Hina (hinaj) | 884 comments yeah puzzle 46 requires some time, and I don't have that at work. So hopefully I will look at it later.

message 252: by jingles (new)

jingles I will keep working on it too, Hina.

Welcome.

Hina (hinaj) | 884 comments JoLene, there you go! Can you check out their message #6 in the thread to double check everything before submission. The mods have done cursory checks already since they caught one of our mistakes. But if you can double check, I look at the list so many times, I don't think I will catch it.

jingles I have the 27 books, but somewhere I'm messed up between 4 and 5.

I'll have to come back to it later.

message 258: by Barbara ★ (last edited Jun 11, 2013 04:12PM) (new)

Barbara ★ 1) I was born in Connecticut but currently live in New Jersey.
2) My favorite genre is paranormal but I read almost as many mystery/thrillers.
3) Can you play a musical instrument? When younger I played the trombone but now I can't even blow a single recognizable note.
4) When not reading, do you have another hobby? I used to cross stitch but my 6 cats kind of nixed that.
5) Favorite vacation? I don't go on vacation but if I did it would be to Australia, Scotland or Alaska.

message 259: by JoLene (new)

JoLene (trvl2mtns) | 705 comments OK, here's my answers:

1) Born in Peoria, Illinois -- but moved to New Orleans which I consider my hometown. Now I live in CA, but don't consider myself a Californian :-D.
2) Genre: I like historical fantasy probably best of all, but read a lot of historical fiction, thrillers and YA. I will read most anything, especially now that I'm addicted to challenges.
3) Can play the piano and a mean Rock Band guitar ;-)
4) I do a lot of knitting and needlepoint; I also like cycling.
5) I used to travel a lot -- not so much anymore. Favorite vacation was a 21 day overland camping trip through South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana.

Barbara ★ first bouncing cupcake puzzle #50 submitted

message 264: by Hina (new)

Hina (hinaj) | 884 comments Thanks Barbara, I am not getting that much of a chance to look into the puzzle.

Yeah I am not sure what to do about the bouncing cupcake, but I guess we will keep an eye on it and do the puzzles as required. The bouncing cupcakes might come in handy.

message 265: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ The required puzzles are all Spot the Differences which are usually pretty easy. I'll keep my eyes on them.

I totally missed your message, Barbara.

message 269: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ It doesn't matter. We can all do it. I seem to remember you can only use cupcakes for the number of people who complete a task so the more the merrier.

That is for the "blinkie." We decided not to do that for the "bouncing" cupcakes. Mainly because this is actually a test drive for how much trouble it is to track "chunksters." (Yes, a Mod hidden agenda.)

message 271: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ I knew I saw it somewhere.

message 272: by Hina (new)

Hina (hinaj) | 884 comments I don't think I am understanding bouncing cupcakes so far from what I read on that thread. It is totally possible that the lack of sleep and being at work with only one small cup of coffee all day has slowed my brain.

When did cupcakes get so complicated?? I feel like I need a diagram to follow things now. Which ones were blinkie cupcakes....hmmm...I need to go read about it again, but for now we for blinkie the more participants, the more blinkie cupcakes.

The Skinny of Cupcakes

- "Blinkie" Cupcakes are for any puzzle you mail in the answer; you can use books on the Team Members' shelves that turned them in (that is why their name appears in the column); regardless of date (well, since January 1, 2013) read or page count. ☺ Plus, for the 7% Solution Challenge, you only have to use one of them and five regular to replace said book.

- "Bouncing" Cupcakes are earned by doing the series of "Spot the Difference" puzzles. You may turn them in, if someone has read a "chunkster" since April 12th, and actually get another book credited as read for your Team.

Thilde | 23 comments Puzzle #53 submitted

message 275: by jingles (new)

jingles Ah, so in the case of the Bouncing Cupcakes, when the puzzle is submitted, we should also submit a chunkster book read by a team member since April 12 in order to get credit for the puzzle and the chunkster book credit. So it is important to submit a chunkster book when submitting the puzzle.

Is that correct?

message 276: by jingles (new)

jingles Okay, I guess I am still confused about this.

I just looked at the June's Cupcake spreadsheet, and even though I've completed and posted for puzzle #42, 44, and 47, my name is not listed in the column next to those puzzles. I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Maybe it doesn't even matter?

I don't care either way, as long as our team isn't missing out on anything.

If I am doing it incorrectly though, I would like to know, so that I can participate and do it right.

:)

message 277: by Hina (new)

Hina (hinaj) | 884 comments Jingles, you did everything fine, the puzzles (42,44 and 47) are slider puzzles so they are already posted and the cupcake indicates that you got it right and the cupcake for it. So you are doing it right! The ones where you see team members name, are the puzzles we have to email the mods, so that's why you see our names there, so they can track who they received the email from.

Did that explain it?

message 278: by Hina (new)

Hina (hinaj) | 884 comments Now I noticed on the spreadsheet, that we are not getting our Sunday Bonus cupcakes? What do we need to do to change that?

message 279: by jingles (new)

jingles Oh, I see. Yes, thank you very much, Hina.

Barbara ★ What's a Sunday bonus cupcake? I thought they didn't issue cupcakes on Sundays. Hmmm maybe I need to re-read the cupcake info.

message 286: by Hina (new)

Hina (hinaj) | 884 comments the cupcakes are for doing the sunday updates by me and one for every team. we didn't get it because I had diifferent numbers for goals for 2 of our members. but they pointed ot out and I have fixed it. so we should be good getting them from now on.
