Catching Fire
question
What would we do without books?
I agree, I also feel a sense of accomplishment when I look at my book shelf and see all the books I have and have read lol. A pride thing, I know :)
Life would be duller. You could only live once. When you read, you live the character's lives. You laugh with them, you cry with them, you want them to be real.
If people didn't read, they would be stupid. Truly, books are essential.

Society would deteriorate and there would be anarchy!! Also I would have major depression.
I will just stare at the ceilings. But I can't imagine a world without books.
I went ebook for a while and went right back to real books. Holding a brand new book in your hand waiting to explore a new world, new characters cannot be replaced by an ebook.
I would be a very messed-up person. If things would get boring in my life I would end up doing suicidal stuffs. Then I'll die and I would end up saying "Life is the sickest thing that's ever happened to me." Then.. I don't know. I guess my soul would end up roaming the world.

oh my lord, if there was no books where would clary, jace, simon, lena, alex, julian, tris, four/tobias, tally, cassie, ky, xander, harry, hermione, ron, percy, me so be so sad ;(
Without books there would be no Alex, Julian, Peeta, Gale, Oliver, Lena, Four, Tobias. I would die without books, sometimes i feel like they are the only thing that understands me.

Without books, there'd be no Peeta Mellark. Or Todd Hewitt. Or Gally from the Glade, or no Saba and Jack from Blood Red Road.
Take away my books and my favourite characters? I'm dead.
And about the ereaders things. I love the smell of books. The feel of them, holding them open. I can let my tears stain the pages. More so I love holding the books to my chest and weeping and kissing them.
Jesus lord they sound like my boyfriend, but, hey, it's how I feel.

I don't like to think about what kind of a world we would live in. It's scary :)
Im worried that since electronic readers are becoming so popular that the original hard copies will dissappear. I love my little book shelf and you can't have a stack of e-readers. also you cant lend someone your e-reader, but you can lend someone the real thing.
Hear, hear. And if you value them that much I know you won't be purchasing any kind of e-reader or electronic book version, I hope. When you love something you naturally want to keep it thriving and alive; and not let it disappear. Good on you!
