Okay, speaking of blue, I have a question: Does this one have enough blue in it? Just finished it off this morning.

Betrothed by Elizabeth Elliott

I also finished off The Kingdom (Graveyard Queen, #2) by Amanda Stevens really early and even did a review and DQs for the "buddy read." Woohoo! Of course, I'm behind in reading the threads.

Oh... forgot... I was bad and bought Open Season by Linda Howard on audible.com this morning -- for "uniform" -- so I had to. LOL!

I just realized I need to up my goal; I'm already at 1,535. Let me think about it.

message 205: by Sonia (last edited May 04, 2013 03:28PM) (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) I only read 10 pages today. But a friend of mine called around 7 PM and we didn't see each other for more than a month... I left everything and went to dinner with her. It felt so good :D

And tomorrow is mother's day for us Portuguese, so I'm going to spend the day with my mom. Be back in the evening :)

Here you go, Sonia. Two of these I started before May 1st. I'm assuming that is still alright.

Read
Death by Darjeeling, by Laura Childs ★★★★☆ PB 5/1 = 256 pages
Prince Charming, by Julie Garwood ★★★★½ audible.com 5/2 = 560 pages
The Kingdom, by Amanda Stevens ★★★★½ audible.com 5/4 “buddy read” = 343 pages
Betrothed, by Elizabeth Elliott ★★★★☆ Library-PB 5/4 = 376 pages
Death by Darjeeling (A Tea Shop Mystery, #1) by Laura Childs Prince Charming by Julie Garwood The Kingdom (Graveyard Queen, #2) by Amanda Stevens Betrothed (Montagues, #2) by Elizabeth Elliott

message 208: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) Uhmmm.... I'm not liking it... I see The Kingdom on your challenge's shelf, but not on your read one.

OK, I'm too sleepy and is past midnight, I'll check again tomorrow

Good Night Cadet Blue Team!!

You're right, Sonia! I had it marked as "to-read-series" -- Just switched it over.

BTW, I'm getting ready to mark it as read for the Mod Account, too.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments Lisa Kay wrote: "Oh... forgot... I was bad and bought Open Season by Linda Howard on audible.com this morning -- for "uniform" -- so I had to. LOL!"

LOL!! But, i thought the Julie Garwood FBI one was your uniform book? Hehehe! Guess it's always good to have a backup, right? LOL!

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments Oh, Sonia will have to pipe in about whether or not Betrothed is blue enough!

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments 456 pages down for me! Under 800 to go. I posted my update in my page count thread (every time I type that, I think of bed sheets).

Reminder: Don't forget to move or delete any posts that aren't related to the page-counts in the page count thread, okay? Can move them to this thread if you'd like!

Thanks :)

message 216: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) just a quick post to say THAT I FINISH MY BLUE COVER BOOK!!!!

Unwind (Unwind Trilogy, #1) by Neal Shusterman

336 pages read. And tomorrow (today for me, since is past 1 AM) is a Sookie day!!!

message 217: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) And btw, Betrothed (Montagues, #2) by Elizabeth Elliott is blue enough for me :)

message 218: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) I'm half-way through Just Like Heaven (Smythe-Smith Quartet #1) by Julia Quinn

I put Lady Sophia's Lover down for now. I only listened to a little bit of disc 1. I need the Julia Quinn book for the Double Decker Bus challenge and don't want to have 2 Regencies going at once.

message 219: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) Yeah! tomorrow is Sookie day!

message 220: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) Just submitted another update. I added 100 pages to Sarah's page count for the Tessa Dare short. I remember reading in the rules that shorts count for this as far as pages, themes and colors. They just can't count as a "book read" for the overall tournament, unless of course they're part of an anthology and you read the whole anthology.

Love Tessa Dare, btw.

I just finished another book Can't Wait to Get to Heaven by Fannie Flagg = 384 pages

It is also blue...

Plus, I plan on starting One Good Earl Deserves a Lover (The Rules of Scoundrels, #2) by Sarah MacLean - which is navy blue.

*looks at puny 600 pages*

OK, if you're sure, I'll update.

message 224: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) Sookie day! Sookie day!

