Bella Andre never fails to brighten up my day! Although it was too short, I enjoyed the whole story. This was a sweet, heartwarming, and sexy romance novella. If you're looking for a fun, fast read that was packed full of delight and vehemence, this book is worth a try.

Love at First Sight… A short, sweet, and steamy love story...

This short story had been riding the iBooks number one spot for several days by the time I decided to give it a whirl. The Author seems to be popular. Though I haven't read any other books in The Sullivans Series, would that have enhanced my enjoyment? I do not know...

The storyline was cute (complete with HEA) but it was mostly forgettable. Love at first sight and all that jazz…
Overall it was a nice way to spend an hour or two.

"You gave me one perfect day in Lake Tahoe. Now I want one night." He moved closer again and took one of her trembling hands in his. "One night with you." He entwined his fingers with hers and she stopped shaking as he held her tight. "One night to love you the way you’ve always wanted to be loved." He dipped his head down so that he could whisper in her ear. "One perfect night to make all of your secret desires and dreams come true."

This was a very short read, it was cute and sappy with one very sure male who knows what he wants and doesn't stop until he gets his point across and a reluctant female who doesn't know if she can trust so easily. I was perfect for what I was looking for a good before-I-go-to-bed-read-that-I-can-finish-in-one-night-novella.

When skiing with her friends Colbie Michaels ends up running straight into Noah Bryant at the top of the mountain. Spending time with Noah makes Colbie see that he seems to be a great guy and just her type but Colbie shies away from making it more since she had just come out of a bad relationship. However, a chance meeting a week later makes Noah determined to prove to Colbie their relationship could work.

One Perfect Night is a part of the Sullivans series by Bella Andre but it seems to be find as a standalone. I believe the books feature different couples and this is Colbie and Noah's story. It was basically a very short, fast paced read with a couple having an instant attraction. A bit of cute flirting then straight into the steamier moments and then the story ends. Not a bad read but not much depth with it being short.

Am I the only one that is really bothered with the fact that they were practically saying 'i love you' in 2 days?
I think the story had great potential, but was ruined for being so short.
Don't get me wrong, my problem was not with the whole 'love a first sight' thing. I just don't think the characters were well developed. Their first day together, the day they should have had this great connection, was barely described. I needed so much more details to understand why they felt that way...

Short and sweet read

Colbie Michaels found her trusted boyfriend in bed with his co-worker just a little over a month ago. That wasn’t the first time that Colbie should have noticed her ex was not to be trusted. She is determined not to trust or fall in love with another man. That is until she meets the handsome Noah. Noah is determined to get Colbie to trust him and give their relationship a chance. After spending the day together they lose touch. When they meet again Noah gets Colbie to agree to give him one night to prove himself to her. Noah is determined to give her One Perfect Night.

This is a very fast paced story. It’s an extremely short read with the book ending at 71% and the rest of the Kindle book contains previews for other books. This meant a lot of story packed into a very short book. Unfortunately this hindered character development and relationship building. The relationship between Noah and Colbie was very much love at first sight. I am not usually a fan of instant love but in the case of a story this short there really isn’t time for relationship build up. The positive about this is for those of you who don’t like angst, there isn’t time for any. By the second meeting they were professing their love for one another. That being said this author did a great job of utilizing the space she had. The story was never boring and I was very invested in finding out if Colbie and Noah got their HEA.

The writing is quite good and very easy to follow. Belle Andre’s style of writing is actually one of the better I’ve seen in a short story. My only complaint is that I wish the book had been longer. What she did with such a short amount of space proves that a full length novel from her would have been fantastic.

The cover was very generic. Most of the romance novels I read have the same concept. It’s sexy and you know from looking at it there is going to be romance in it but there is nothing special that sets it apart from most of the other romance novels on my Kindle. I would have liked it more if it would have at least shown the couples faces. Unfortunately you get to see their body from the waistline to their neck. The guy is shirtless which is usually ideal but since he’s facing at a side angle you can’t really see him. Of course if there is a half -naked guy on my book cover I would like to at least be able to see him.

