D.G. I need to read Son of the Morning by Linda Howard . One of my friends posted a great review on BL. :)

Most likely I'll start it once I finished Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop . Totally loving this book!

message 3652: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) I finished Son of the Morning by Linda Howard , too. It was a great read! So much unexpected in this story.

Reading The Wicked Deeds of Daniel Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #6) by Jennifer Ashley . Love the Mackenzies!

Waiting to get the Oct True Love Buddy Read book, so I can start that one.

**Edit: Husband just informed me that it's not available till the end of the month. At least that's why I couldn't find it. lol!

Leea | 1437 comments Finished Fangirl and it was amazing!! Just the thing I need to get out of my reading funk.

Now i'm diving back into Son of the Morning

I'm excited to use my new Kindle at night and the wee hours of the morning since i've been waking up at 3am a few times a week. Ugh!

message 3661: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Enjoy your kindle, Leea! I will have to wait until November before I can get mine.

message 3662: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments There isn't much of a difference... I had the Kindle Touch so the Paperwhite is faster and i'm excited to for my early morning reads because I wont need a clip on light anymore. Wahoo!

Son of the Morning... I finally got to the second part. I can't wait to see what happens now.

message 3663: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) Leea, congrats on the Kindle Paperwhite!

message 3664: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments So fun Leea!! Congratulations! I am tempted by the knew kindle fires, for the family not me. I love my Fire for reading.

I am listening to Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop and I am liking it. I keep thinking "Written in Blood" -- did I get that from DG? LOL.

I am reading World After (Penryn & the End of Days, #2) by Susan Ee which is so freaking good. It is better than Angelfall.

I am so behind on arcs and reviews, I feel like I will never catch up. I feel like I have been running this crazy race for more than a year (for work) and it is never ending. Ugh -- I just want some downtime.

message 3665: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments finished up The Pieces We Keep by Kristina McMorris - Kristina McMorris is a favorite of mine and one of my other groups got an ARC of it that we have been passing from person to person...it blew me away

I will watch for it. It just sounds so different too. It reminds me of the movie House of Cards (even though still different): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107148/

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Angie, I love the Elemental series. It's one of the series I recommend the most because it's consistently fun.

I finished the Elemental novella/introduction, and I really enjoyed it. What a great setup. It definitely left me wanting more!

Domino (aka Meme) (bryghtstarr) | 173 comments i finished Fury yesterday. it was good. now i'm listening to Playing to Win (Play by Play, #4) by Jaci Burton . i'm not really liking the narrator's voice, but she's growing on me. i wish the narrator was a man =(

message 3678: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments No but it's on the list...

message 3679: by Angie Elle, BaBAMB!!! (last edited Oct 03, 2013 06:55PM) (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments It's the only one of hers I read. I read it a long time ago, but I remember it was my favorite read that year. It was close, because Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie was one of my favorites that year, too, but Cry No More won out!

Have tissues handy when you get around to reading it!

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Yes, you probably got it from me!!

I'll start my re-read of Angelfall so I can jump into World After (don't know why it doesn't let me do the links, arrgh!)

I kept searching for Written in Blood and kept wondering why I couldn't find it!

Stacia ~ Admittedly Apathetic wrote: "I am so jealous of you having World After! "

Getting it early has nothing do with me, haha -- it is all because I happen to blog with Michelle the Book Stalker and AH -- both who were early early early readers of Angelfall -- I am just a freeloader! But thankful to be one.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I'm still jealous! Enjoy though!

I see people reading Bold Tricks (The Artists Trilogy, #3) by Karina Halle as well.

message 3683: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Lucky!!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Actually, I just checked my email and got my invite to read Bold Tricks, so if you have reviewed her other books, you might want to check your email.

message 3685: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Wow... you ladies got the hook up. Can't wait to hear what you think of those books.

I want BOLD TRICKS!

Finished Son of the Morning and it was just so beyond what I expected. Stacia, did you finish?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments I did. I loved it. So far, I'm 3 for 3 on Howard books. She writes entertaining stories! I'm curious about this two book with Son of Morning in it. Is the other book time travel, I wonder? Shades of Twilight/Son of the Morning Guess I need to read the synopsis.

Probably won't read Bold Tricks until next week because I have 2 galleys due by Tuesday and had started the final Under the Never Sky book as well.

Dying Is My Business by Nicholas Kaufmann = SO good and I'm only 10% in. I think this is going to be a winner. *cross fingers*

message 3687: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Oh, I'd be interested in reading that an also more LH books. I'm the same, 3 for 3 :)

message 3688: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Wow...you gals have some really nice ARCs! Looking forward to your reviews.

I'm thinking I should give LH another chance. I read After the Night and only thought it was ok.

message 3689: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I'm starting Son of the Morning tomorrow!

Not sure what to read next... I'm back to my same old problem. haha!

Dying Is My Business by Nicholas Kaufmann looks really good and promises to be something different.

I gave my "old" kindle to my oldest son, he's 7 and he's in love. It's a beautiful sight.

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments So, apparently the next Night Huntress book is the last one, and I can feel myself having withdrawals already. I've always had good luck with suggestions from this group in the past.

Do you guys have any suggestions for a series 'like' this one? I use the term loosely, as I'm not necessarily looking for the same thing. I just like a strong female lead with a man content to be fighting at her side instead of constantly pushing her away from danger.

message 3694: by Leea, Escape Artist (last edited Oct 04, 2013 07:34AM) (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Have you read the Mercy Thompson series, Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs . Or Kate Daniels... Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews

message 3695: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Looks like it's that time to reread Outlander... I'm excited to now picture Sam as I read Jamie. I'm buddy reading this with Wendy, but anyone is welcome to join us if they need a Jamie fix.

I haven't, but the Kate Daniels ones are on my list. I'll go for those next.

Thanks, Leea!

message 3699: by D.G. (last edited Oct 04, 2013 07:52AM) (new)

D.G. Kate and Curran are the most kickass couple EVER!!! You won't regret it, Angie.

Just beware that the first book takes some time to get used to because the authors just dump you in the middle of the world and build from there. This is not like a lot of PNR/UF books where the female lead just discovers the supernatural world and goes from there.

message 3700: by Angie Elle, BaBAMB!!! (last edited Oct 04, 2013 08:00AM) (new)

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 696 comments Thanks for the heads up, D.G. And I'm glad to hear it's 'Kate and Curran.' I'm really not into the series that have a different male lead in every book, but the same heroine. I want a couple that kicks ass together for the long haul!

I've really just gotten back into PNR, and I didn't realize how much I missed it.