I'm at chapter 2, but I have to work :(

The book is a bit different than the others, so, I WANT TO READ MORE AND HAVE TO WAIT TILL 6 PM

Yes, the short ones count for the RaT, just not for the Team Towers Challenge.

message 226: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) That's right tomorrow is the deadline for changing page goals. I'm debating if I want to up mine or leave it at 1200. If I finish a book tonight, I will pretty much be at goal. But I also really need to get started on my 2 door stoppers for another challenge.

Jessica Wozniak (jeswoz) | 5 comments My goal is 1000! :) and I've read a couple more books. So my page count should be different. Hopefully it shows the difference. If not when I get home I'll investigate on the computer.

message 231: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) Can you post the books you read in the Cadet Blue Read-A-Thon page count thread? Then I'll submit them.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments Not changing my goal. I left my current read at work (*sniffle*) so now I've got to rush through another one in its stead, plus finish my other book all before this shindig ends. I spend way too much time on the forums, lol.

message 233: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) Me too! I will probably up mine a little but I'm holding off until tonight to decide.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments So, if anyone in this team wants to do those slider puzzles on the Games & Puzzles for Cupcakes thread, feel free! Go win us some more cupcakes! I've done most of the word finds and doublets and the one cross word. I haven't finished all of them but I intend to.

Of course, the Mod acct is the one posting them so I think we should get credit for the slider puzzles that way, hahaha!!! (I hate slider puzzles, LOL)

Sonia (darktalynn) My sister is always talking about those mini-games. She adores them. I think she spends more time in that thread than in the ones about the RaT (or reading for the RaT)

*pouts*

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments LOL @ the pout. At least she's not on our team and slacking in her reading, hehe.

message 239: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) Mary I had the mod account with a goal of 300.

message 240: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) And I have different totals for your books and the mod account.

:(

But, if I'm not mistaken we have 5 color books and 4 uniforms which makes us a total of 65 points so far!!! Wooohoooo

I am not adding the goal points till the end of the changing goal deadline.

message 241: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) OK I will look again but this afternoon I looked through the updates on the page thread. I didn't say any others unless they were marked read since I looked a few hours ago.

Not everyone is keeping the Page Count thread updated and so I might not have seen everything.

message 242: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) Since I'm just a few pages away from my goal, I'm going to update my goal to 1500 pages.

Finished: Just Like Heaven (Smythe-Smith Quartet #1) by Julia Quinn

message 243: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) I'm using the read shelf to check on pages read.

OK, goal updated and book added.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments Wow, I can't believe there are just a few more days of this RaT left. I haven't read nearly as fast as I'd have liked but I feel confident I will meet my goal. I'm halfway through my blue cover book and I'm 37 pages into another book. Tonight, like last night, I'm working over-night at work so my sleep is going to be all screwy tomorrow but at least I'm off work tomorrow and I think I don't work until evening on Thursday and Friday so I'll have a good amount of reading time during my non-working hours.

Ugh, so tired! I haven't made up much sleep today and I'm going to be on my feet all night. Not looking forward to that, lol. Oh well. I'll make it, I just may have to be a zombie while doing so, hehe. At least when we work over night we can wear pajamas!

Goodnight, everyone. Happy reading!

Man-oh-man! Down with a migraine most of the day, which really cut into my reading time. I didn't even listen to an audiobook. **sigh** I'm going to have to reassess my goal. I'll let you know by tomorrow a.m.

Love the pic, Teresa! Sorry you have to work tonight.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 362 comments Ugh, sorry about the migraine, Lisa Kay. Hope it's gone today!! I hate it when headaches interfere with our reading pleasures, grrr.

Mary: HDLS, was it you or Jex who posted about a free on-line public library?

message 249: by Mary X (last edited May 08, 2013 09:25AM) (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) Um I don't know who, but I know what you are talking about, I think. It's not technically "free". It's called the Free Library of Philadelphia. But it's only free if you live in PA. It's $35/year and they have 10's of thousands of ebooks, including Kindle and a large digital audiobook selection.

The Brooklyn PL is $50/year and they also have a large selection.

Some books have wait lists but I have never had to wait very long for one.
