IGGPPC : Iggle BookWorms discussion
What are you currently reading?
I've just finished Sweetly
, the second book in Jackson Pearces' Fairytale Retelling series. Currently I'm reading Sapphire Blue
, the second book in Kirsten Gier's Precious Stone Trilogy. Then I'll be reading Scarlett
the second book in Marissa Meyers' Lunar Chronicles. It's my month of second books.
I'm currently reading Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness, Divergent and Too Much Happiness. Only read like 10 pages of Brain on Fire so far, so I can't really comment on that but the other 2 aren't very exciting right now.
I am reading a few titles right now, in particular April Smith's A Star for Mrs. Blake (interesting, if not a bit slow at the moment) and Hannah Kent's Burial Rites (which I am enjoying immensely :) So happy to be finally reading this!)
His Majesty's Dragon, I can only read one fun book at a time right now. I use it as a break from reading text book. I am so looking forward to being able to read this summer.
Jessica wrote: "I'm currently reading Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde which is a dystopian satire. Basically people are stratified into different classes based on what colours they are able to see. It's hilarious..."I love Jasper Fforde!
I am reading Thirteenth Child by Patricia C. Wrede, Watership Down, and the first Kingdom Hearts manga.
I've just finished Mary Shelleys' Frankenstein
. Now I'm reading Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury
Love "Something Wicked This Way Comes" So great. I am currently working my way through "The Mists of Avalon" which is good but going slowly. In a bit of slump plus her overly serious tone is sometimes too much. Heh.
I am currently reading Glasruhen Gate to my daughters and am enjoying it immensely :) I have this endless list of books I want to read and I swear, eventually I'm going to do it lol. I'm also endlessly reading/re-reading a few old standbys like Shakespeare, The Hobbit/LOTR, and I am a sucker for Mercedes Lackey. I tend to be reading at least one of those while reading anything new >.<
Right now I'm finishing Dragonfly in Amber on audiobook. I'm also listening to The Wind Through the Keyhole as my to-work-and-back book. And for those days that I really want to read before bed, but I want something a little lighter, I'm reading Witch's Canyon. In my classroom we're reading two books to end the year. My sixth graders are participating in a whole-class read of Something Wicked This Way Comes and we're going to watch the movie for comparing and contrasting. My seventh graders are doing the same thing for an end of year activity, but we're reading Life of Pi with guided reading worksheets.
I'm currently working my way through Lightspeed Magazine, June 2014: Women Destroy Science Fiction! Special Issue at the moment. It's been a lot of fun reading the range of stories in it so far and I'm not even halfway through yet. I'm pretty sure that by the end I'll have a long list of new authors to look up and add to my "to-read" list.
I am finishing up the long pending Hunger games series, I was initially skeptical about it , looking at the movies , but I must say I couldn't stop at one book. I am almost done with the third one now :)
I'm just getting ready to start Claimedby Lindsay Buroker and I'm super excited to see what Kali and Cedar get up to this time :)
Sort of staring at my shelf trying to figure out what to read next, but in the meantime I'm reading Simon Toyne' The Tower: A Novel. Am so happy to finally be finishing the trilogy :)
I'm finishing up
! Omg.... it... is... sooooo good. I am totally in-love, inspired, and downright smitten with this book. A bonus.... Wil Wheaton reads the audiobook, so I am fully immersed in geek heaven right now. SWOON!!! I recommend it, especially for geeks over the 80's or geeks who love the puzzle. You know who you are!

Call_me_anna_ wrote: "I am currently reading Eleanor and Park and I am loving it so much. "I have that book sitting on my shelf waiting to be read! (waiting until after my exams are done for the semester--it'll be like a reward to myself :))

I'd second this, I've been meaning to read it for some time now xD

I just want to agree (Third this?). I've heard nothing but good things about the book and have been wanting to read it for some time.
At the moment I'm currently re-reading the Patricia C. Wrede's Dealing With Dragon series. It was one of my favorites growing up and I recently decided to re-visit it. <3
I am actually reading a classic I've yet to read - Jane Eyre. I am enjoying it so far. It's a breath of fresh air. I love classic literature.
I'm on the last 100 pages of How the White Trash Zombie Got Her Groove Back. I love this series and am so sad it's all ending but it's been a great read.