Since this is such a short read there are very few characters in the story. Noah and Colbie are both likable as far as I could tell but there aren’t a lot of details given. The characters are very one dimensional and there are only a couple of other characters in the story. This writer stayed almost completely focused on the main couple of given the space she had to tell their story it was necessary. It would have been nice to have more background information on both of Colbie and Noah.

Way too short of a story but I really enjoyed it.
Loved the Sullivan series and hopefully this book means the beginning of more books to come about the extended Sullivan family. :)

First impression:
Well, it was part of The Sullivan's Series, so it was an auto-buy for me. Plus, the cover looks promising.

The story:
Colbie, Mia Sullivan and their girlfriends are off to Lake Tahoe for a weekend getaway. Usually they head to the beach, but this time the snow won. Colbie doesn't really know how to ski, but it all works out because sexy Noah more than willing to show her the ropes. Their connection is undeniable and sparks are flying. The problem is that Colbie is mending a wounded heart and doesn't feel quite ready to jump in the sack with Noah.

They go their separate ways after their fun filled day together, but neither one of them can stop thinking about the other. Now, their both home and chatting to their friends about "the one that got away". Coincidentally, Noah's friend happens to be Rafe Sullivan. Noah asks Rafe to find his mysterious Colbie. And across town, Mia and Colbie are thinking Rafe will be the perfect person to help her find Noah. So, Rafe and Mia put the pieces together and...the rest they say, is history!

The characters:
I really liked Colbie and Noah together at the ski resort. They were flirty and having a great time together. Noah was really sweet with Colbie. I was a bit disappointed that she didn't head off with him that day, but I did understand her reasons. She was bit gun shy after being hurt by her ex. And really, it all worked out in the end.

Once they meet back up there was no holding back! Noah took control of the situation and he wasn't ever going to let Colbie out of his sights again. I appreciated that. It was sexy. And the big steamy scene was very satisfying. Bella Andre can definitely bring the heat to a sex scene without being overly descriptive. It worked for me!

What didn't work for me:
It's funny because the thing I liked the most about Noah, the fact that he took charge of the situation, is what didn't work for me. That said, this is a novella so things did need to move rather quickly, but I felt like Noah and Colbie were immediately in love and it was set in stone that they would be together forever. I'm a romantic, so I'll buy it, but it was definitely a case of insta-love.

Overall:
I did enjoy this novella. Noah and Colbie were a great couple and I suspect I'll see them again when I finally get around to reading Rafe's book. Which is sitting pretty on my Kindle right now. If you're a fan of The Sullivan's Series, I'd say go ahead and pick this one up. These two are a part of the Sullivan's lives, so it gives a little insight to their lives outside the family a bit. I liked it.

I, like most romance readers, am a sucker for Bella Andre’s Sullivan series and if you haven’t read it what are you waiting for? So, when I saw a notice on Facebook that this book had released and it “co-starred” two of the Seattle Sullivan’s I was all over it. While I’m sad the California atruegemawardSullivan series is coming to an end, I can’t help but be excited about finding out more about their Seattle cousins because the reside in one of my favorite cities and I can ONLY imagine the adventures they can take in that area. I mean mountains, ferry rides, Pike market, orca watching in the San Juan Islands, dining at Iver’s, visiting the sites from Northern Exposure and Twin Peaks….okay…so off topic but damn, I love that area! One Perfect Night begins in Lake Tahoe but wraps up in Seattle. This is a novella, but it’s packed with everything I love about Bella’s books; a chance meeting, instant attraction, desire, and some hot, sexy fun!

Noah and Colbie meet when he rescues her after she face plants in the snow while attempting to ski. They send the day together where he helps her with her skiing and they get to know a little about each other. When Noah suggests they go to dinner, Colbie bolts and she figures that’s the end of it.

I enjoyed watching these two meet and then later on realizing they should have exchanged contact information. Colbie is coming off a really bad break-up and she’s wary because Noah seems so perfect. Noah is fascinated by Colbie and that continues once he’s back home. The fact that they both hired Rafe Sullivan to find the other and that Mia helped him to plan a meeting between the two made the story even more special.

This is an entertaining story that gives us a little insight into the Seattle Sullivan’s but also restores faith in love at first sight. I can’t wait to see what Bella has in store for this branch of the Sullivan family!

