I sent a note to Karina Halle and told her a bunch of my Goodreads friends were doing a Buddy Read on the EiT series.... and someone heard about this short. I asked her how to find it.AND I told her that I'd looked for
on Amazon to pre-order, but it's not there yet.Wanted her to know she's got FANS who love Dex & Perry!
Hopefully, I'll hear back her... let you know when I do.
My Kindle version didn't have it, either. I just had the link to IF the EiT series made it to the finals in a GR category, that she would create the next Dex POV, which is "And With The Madness Comes Light". So obviously, the book or series made it to the finals at least.
Did you guys watch these?(Outtakes for the trailer for Dead Sky Morning)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtbIK_...
(Interview with Dex and Perry, but takes place between Red Fox and Dead Sky Morning)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rn6pTe...
Interview starts at .45 seconds.
I was cracking up!
Lol! Too cute! Btw, I had a coworker tell his wife to download book1. Now she's hooked and just started #3. Muahahaha!
Yeah, I thought those were fun, too. Did you know that the 'boat gal' is Karina Halle, herself?Speaking of... no word on my end from Ms. Halle. But, afterall, tomorrow IS another day!
Ladyhawk, it's too great to have more in the party! Is she on GR? If not, get her in here!
I wish she had an email on she website, she doesn't. I sent an email to the person who maintains her site asking for an interview, but I am not sure it would get forwarded. I don't feel comfortable tweeting that out to her and the world if she turns me down!
Yep, it was in the credits so that's the only reason. I thought it was funny when the 'interviewer' asked if they were together. And also when she asked what they did after the hockey game.
So Wendy, it sounds like I shouldn't watch the second one until I finish Red Fox and I shouldn't watch the first one until I am ready to read that book?
Well the first one is only outtakes and nothing is really given away actually so you could probably watch it. It's mostly the actors just goofing off.But yes, don't watch the interview until after you read Dead Sky Morning.
Yeah, she's Barbara in the vid. I think she's been super busy lately with a lot of her stuff taking off in a big way recently but she's pretty good about getting back to you if you message her on GR.
I just finished
and I loved them. I loved the -- it looks like you are forever on a first date comment. :)
I loved that comment too! An while I never cold have held back, I'm also bummed we read them so fast!
The weird and wonderful way of discovering new books - thanks to Leea's avatar pic and my curiosity and her posting a link to this book and then my "look & buy" YAY, it's FREE! and then checking to see if there's a discussion going on - tada! Ooohh, this looks really good and I love the prices of the other books too :D
I'm just so thrilled that ya'll are reading these books - I have someone to share them with! Never thought when I started down the path with Darkhouse that I'd have developed an obsession, nor that some of my favorite GR people would be sharing it with me.

Hi Lisa! Delighted to see you here!! Haven't I mentioned this series to you?? I thought I did but don't remember for sure! Book 2 is just .99 btw when you're ready for it. The pricing is terrific and I'm guilty of downloading the 3 Novellas Lori suggested and #5?! These ladies read super fast and already out paced me. I can't keep up with them!
And Lori I'm trying to get that lady to join the thread. I sent her a link but not sure she caught on.
Can't wait to hear what Karina has to say when she responds to you ladies.
Hi Ladyhawk! So this is where you hang out when you're not on Outlander boards :) We've talked about so many books and I don't recall your mentioning this one before but I have a terrible memory. If you had mentioned it and I didn't follow up on it right away, it could be quickly forgotten. And sometimes what happens is I find an interesting book and add it to my amazon wish list, then it gets buried and forgotten. Since this one was free - I "bought" it ASAP. Just finished Ch 1 where Perry sees that creepy older lady...reminded me of that movie where the old Gypsy woman placed a curse on a young woman...can't remember the title.