I'll have to get a hold of the first one, I've been eyeing this series for awhile now. Also, Ready Player One is now our book of the month for September.
I just finished the first book of a series by a German guy named Oliver Potzsch. The Hangman's Daughter, it's called. Before I had even finished it, I checked out the next installment, The Dark Monk, from my library. After that, I don't know what I'll read. But I'm thinking of picking up a YA book by an author I used to follow on Tumblr (when he independently published his first book). That's called Let's Get Lost. I'm hoping I'll enjoy it, even though I don't usually like YA.
I'm actually reading Top Secret Twenty One by Janet Evanovich. Like many long running series the Stephanie Plum books have really gone downhill. I loved the first 10 but after that it seems like Janet Evanovich has recycled her storylines and characters. Don't get me wrong though, there is still enjoyment to be had with them! I'm looking forward to finishing it though and moving on to Eoin Colfer's The Hangman's Revolution.
Oh my gosh, it's been a while since I've been on. XP I just read Hark! A Vagrant for the seven hundredth time, and it was as amazing as ever. If you guys can't get your hands on the book, check out the comics on her website. Freaking hilarious.
Elizabeth wrote: "Also, Ready Player One is now our book of the month for September."Yay! Guess I should find myself a copy of this book now ;)
I am currently reading a couple of books at the moment (which I shouldn't because I'm on exam study mode, but anyway): Idelfonso Falcones' The Hand of Fatima., Shakespeare's Othello, and Andromeda Romano-Lax's The Detour
I'm reading Ash now. By Malinda Lo. It's pretty good. I mean...I'm a supporter of LGBT. And this book falls into that category. I haven't gotten to Kaisa and Ash yet. Just Sidhean and Ash
I am currently finished up Laila Lalami's The Moor's Account and also slowly starting Ernest Kline's Ready Player One and Catharine Arnold's Necropolis: London and Its Dead. Oh, I'm also re-reading Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca :)
I'm reading Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. It's such an interesting take on the dystopian genre, I really love it.
I'm finally getting round to reading The Hobbit as one of my friends lent it to me when the first film came out! I was sorted into Team Hobbitses for camp so thought now would be a good time to give it a go. I tried LOTR ages ago but found the language a bit too dense but so far Hobbit has been great, I think having seen the first film has helped though!
I've almost finished Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger and also Snow Crash by Neil Stephenson. Both are great!
I started reading Ann Leckie's Ancillary Justice the other day (got bumped up my reading list for a sci-fi event I'm participating in come November) and am really enjoying it so far! I can see how it won the Hugo and other awards :)I'm also reading Alfred Hermida's Tell Everyone: Why We Share and Why It Matters, which looks at the way we share information via social media. It's also pretty interesting so far
I am currently readingThe good the bad and the Undead by Kim Harrison
and
"Blinde Vögel" by ursula Poznanski (an Austrian Author)
Currently reading Salvage. But I also have Ready Player One on the shelf- college makes me so behind on what we read!
I am currently reading Rachel Bach's Fortune's Pawn (really cool so far) and Sherry Jones' The Sharp Hook of Love: A Novel of Heloise and Abelard :) I'm also reading two other books, but it's more of an on-and-off thing there xD
I'm currently reading The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima. Then I'm going to finish Empress. by Karen Miller.
After that, I'm not sure.
It's October, so it can't be anything but horror stories this month. At the moment it's Dracula, illustrated by the awesome Ben Templesmith.
I'm finally able to read Peter Pan Must Die!! I hope it'll be a great read. I have it in both hardback and digital. I can't wait!!
I am currently reading Brock Clarke's The Happiest People in the World: A Novel, Georgette Heyer's The Black Moth, and I started reading J.K. Rowling's The Casual Vacancy :)
I'm currently reading Sailor Moon! My sister got all 12 volumes of the manga for Christmas, so I'm working my way through those. I'm on the third volume right now, but it shouldn't take me long to work through them. I love Takeuchi's art style! I'm also reading Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami.