This was a last minute impulse read in order to fill a group reading challenge. I got this for free, thank goodness. The writing was okay but the story was lackluster and didn't really do anything for me. I'm not a fan of "instalove" or "love at first sight" thing. I understand in this case since it's more of a short story than a book, but still, not a fan of instant eye romance, or in this case "intalust". Just a meh read. would recommend borrowing it if interested in reading it.

Now, I normally have a big old moan about people moaning about how short a short story was, but in this case I have to agree. It really was way too damn short and could have done with being double the length.

If it wasn't part of the uber brilliant Sullivan series, it would have been completely forgettable.

Colbie Michaels and her girlfriends go on an all girl's trip in California. She and Mia Sullivan go up the hill together. Colbie is scared of heights but she's forcing herself to do something that scares her because she just ended a two year relationship with someone she thought she loved. Not wanting Mia to to stay behind because of her she tells her to go down the fast hill. In the slower hill, Colbie ends up falling trying to help a little girl whom she thought needed her help. As much as she tries to get up, she can't, until strong hands help her up.

Noah Bryant loves the fact that a beautiful woman tried to help a little girl. Being a ski instructor in his younger years, he offers Colbie and evening of learning how to ski. They spend the evening together and before it is over, Noah knows he wants to spend more time with her but is surprised when she says no and leaves him on top of the slope.

A week after they met, both back in their perspective lives, they both can't stop thinking about each other. Chase's best friend, Rafe Sullivan, is a private investigator. He asks his help in finding the woman who has stolen his thoughts and maybe something more. Mia knows Colbie can't stop thinking about the mysterious Noah she met on the slopes, so she gets her to call Rafe, her older brother, to help her find him again.

Rafe mets Mia in her office and they plan to get both Noah and Colbie together.

Chase is amazed that Rafe has found Colbie so soon. He had the perfect day with her, so he wants to show her the perfect night, hopefully of many together they can share. Will Colbie let her past dictate her future of give Noah a chance?

At first I was confused about who Mia was and how she and Rafe fit into the Sullivan family, since the book said she was the youngest girl of four, with Rafe being one of her older brothers. I had just started reading the Sullivan series, so I contacted Bella Andre and she was so gracious to send me the Sullivan Family tree, which I've copied and pasted here. Everything makes more sense now.

Other than that, the book was great, maybe a bit to short for me, because with Bella Andre's writing I always want more!

Review:

"One Perfect Night" by Bella Andre was another good read from the author in 'The Sullivan's' series which introduced Noah and Colbie who were friends of the Sullivan's ...Mia and Rafe. Whoever knew that once Noah and Colbie met on the ski slope that it would turn in to a happy ever after. However, both of these two did not exchange contact information but a friend comes to the rescue for both of these two and from there we are given a sweet romance by this author. I will not tell you any more other than to say you must pick up "One Perfect Night" for truly a sweet romantic read will give you a "insight into a Seattle Sullivan's read series that will restore your faith in love at first sight." This was definitely a case of a 'perfect man meeting a perfect woman and the rest is as you would say... is history.' If you are looking for a short and sweet well written romance you have come to the right place for "One Perfect Night" will give it all to you. Would I recommend? YES!

ABSOLUTELY 100% LOVED THIS BOOK

I had no idea this was a part of a series or a standalone or anything else when I read this book but, it was a breath of fresh air and I was in love with the characters and the story from beginning to end.
I am so going to read the series now. I am not usually one who believes in love at first sight but the author captivated me and kept me intrigued and now I want more of Colbie and Noah and the rest of the Sullivan's. Amazing short and quick read!

I'd never read a Bella Andre book, but after Kristan Higgins recommended her, I decided to try this novella on Colbie and Noah. Have to say this short read was exquisite, from the storyline to the editing. Gotta appreciate love -- and trust -- at first sight! The evocative descriptions, the emotions engendered became precious to me, and I inhaled the tale. Wow. All taking place in my two favorite places to be: my old haunt of Heavenly Valley in Tahoe and my former, fondly missed homeland of Seattle.

