Lord of the Underworld is the series I was going to start. Really looks good...I've downloaded the first book. Just need to catch up a bit on some other books before I attempt another series.

message 302: by Susan (new)

Susan I really liked Alice In Zombieland. Her first person POV was good. And there are some serious battle scenes!

Quynh (quynh_o) | 1269 comments That's great Susan! I'm only 3 chapters in, really liking it so far. Have you seen Gena do interviews with Jill Monroe asking other authors questions? They're pretty hilarious.

message 307: by Susan (new)

Susan Somewhere in the second half of the series Showalter changed her writing style. The later books are not as sexual as the earlier ones. Some readers have been put out by this. It did not bother me much at all. I enjoy the newer ones just as much. I just thought I would do full disclosure for you.

message 308: by Quynh (new)

Quynh (quynh_o) | 1269 comments The sex scenes doesn't make or break a book for me. So I'll be checking out that series once I get to it. :)

message 309: by Gina (new)

Sounds fun...I'd love to see one of them.

message 311: by Susan (new)

Susan They are very funny. She also does interviews with Kresley Cole that are hilarious as well.

message 312: by Quynh (new)

Quynh (quynh_o) | 1269 comments Oh I don't think I've seen it with Kresley Cole. Another author on my to read list lol.

Sandra, you can watch the videos on Gena's official website.

message 315: by Jeanie (new)

Jeanie Jackson The only bad thing about this thread is that it gives me too many ideas of great books to read while making want to go back and read so many old favorites. Thanks for suggestions I am sure to enjoy!

message 316: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11216 comments Mod
@ Quynh - Yes, we already do and my list is just as long for my other groups! lol

Me too Jeanie. I can't get to my tbr list for constantly learning about new great books that I just must read right now.

message 317: by Susan (new)

Susan So, once again, is the name of full disclosure. I have read both the Lords of the Underworld and Immortals After Dark series...I enjoyed both. Immortals After Dark is better, in my opinion.

Just sayin...in case you were trying to decide between the two.

*Susan will now go duck in a corner

message 318: by Quynh (new)

Quynh (quynh_o) | 1269 comments Thanks Susan! I'll get to them both... eventually!

Hey Y'all...It's almost October - 3 months left in 2013. So what books are you still waiting for? Or what books are still on your list to read this year?

message 320: by Lesley (new)

Lesley (whimsey2) | 113 comments I have just started Kathy Reichs bones of the lost. I usually really like her books but right at the start of this one she locks her keys car & house as well as her handbag in her car. Then instead of calling someone to unlock the car her detective she works with turns up and drives her into work. He asks her if she wants to stop off at home and change she says no the house keys are locked in the car so instead of helping ger get her keys he just drives her to work. Who does that it is really annoying me. I hate it when a character does something so unnatural. It has almost made me rethink about whether or not I will continue reading the book. Dies this sort I f thing annoy anyone else?

Jeanie Jackson Lesley wrote: "I have just started Kathy Reichs bones of the lost. I usually really like her books but right at the start of this one she locks her keys car & house as well as her handbag in her car. Then instead..."

Absolutely but in this case I tried to justify the situation. Maybe they didn't have time, her thought patterns just don't work that way, or she has a Ford which is supposed to be hard to break into.

I say supposed to because my ex-niece in law took about 2 second to get into my Mustang after an off duty Ford guy, my nephew and about 40 other guys tried.
