Kimberly | 2033 comments I finally finished Finding Camlann by Sean Pidgeon and cannot begin to describe how much I hated this book.

message 52: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60011 comments Oh! Oh! I have it on my wishlist, Kimberly. I may have to rethink that.

message 53: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly | 2033 comments I think I might start The Bone Thief (Wulfgar, #1) by V.M. Whitworth

message 54: by [deleted user] (new)

State of Wonder, because the author starts with P.

I've also got One Day on the go on the car.

Our library recently changed catalogue and it didn't go smoothly, so I have no idea where my reserved books are, or when they're likely to arrive...

message 55: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly | 2033 comments Also started Grim by Joseph Spencer

message 56: by Shirley (new)

Shirley (shirleythekindlereader) Kimberly
Did you watch Hannibal?

message 57: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie I do recommend listening to the audiobook version of The Children's Book narrated by Rosalyn Landor. Best narration I have ever listened to. What a book. Stuffed with information. It does drag in the middle, but do stick it out to the end. It is worth it.
My review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Tomorrow I will start Life After Life

message 61: by Roz (new)

Roz | 4544 comments I'm reading The Fallen Snow by John J. Kelley for the F book of my Alphabet Challenge. I should be finished by the weekend so I'll be ready for the April Toppler book which I can use for my G book. Life is good!! :D

message 62: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (sianin) | 453 comments Just finished a short novel by a new Canadian author (he's not a new Canadian but a new author)! Getting Lucky by Craig Anderson which I really quite enjoyed.

Am starting February by Lisa Moore as it is in my TBR and I thought I might as well keep to the Canadian theme.

message 65: by Shirley (new)

Shirley (shirleythekindlereader) The Aran Islands

The Aran Islands by J.M. Synge

Short stories Irish and delightful.
Frank McCourt told a bit about the author who wrote 4 plays and died at 38.

message 74: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly | 2033 comments I started Wolf Moon Rising by Miranda Simon

message 76: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly | 2033 comments Finished Wolf Moon Rising by Miranda Simon 4 stars.

message 77: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I am re-reading Far from the Madding Crowd 'cuz I cannot remember what it is about and I only gave it 2 stars and someone else said they loved it. It is so wierd, as I am reading, it seems so familiar, but nothing yet has smacked me up side the head and jogged my memory. Honestly, I do like the writing.

message 78: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60011 comments I finished Sanctus which was a disappointment. I will start Riptide tomorrow. :)

Kimberly | 2033 comments Janice wrote: "I finished Sanctus which was a disappointment. I will start Riptide tomorrow. :)"

That's a shame. I've been flirting with the idea of borrowing it from the library.

message 80: by Susan (last edited Apr 09, 2013 06:52PM) (new)

Susan (chlokara) I am reading Splintered because everyone raved about it. I like it okay, but am not as impressed as others seem to be. I started in again on the audio book of Les Misérables. I got it out of the library a while ago and it is 51 discs long. The first time I got it out of the library I got through 17 discs before I had to return it. Then I had to wait several weeks to get it again. I was glad to take a break from it. Parts of it can be tedious. I'll probably won't finish it this time, either.

The ending was the problem for me.

message 82: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie I completed: Life After Life
My review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

I have started Truman. I always appreciate books written by David McCullough! :0)

message 83: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I really liked your review of Life After Life, Chrissie, but I would have to add this one to my "Maybe" shelf, if I had one.

I DO have Truman on my list. I have to get to the David McCullough books one of these days.

message 84: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie Cherie, I LOVE Truman. It is not dry. McCullough really can write. Many people love everything Atkinson writes! Do remember that if I give a book three stars, I do think it is worth reading! I do not throw out stars right and left. Thank you for telling me you liked the review.

message 85: by Janet (new)

Janet Just finished Delivered with Love by Sherry Kyle - I had bought it a while back and am making myself read a book off my bookshelf at home one per month.
It was a wonderful surprise.

Your review tempted me to add the book to my list, because of the writing, but the other part of the story line is what allowed me to give it a maybe status. I read through all of the comments from others and got a pretty good picture of what was going on to determine that I have way too many other books to pursue at this time. Thanks for helping me make up my mind. :)

Well, I do think most others reviewers are overly positive. Just my pov, and often I am the oddball.

message 88: by Nicole (new)

Nicole I finished the first in the River of Time series Waterfall by Lisa Tawn Bergren. Young adult-y, but fun escape read. 4 stars. I am well into the second, Cascade

Now on to "Q" with Every Last One Every Last One by Anna Quindlen . Hope it's not too rough going.

I'm also just about done with The Red Tent for the April challenge.

message 93: by [deleted user] (new)

I've just finished State of Wonder for my alphabet.
torn between a re-read of The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher: A Shocking Murder and the Undoing of a Great Victorian Detective for this month's book club or starting The Shawshank Redemption by Mr king for the monthly challenge.
thing is, that King book is a bit bigger than expected for a book of "short" stories. 550 pages or so wasn't quite what i had in mind...