Now on to some of Ms Bella's other books. I think I hear the Sullivans calling... :)

I guess I don't understand the appeal of this genre. Trying to understand, but perplexed by this bubblegum almost-story (there is no third act) written as if by a 12 year old girl who daydreams about love at first sight and has seen an R rated love scene, but just can't bring herself to type "penis."

When will novellas stop trying to be novels?

I picked this up as a freebie because I had enjoyed some of Andre's other work. None of it set my world alight, but it was mostly solid. This premise seemed bite-sized enough to work as a novella without the number-one complaint I have about romance novellas: "this should have been a full-length novel, it's trying to do too much."

I got burned here with that. The lovebirds spend one day skiing together, one week apart and thinking about the other, then get reunited in a too-cute-for-reality setup through mutual friends and end up spending their "one perfect night" together.

During which they drop L-bombs and claim they're "meant to be." Um, excuse me? What planet am I on now? Why did a perfectly good novella set up have to rush them to InstaLove when a "this has potential, let's give a try" kind of Happy For Now ending would have been the absolutely perfect cap to the story? Why does it have to be forever already?

2.5 stars at best. There were several things I didn't like about this, starting with the fact that it was so short. There wasn't enough time to develop the characters so that I could get on board with their relationship. I'm all for love at first sight stories, provided they're realistic. But this was more like two people who are physically attracted to each other and then spend the day skiing only to both be so gaga that they can't function well for the week they are apart. Ok. Fine. Except, um, I didn't really know either of them well enough to think that this could have happened or maybe even that it was SO against their usual thing it was fated. Or whatever. Yeah, this lack of real defined thought about the review? It is on par with what I felt reading.

As a result, when I came across dialogue or exposition that was borderline cheesy, it became just that instead of perfect. Romantic language and all the sumptuous description in the world can feel like it's cheesy romance for the sake of it instead of a way to embellish a good story. Here, there was so little connection to the characters, the language didn't always serve its purpose well.

Then there was the fact that Noah is, apparently, rich. Because he needed something else to make him awesome, of course. Colbie asks if she should know him and he implies she should, but then brushes it off by not actually, you know, telling her who he is. Now, if this was something I'd have learned in the Sullivan series, I'd have been okay with that, I guess. But this story isn't even part of that series, technically! I'd have marketed it as a short story that's part of the series. Hell, I'd have written it that way. I'd have made it so that Colbie and Noah became part of the fabric of the series to which they are obviously loosely connected.

All in all, the entire thing felt rushed and everything suffered for it: the plot, the language and especially the characters. And anyone who reads my reviews knows that if the characters are great, the story can suck basketballs and I'd probably still like it. I wanted to like this more than I did. The only reason it gets that extra 0.5 star bump from me is that it *did* make me interested in reading the Sullivan series. This was a freebie on Amazon when I got it, so it probably served its purpose. I just wish it served that purpose a little better.

Bella Andre gifts readers with a little something extra. In this short novella, we meet Colbie (cute name!) and Noah, friends of the Seattle Sullivans family. When Colbie and Mia Sullivan go to Lake Tahoe for a fun girls only weekend, Colbie learns that she isn’t as graceful on the slopes as she had hoped to be. She lets her friend Mia go off on her own so that she can enjoy the time there while Colbie tries to make her way back without falling down in her skis.

She fails. And falls flat on her face.

But Noah is there to lend her a helping hand. Their attraction is instant and as the sexy sky instructor, they soon become comfortable with one another. As the weekend comes to an end, they go their separate ways, but thoughts keep circulating in both their minds of one another.

Noah turns out to be friends with Rafe Sullivan and as a private investigator, asks Rafe to find Colbie. Similarly, Mia tells Colbie to use her brother’s talents to find Noah. It’s cute when they find each other and have a scorching hot night together. I only wished it was longer because when I flipped to the last page, I was really disappointed that that was the end of the story. I would have loved to read more about Colbie and Noah. I would have loved to learn more about Colbie’s indulgence business as well.

In Andre’s next book, THE WAY YOU LOOK TONIGHT, Rafe gets his HEA. There some mention of Colbie and Noah in it, so definitely check it out if you wish for more of this couple! I know I do!

ONE PERFECT NIGHT has all the characteristics of a Bella Andre story – charm, sweetness and a heap full of hotness!