It's... Different in a 'not what I was expecting, gotcha' kinda way! Ha! Looking forward to what you think! I usually don't get to participate in many of the book chats because, well I'm not usually reading the same book. I just got lucky this time. And I do read at a much leisurely pace.
Ladyhawk, which "lady"? Sorry, it's hard for me to keep up with the various threads sometimes... When I'm really into a book or series, I tend to devour them. That's what I did with the Outlander series and the EiT series.
You won't be sorry about the novellas... they fill in a lot of the "missing pieces", although not everything. But they really help to complete your understanding of Dex, Perry, and the other major characters and events. LOVE the ones from Dex's POV.
Which is why I'm really curious about "Come Alive", because it's supposed to be all Dex's POV. So used to Perry telling the main stories... guess I'll have to wait and see.
Ahhhh... found a blog that has the Dex & Perry goes to Target short.I'm so excited to find it.
http://www.maryse.net/news/on-target-...
I went digging around on that additional web site, and I also found Rebecca's letter to Perry, written after
: http://experimentinterror.com/2012/05...
(If I've forgotten that this letter is already in one of Dex's POV shorts, mea culpa. I'm still making my way back through them.)
There are probably other gems out there that we don't know about. But this source is super. Thanks, Leea, for finding it/tracking it down!

Anyway, I am reading
it's interesting. I am apprehensive about it since I've read all your comments! Going to watch these clips.. Did you all notice the link Leea posted has "Maryse" in it. As in Lightwood?
Ladyhawk - got it. Yeah, Leea found the Target story before Karina got back to me. I heard she's good about responding, but I'd suppose that she's trying to get the next Dex & Perry story out in June. So I'll forgive her for not being quick on the draw.I did notice the Maryse, and I thought the same thing - LOL!
I love
, because it fills in some of the missing pieces. It's sad, but it's good.
Wow...just finished Darkhouse yesterday and the scene near the end in the SeaTac's washroom scared the daylights out of me! FUN!~! Of course, had to jump right into Red Fox :D A comment Perry's mom made cracked me up because I had read the same thing - "Darkhorse" instead of "Darkhouse" when I first read the title. Yeah, old eyes LOL. It's rather odd how I can relate both to Perry and to her parents, since they're probably my age. I suffer the same parental worries about my grown kids but I didn't get what Perry's mom said about the internet not being for their generation (the parent's) or something along those lines. They may not be very computer savvy, I'm guessing? But I also can relate to Perry and her panic attacks.Dex is an odd one, for me - not sure what to think about him at this point. What Perry's sis said about him looking like Satan was a 70's flashback to my sister saying the very same thing about one of my "boyfriends" so of course, I'm visualizing him as Dex (he does fit the description). Dex's gum spitting bugs me tho because I'm picturing that wad of gum getting stuck to the bottom of a shoe...yuck ;)
Loving all the EiT comments! Lisa... Knew you'd get hooked too! Ha! I finished Old Blood last night. I liked it. It was (view spoiler)
I think Old Blood went a loooong way toward showing the possible motivation for Dex in Lying Season.
Ladyhawk - I'm on Old Blood now after finishing On Demon Wings last night. Will read those spoilers after I'm done. Yep, hooked - line and sinker (is that the expression? I get them mixed up sometimes)). Oh whew, glad to hear that someone else saw it as Darkhorse!Lying Season - The lost shoe was great :D A few scenes after that were wonderful too!
Hey guys! I'm removing EiT as the buddy read for this thread. If any of you decide to do another buddy read and want to use this thread, just let one of us Mod's know and we'll add it up there in the title for you. :)
I'm about 3 chapters in but won't be reading again until later this afternoon, we have the big family meeting today. Bleh. So far, I'm not getting pulled in, but I'm hoping that this will fall away as I get further in to the book. Right now, I'm almost comparing this to a memoir in my head, which shouldn't bother me since I read memoirs, but it feels sort of sterile for fiction. I felt guilty for not feeling sympathy for the characters, when I probably should have been.
It might just be the reminiscing/recalling that's been happening so far. I'm curious to see if the style will shift to a more present-day approach at some point.
Although, I was half asleep when I was reading last night, so I'm hoping that this will start to become more interesting if I'm fully awake to read it!
Leea had shared her AIDS story and I suppose I could share mine. Going to tag this because it's long. (view spoiler)
