**Lisa Kay grabs a cupcake** Thanks, Teresa!

message 303: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) Well shoot. We lost out on winning something by 2 spots. But we did good.

I hope they do another one but maybe not until July.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments Yeah, I don't know when I'll be ready for another RaT. My laundry suffered a little throughout this one, LOL!

Laundry? What is that? LOL!

Sonia (darktalynn) What is this laundry you speak off?

message 307: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) Don't worry, no Team RaT for June.

*naughty grin*

I am moving myself to "Pewter Blue" to start a new group and to even out the numbers. **waves** You know I love you all. I may be back; you'll probably see me move all over the assignment board.

Captains, start thinking about which of you wants to join the new group to "captain a new group" and I'll plug in any new person that matches your number to Cadet Blue.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments Oh noes! Our little group!

I'll talk with Mary about who will switch and who will stay. I'm good either way. If I switch, I'll have to figure out how to give her access to edit the spreadsheet for CB.

Eek, it's so exciting to see a new team crop up!

message 311: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) It might be easier if I switch. Not that I don't luv you guys.

I will just steal Teresa's format for the speadsheet like she stole them from someone else.

message 312: by ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (last edited May 13, 2013 10:11AM) (new)

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments LOL! I consider it inspired by, not stealing. :p

I added another column, with a direct link to the team member's actual bookshelf for the team, too. I got tired of having to click profile, then look for the bookshelf name whenever I update the spreadsheet.

message 313: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) O_O
LK and Mary are switching blues... How did I miss that?

message 314: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) @Teresa: I usually use the first page of the tell us the name of your bookshelf since it has the hyperlinks to all team's challenges

just a little rant: I love my nexus 7, however it autocorrets me to portuguese, so I need to go back to rewrite every other word. It drives me nuts *sigh*

message 315: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) I'm still not even sure what's going on with the other team. I said I would be captain. I haven't taken the time to investigate who is on the team.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments @Sonia: I didn't think there was a direct link to someone's team-related book shelf in that thread, though. I don't recall putting a link to mine, I just remember saying the name of it. I think. Now I need to look at the thread and see! *goes to do that*

*is back from looking*
Okay... what I mean is, I made a link on the spreadsheet directly to the person's shelf that they named for the team challenge. So, basically, when I'm updating the spreadsheet, I have two tabs open -- the spreadsheet in one, then the "Team Challenges" in another. On "Team Challenges" page, I click each person's tally ("8 of 100", etc) to update that and to just look at their book covers/names. Meanwhile, from the spreadsheet, I click Column J (Where I added the personal shelf hyperlink) to get to the person's personal shelf (like "cadet_blue" or "RaT2013" or whatever it is named) so I can then look over page numbers and read dates.

Going from the Team Challenges page alone requires clicking their name to get to their profile, then looking at all of their bookshelf names to find the one that relates to our challenge. I just bypass that annoying (to me) step by doing it from inside the spreadsheet to their shelf.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments Mary, have you let LK know that you're willing to switch to Pewter Blue? (mind you, i have no idea if you've already been moved there or what at the time of this writing. I'm catching up with notifications).

message 318: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) Yes I did and I am moving. It was fun but now I'll be out to kick your asses!

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments LOL!!!

Teresa, everyone's bookshelf hyperlinks are on the Google Spreadsheet Round II Requests for Sign-Ups.

message 321: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) *waves*

Bye Mary Dresden and LK

*sniffs*

I may or may not have remembered that (I don't remember now, since I don't look at that spreadsheet all the time) but the point is, when I'm in *our* spreadsheet updating *it*, I like having quick access to the personal bookshelves. I don't want to go back and forth between different spreadsheets to click the bookshelf links, I just want to go to our spreadsheet, click so-and-so's shelf directly, which opens it in the next tab, then I sort their shelf by last date read and look at page numbers to make sure they are 160 pages or more, then go back to our spreadsheet to update Columns E & F ('last date a book was posted' and 'last date a pagecount was done'). To me, that's just the most efficient way for me to update our team's spreadsheet.

edit: Eep. Now I have to remember to not count books that were allowed in the RaT that were under 160 pages.

Also, I just edited our spreadsheet. And this is RaT talk...I really need to get out of this thread.

Moderators of NBRC | 1212 comments Mod
LOL! Yes, I can totally understand that, Teresa, for a Team spreadsheet. It is just a lot of work for me to move all those bookshelves to the spreadsheets I use when overlooking the entire 173 people in this challenge.

I was just pointing it out, in case you needed to verify the name of someone's bookshelf. Some are pretty ambiguous.
