YAY for the Joe Pitt series. I've really enjoyed that series but not too many people have read it.

Maybe i needed to read this series from the first book. Maybe the author had already built the persona where it was beleivable that he was that sexy. I started with a new release when it was being discussed BOTM on B&N. I still intend to try the first book in that series and see if i get it then.
Lily I don't think you read the first book. The missing toe & eye doesn't come about until later. I bet you read the latest book, Over My Dead Body. I listened to the first two as an audiobook so I got to know the style of speech differently. I read the 3rd and it was a little harder because of the writting style.
He's not missing a toe or eye in Already Dead. I guess you've gotten a slight spoiler but I won't tell you which book or how they came about or even if they happen at the same time so you'll still be in the dark, mostly. Maybe we'll call it a teaser instead...

I must say, the folks on the blog I was on then, LOVE LOVE LOVE Joe Pitt and I was a true minority in my distaste. Dont let me detur you. I often dont like stuff others do and vise vera--and sometimes I am completely in line with the crowd. The true fun of reading and blogging.
Again please forgive me for the slight forshadowing or teasing or spoiling.

Also, I startedStorm Born yesterday and I ..."
I really liked Storm Born. Good book.

I am also staring at

and book 12 in the wheel of time series:

Do you like the Kusheil books. I have 5 of them in my TBR stack. Someone told me they're good, but I haven't got to them yet.

I very much like the Kushel books. I have been reading it for years. It is Kind of Erotica/Fanatasy based on a world where thier savior primary standard is "Love as thou wilt" and they have taken the different types of love and lust and made it into a religion. When I first started reading this, I thought it really pushed the edge of mainstream reading. Having read LKH's books, its not so odd, but still.
Check um out! Carolyn F. wrote: "Lily wrote: "My current book is

I'm also powering through the Black Dagger Brotherhood series (currently reading Book 6,

Plus, yesterday I needed some retail therapy and bought more books to be added to my "to-read" shelf:
Three Days to Dead, Lover Avenged, On the Prowl and Howling at the Moon
I just got back from the library where I picked up both of our February reads. Thirteen Orphans and The Alchemy Of Stone. I'll be a little early but I was worried that someone would check them out if I waited.

Pleasure Unbound is a good read. It does have some steamy writing in it. Overall I liked the story line.
Dante's and Wrath story are also very good. Ecstacy Unveiled just came out on Tues.(1/26, US). I'm going to buy it later can't wait!

Just finished Cry Wolf (my first Patricia Brigg's book or Wolf book) and found it quite interesting.
There's also a prequel to this series in the anthology On the Prowl which explains a lot of Anna and Charles background.

I'll second that! YOu don't see this series mentioned alot. I read MY DEAD BODY last month, which is the last in the series. Wasn't as good as I had hoped.

That is probably my favorite in the Kitty Norville series!

I've only read the first one but I would assume it should be read in order for the world building alone (if nothing else). There is probably more information in the first book than in latter ones.

As in the very last of the series or the most recently released??

Both. Most recently released and the last in the series.

So far, I haven't decided whether I like WL or not. The premise of the story is good, the main character and the other character's development is so-so. A lot of holes to fill before this gets more than 2 stars. We'll see how it goes. This is what I get for reading Christian fiction, haha. And before anyone gets too crazy on me, I AM a Christian, so I'm digging on myself here. :)
I liked Oryx and Crake but after reading The Year of the Flood I have to agree with so many other people that Atwood does better with female protagonists.
I saw Walking Lazarus on your shelf and added it based on the description. When I saw it was Christian-Lit I almost removed it but decided it would be un-Christian of me to remove a book based on that alone :) HA I'll wait until you decide if you like it or not to decide if it gets the boot.

I just finished

Actually, I thought the first book of the Eve series was awfully slow.
Heavens yes Anne Rice is slow!! I read the first book in her Mayfair witches trilogy and liked the story okay but it took forever and a day to get to it. I keep saying one day I'll read the rest of her books but I will probably only do that when I don't have anything else to read... so... um... I guess I won't.
I just started The Monstrumologist and right off the bat we've got grave robbing, body snatching and a still unknown creepy creature. If this pace keeps up I'll be up all night reading.

Next for me are

KITTY & THE DEAD MAN'S HAND is my least favorite of that whole series. I was terribly disappointed with it. KITTY RAISES HELL was better and KITTY'S HOUSE OF HORRORS was a return to her previous form!
