Dawn | 3250 comments I finally succumbed to repeated recommendations. Actually, just listening was putting me to sleep, so I am going back and forth between the audio and ebook. I still have 26 hours lol. I am for seeing a costly addiction to yet another long series...

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15062 comments Mod
Hate to confirm that but...I'm now trying to figure out how to read the next one:)

message 493: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11216 comments Mod
I should duck my head as I say that I dnf'd Outlander...I just didn't get into it. And I know that I probably just didn't read far enough in to get hooked. I have friends that love it and friends that didn't finish it so I've heard both sides of the pros & cons. I truly think that at the time I started it, I just wasn't focused enough (several distractions ongoing) to read it. I think I let the history bog me down before getting to the story. If that makes sense! I do intend to give it another try...maybe the audio, this time.

message 494: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15062 comments Mod
Sandra, there doesn't seem to be any middle ground with this book. You're either going to love or dislike it. I was hooked pretty early on (the history is a draw for me) so if it's not calling you, be free and let it go!

message 495: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11216 comments Mod
I will if it doesn't grab me this time. I seriously didn't give it a fair chance as in I probably read less than 50 pages...maybe less than 25. I don't remember as it has been a long time since I started it. I'm a fan of historicals - love them! But I seem to recall this one being a lot of historical details in the beginning and I wasn't concentrating. But thanks for the advice!

message 496: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments I read a bunch of very mixed reviews before I bought it and yes, either they loved it or they hated it. And those who were brave enough to say they hated it have been viscously attacked. I admit that most of the haters are talking about rape scenes and I am not that far into it.

message 497: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Oh and I am enjoying the narration. She is new to me, but I am enjoying her voice and her characters.

message 498: by Sandra (new)
