deserve a sausage of the month club for being such a clever boy! I'm totally using the 'Shepherd's Pie' thing in real life, be aware of that now.
We've already reached the sixth book in the series now, haven't we? It seems like just yesterday I stumbled across book one and two in my local library and took a chance. Tattooed, snarky Druid... Where do I sign up? Best 'talking' dog ever... Well slap my *bleep* and call me Sally! I loved them from the very first book and have eagerly followed the story of the highly persecuted druid. Add the new feminine, but still 'fierce' druid and I'm in reader heaven... or wasn't there free beer in Irish Paradise? Could there be an Irish Reader's Paradise? *Here's hoping*
I do have to say, I loved it, I really did. I feel the overall story across the series has been cohesive and Hunted was a great addition. The reader gets tastes of Granuaile as a narrator on occasion, which was an interesting change in voice. But beware, this series must be read in order or you will run across ginormous spoilers with big pointy teeth. While I do find the plot original and fresh, the intensive running, chasing, and the *my eyes- I can't unsee that!NONONO* moment. I guess I was just feeling a little desperate, I mean how much bad karma can one druid have? Tons. Tons and tons of the worst luck roll ever. He may as well be wearing a red Star Trek uniform and have a target painted on his back.
There was happily much of Oberon in this installment; between you and me I think Oberon is what makes this entire series. He's the 'Shepherd's Pie' (see I warned you now about using that, didn't I?) Playful banter, more gods than you can shake a stick at, fierce fighting, profound observations, manticores, and even a meat heist, what's not to love? And while there is some romance, overall it's not a 'kissing book'. There's just not really enough time for that, you see.
I will leave you with my favorite quote (and explanation of 'Shepherd's Pie')
"'Do you perhaps mean pi, the mathmatical symbol?'
No, Atticus, I mean shepherd's pie. I'm not going to confuse that with math. Shepherd's pie is delicious and desirable, and math is not."
I received an eBook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Items:
Vegetable Location 4167 "I insisted on cooking in the morning, preparing my signature cheese and chive omelets and serving them with sausages and parsley potatoes."
Sofa Location 3859 "Some of them sank into the upholstery of a long red leather sofa facing the koi pond and blessedly shielded my lower body, and others missed to either side."
Column Location 3814 "... but my view of the room- clearly a large one- was blocked by square marble pillars around the perimeter."
Snake Location 5095 "Cleopatra reclined, leaning on her right arm, while her left hand held a snake up to her breast, inviting it to bite her."
Bonus: Glasses Location 5256 "She squinted through a pair of large spectacles and bent forward a bit to make sure she wasn't hallucinating."

I really liked this book! If you don't know by now, I love reading anything mythology related! I kinda hated how Alex acted in this book although I knew it wasn't his fault because of what Gemma did to him to protect him from the other sirens. Can't wait for the next one to release this August because after reading it's synopsis, it seems it's going to be the final book in the Watersong series!
Items:
Sofa: Penn lay stretched out on the sofa of her living room, languidly flipping through a tabloid as Lexi paced in front of her. (Page 153)

Pool: It was the same reason she didn't turn into a mermaid in the pool or shower. (Page 180)
Glasses: Her dark eyes stared out from behind her glasses with a manic intensity as she watched the front door of the library. (Page 16)

I'm so sad this trilogy is over! I've loved these books since the beginning! I think the author did a very good job in wrapping things up!
Items:
Bed: "What the hell?" Hector roared from the foldout bed that was set up next to Orion's. (Page 16)
Cookie: Plus, there were milk and cookies in the kitchen-Kate's cookies, no less. (Page 281)
Bear: "I can't believe it!" Hector howled, grabbing Lucas in a bear hug. (Page 293)
Roof: Helen pushed him off the roof. (Page 161)
Rainbow: They refracted it around Helen so that everywhere she looked there were tiny rainbows-night rainbows that were created with neither sun nor rain. (Page 357)

We finally get to see Granuaile kick some serious butt in this one! This picks up 12 years from the previous book & it's time to make Granuaile and official Druid. The only problem is the Olympians, the vamps, and many others don't want to see it happen and do everything in their power to prevent it. Poor Atticus just can't catch a break! Lots of prime Oberon moments in this one. Especially his views on humans mating. This sets up nicely for Hunted and I can't wait to see where Mr. Hearne takes Atticus and company to next!
Items:
We left him stretched out on the king bed, watching When Harry Met Sally KL#2152
Fand gave her some silvery hair-clip thingies and some cookies KL#3004
Except I also smell a human, and a bear Kl#1057
It was more of an uncomfortable shudder that I felt through my tattoos, like when you step barefoot into the garage in winter KL#107
As they circled nearer, a rainbow arced down from the sky KL# 1140

Bonus: God/ godess
Dawn hasn't tallied points yet so for those that still need to get reviews in you have a little bit of time still.

That's another problem I've been running into- finding cookie and cake and whatever else I'm missing. No problems finding ones I've already found. *Grr* Or a book that had cookie- no bear. Couldn't win this week. But I think I found enough in a book I finished that I can try and get something finished out.
